Good Woodworm Cricket Bat for a Junior/Beginner

Disadvantages: Not the best quality

...I recommended this bat to a brother of mine, a beginner, with not much experience of the game. I recommened this bat because of its value for money, as a junior or beginner, you don't want to be paying too much money for a bat, as it is all about fun, and not being too serious. As for the bat itself, you get what you pay for, you know when you pay around £20 your not going to get the best bat ever, but for a junior or beginner to the game it would be excellent due to its durability and weight. The bat my brother bought still exists now, well worn but he still uses it to this day, around a year or two ago when he bought it, he likes it and hes picky! ...LOOKS This Bat in my view is one of the best looking bats around and has not got to much pictures on the bat like the Kookaburra angry beast. I think the blue and red go very well together and really look good. Even the grip fits in with the style having blue slashes on it done by "the beast". The beast itself is not overdone but it still noticeable from a distance. I think the fact that the wood is unbleached giving it a more white effect looks better for it's style than a darker wood. I love the looks because you can really show the bat off and not worry about being seen bating with it. POWER The middle on this bat is awesome you can hit a cricket ball miles and you really know when you have caught it right. Do i want one - they are not specialists?

Advantages: Style, capability, power, excellent forgiving profile for the all-round player
Disadvantages: unknown lifespan / durability

...The Puma Classic 4000 is a superb willow blade from my limited experience to date I purchased one 4 months ago and have not looked back since, i know people say but they are not a specialist bat manufacturer - no fair enough but then again Asics are not a specialised cricket boot manufacturer but if you have ever tried a pair of their boots during a game you would definitely get them as they have brought their experience in foot comfort / support to the cricket field and excelled! Puma bats are just the same, they have invaded the market to try and get their share which is fair enough however they are not bringing along poor quality willow for players to use. .... Puma is a great make of which I have had many things as trainers, bags and clothing, and they have all been durable yet fashionable. Although the shin pads are for protection and not what they look like, as socks when playing football mainly hide them, it's an added bonus if they look good. Just to let any lads needing some new pads these would be a highly recommended purchase as they are well tough, I have been clattered loads of times since buying them and been ok. Studs are not able to break or penetrate the plastic on the outside and the reinforcing and padding would give you extra protection if this did occur. Which I would be very surprised if it did, another point id due to the thickness you may need a size up in socks to cater for the thickness. ...Owned a Puma from new for 18mths now, so had quite sometime to get to know it's characteristics. During the time I've owned the car, its price has fallen dramatically, especially thru car importing. You can pick up a new Puma from Holland now for around 10K, with all mod-cons. My Pumu can be quite a guzzler of fuel (as can any car driven with lead-feet), but generally I average around 27mpg. Servicing falls in at around GPB100 every 12K miles. The insurance is a group 12E, making the car quite expensive to own for younger drivers. Externally the car is layed out as a 2 door - coupe, with bug-eye projector front-lights and neat rear light-nests.
