Wonderful Puma
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by alexander50

Advantages: Cheap to run and service, reliable, good resale, drop dead looks, easy to drive
Disadvantages: Cheap interior fittings, rear parcel shelf comes off its mountings, cold gearleaver handle in winter.

...I always wanted a Puma but felt they were a little overpriced, that is until I saw a car supermarket advertising Pumas for £11950!I rushed off and bought without a second thought and have had very little reason to regret. The car is now a year old and has covered 11,000 miles without any mechanical problems whatsoever. The first service has just been completed by a Ford dealership at a very reasonable £130.The service was very good in spite of the fact that I purchased the car from a supermarket and a small warrenty claim was dealt with no problem. The car drives like a dream is economical and its Yamaha derived engine is a pleasure being both powerful and extremely feul efficient.I added fitted carpets which cover the really cheap looking interior carpet but are expensive for what you get.I also had Puma mudflaps fitted as the tyres stand... the king of footy boots
Review of Puma King Pro by Deviant

Advantages: wide fitting, kangeroo
Disadvantages: expensive

...Ever since I was a kid I wanted a pair of puma kings and now I finally have them they do not disappoint. Having wide feet these boots fit me alot better than other brands(namely addidas predators that didnt fit at all well). The aluminium tipped studs are still firm in after 1 season with no sign of becoming loose or dangerous. Due to the material used Pittards 80 SDL leather they do not shrink when wet and breath well. The boots are easy to clean and the stitching and general manufacted quality is of a very high standard. However the age old techonology of studs is behind other boots unlike the predators and newer puma kings tend to hurt the parts of your feet where the studs are on harder ground in a hard game. These boots will last and work hard when you do.... Read review

The king of comfort and control
Review of Puma King Pro by JonBoyAce

Advantages: Comfortable, reliable, simple but effective.
Disadvantages: Might not appeal to someone after a flashy boot.

...After recently being persuaded by a friend to try on his Puma king Pro's, I rushed to the shops to purchase a pair of the exact same boot. In the past I had questioned the need for such an expensive pair of footwear. However, after using them for a period of time I can recommend them to any budding footballer. The Pittards upper is soft without losing the feel for a ball, with extreme comfort. Indeed, I have once worn them for a 5 hour football epic and my feet were only slightly sore as opposed to blistered all over. Also, after treating them with little respect by leaving them to become mouldy in a plastic bag, the leather is still extremely soft and the boot is a joy to slip on. On the field the Puma King Pro acts as it should do, it lets you feel the ball, it grips the ball well when adding curl, and translates the power from your... Read review

Puma Ballistic 4000
Review of Puma Ballistic 4000 by martin0201

Advantages: High quality cricket bat
Disadvantages: Little pricey

... Puma Ballistic 4000 The Product This is a cricket bat, made by the Australian based manufacturer Puma. Puma make all sorts of sports equipment, but have only recently moved into the manufacture of cricket bats. They have, however, exploded onto the scene and are now amongst the most popular manufacturers. This particular bat is a Puma Ballistic 4000. All the Puma bats come in a series of grades, 5000, 4000 and 3000. Therefore, the 4000 is a middle range bat, but as the quality of all the Puma bats is so high, this is like a high grade bat from any other producer. The Ballistic is characteristic for its thick edges and enhanced sweet spot, making it a bat for players of power rather than precision. The 4000 model is made from Grade 1 English willow, the highest you can get. The only thing that differs from the 4000... Read review

My Pretty Kitty Kat
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by carysb

Advantages: Coupe, Sleek, Attractive, Handles Well,
Disadvantages: Space

...FORD PUMA 1.7 16v Exterior On first impressions the ford puma looks like a sleek coupe, and that is exactly what it is. The shape is curvy and stylish and the body sits close to the ground. My Puma is Medium Steel Blue in colour which can be seen in the attached images, and is a 1.7 standard car. However Ford made 4 different types of Puma and they can all be found on the road. The standard 1.6 16v (which replaced the 1.4) or 1.7 16v range were produced between 1997 and 2002. They are available in the following colours; Moondust Silver, Colorado/Radiant Red, Panther Black, Medium Steel Blue, Melina Blue, State Blue and Jewel/Pacific Green. The special edition Puma Black was produced in 2000, the Millennium Yellow Puma was introduced in 2000 for the Millennium and limited to 1000 in production, whilst the Ford Racing Puma, 1... Punchy Puma
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by stephbu

Advantages: Looks
Disadvantages: Insurance

...Owned a Puma from new for 18mths now, so had quite sometime to get to know it's characteristics. During the time I've owned the car, its price has fallen dramatically, especially thru car importing. You can pick up a new Puma from Holland now for around 10K, with all mod-cons. My Pumu can be quite a guzzler of fuel (as can any car driven with lead-feet), but generally I average around 27mpg. Servicing falls in at around GPB100 every 12K miles. The insurance is a group 12E, making the car quite expensive to own for younger drivers. Externally the car is layed out as a 2 door - coupe, with bug-eye projector front-lights and neat rear light-nests. The 'Bullit'-fuelled sleak-styling makes the car really stand out from all other Japanese and European cars. Performance is superb in all weathers. The engine is smooth, and produces... Read review

The looks say it all
Review of Ford Puma 1.4 by GazzaR

Advantages: Looks, handling, fun factor, all mod cons
Disadvantages: Visibility and rear passenger area

...When this car was bought from new, the 5 months waiting list had me very eager to get behind the wheel to see what she could do. And although not the quickest in the Puma range, the 1.4 still holds her own against similarly sized cars. The engine is quiet - very quiet. The 16v Zetec had me stalling a few times on the run home from the garage, but given half a chance, the Puma started to live up to it’s expectations. Absolutely stunning looks, a very smooth ride and stylish interior complete with climate control and CD player. The handling is superb, acceleration not bad, and the sports shift gear box gives the overall feel that you’re driving a very well built car. The only aspects of the Puma that let the side down are the rear passengers area and visibility. Unless you don’t mind sitting with your head angled at 45 degrees... Read review

This is one of Ford's better cars.
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by Stevis2002

Advantages: Handling, Looks
Disadvantages: Older models don't stop too well.

...I have owned a Ford Puma for the last 12 months now, and prior to that I used to help build them. I am very happy with my car. It is a 1.7 vct Lux (2001, YReg). The standard features on the Puma 1.7 are, electric windows, heated rear windscreen,cd player, abs, air conditioning, pas, alloy wheels, and traction control. With the Lux pack, you also get Quick clear, heated front windscreen, electric mirrors, Puma embossed carpet mats and chrome scuff shields. The problem with earlier Puma's is that they wasn't very good at stopping from speed, but Ford realised this problem and made the newer models with larger front brake discs on them. The later Lux pack models also have a 6 disc cd stack system in as opposed to the standard 1 disc. The performance of the Puma is very good, as is the engine. The 0-60 speed for the 1.7 is about 7... I own a cat a dog and a "PUMA"
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by cabsookie

Advantages: very pretty to look at gets you noticed.
Disadvantages: blind spots

...Puma owner my story.... Hello, firstly I'm not a hairdresser ha ha, it seems lots of my family friends and work colleagues refer to my car as a hairdresser's car, well its not and im not I am in actual fact a nurse. I discovered the puma when I decided to look for a new car I bought magazines and local papers to review " The puma" I don't know that much about cars so I go for looks and wow is this car good looking. After I found a one I liked the look of (a black one) I decided to visit the garage, I saw the car at a local garage and asked the dealer about this beauty they told me some of the features, I was told that the car handles well, is reliable, its a head turner and though a sports car it's affordable and could possibly run some of the more expensive so called sportier cars off the road. In my experience since purchasing... Read review

Puma 1.6 Litre
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by steve.toplis

Advantages: Excellent Handling
Disadvantages: Impractical & too small.

...You might be thinking why an opinion on a 1.6l Puma has been written under the 1.7l heading? Well, after requesting a heading for the 1.6l, I'm still waiting. So what about the car? Body wise, it is identical to the 1.7l version bar the engine. Suspension, brakes and interior are identical. The 1.6l produces about 15bhp less than the 1.7l version does. What does this mean in the real world? The 1.7l version will get from 0 to 60 in just under a second less and has a higher top end. In practise, most people do not take advantage of the additional power to spring them from 0 to 60. The power is far more useful during normal acceleration. The main difference between the two is that the 1.7l pulls better than the 1.6l meaning gear changes are less. Not much can be made of the acceleration though, when we have pocket rockets like the Clio... Read review
