Punta Prima, the family resort.
Advantages: Ideal for families
Disadvantages: The beach gets a little windy at times.
...If you like Spain and have young children then go to Menorca and stay at Punta Prima. It is a small resort with many visitors during the day but a lot quieter on a night. It is ideal for families with younger children, if you take them for a meal on a night time there are not a lot of older teenagers hogging the pool tables etc.
The beach is clean and the sea is shallow, you can wade out for quite a distance before it gets too deep. Sometimes it gets a little windy and the sand gets blown about a bit but in general the breeze is more than welcome. If you stay self catering then the food prices in the shops are very reasonable. Finally, if you do go to Punta Prima you must visit the pub called "La Bolera", run by Jordi and Brenda, you will recieve the warmest welcome you will ever have....

Prima -One of the Best!
Advantages: Covers many topics with affordable ideas
Disadvantages: You don't want to throw them out!
...Prima ? a magazine name known to many, and quite rightly so because Prima means first or leading and I feel it is a leading magazine in the area it covers and it certainly covers lots of areas.
It started back in October 1986, and although at that time I thought it was expensive I did buy it as there was always a free pattern and I made a lot of my clothes in those days, so it was a bargain. This magazine has moved with the times and is bang right up to date now and is one of the popular magazines sold at most newsagents, although many people have it delivered as this is a perfect start to your day ? or used to be when post came in a morning! Although probably not aimed at the younger end of the market it does have some articles suitable for all ages.
I always buy one at the airport at it is a magazine that you can pick up...

Menorca, a family paradise?
Advantages: Scenic, quiet family orientated beaches, short travel time.
Disadvantages: Expensive, maybe too quiet for some.
...When booking our first family holiday abroad, we wanted somewhere quiet and not a 'party' resort. We also wanted somewhere with a short flight time. Menorca (or Minorca) fit the bill. It was described in the brochures as a quiet island with lovely beaches, and was a 2 hour flight from the UK.
We decided to book a package holiday so that we had someone to hold responsible if something went wrong with any aspect of it. We booked through First Choice and paid £1450 for a weeks self catering for 2 adults and 4 children the 2nd week of July. We booked a 2 bed apartment.
THE APARTMENTS
The apartments were called Mestral and Lleibeig Apartments in the southern resort of Santo Tomas. We had a 2 bed apartment that slept 6 people, 2 on a sofa bed. The apartment was spacious and had a lovely large sun terrace. the complex had 2 play...

Prima - just for old ladies?
Advantages: Loads of ideas for your home, lots of beauty advice
Disadvantages: Some of it aimed at an older audience
...I was given a 12 month subscription to this magazine as a christmas present from my husband. I must admit when I saw the subscription was for Prima I was a little disappointed as my general opinion of this magazine without ever really reading one before was that this was meant for older ladies, not a 25 year old!
However, my husband had also got me a subscription to Company, which is one of my favourites magazines so I thought,I'll read the first issue and if it's no good I will pass them on to my mum, it should be just up her street! (Bless him, hubby thought he knew which magazines I read, at least he got one right!)
When the first issue arrived I was surprised to see how modern it looked from the front cover! Maybe my first opinion had been wrong? As I leafed through the magazine I found that it had articles ranging from...

Why I keep going back to the Sur Menorca
Advantages: Excellent place for young children.
Disadvantages: Quite a way from the main village, but reflected in the price.
...dishes, and some fish. There is a lack of vegetarian options though, which has been a problem for me, and the food isn't labelled so you wouldn't know if some of the dishes have meat in them, and the restaurant staff don't speak much English.
It's a good 20-30 minute walk from the main village and the beach, but it's a nice stroll along a wide pathway, safe for a family. There's a free water park just near the village, although it's very small but good entertainment for younger children. The beach-front shops have plenty of snacks and gifts and the beach is beautiful. There's a free mini-bus from the hotel that runs every 10 minutes or so. There's also a road-train that runs from Punta Prima right through to Binibeca, and while it's not cheap, it's a nice round-trip and keeps kids amused for a while - and Binibeca is lovely.
I would...

Cala N Bosch- Menorca
Advantages: Great sights, lovely weather, fantastic location
Disadvantages: None
...Hi there!
I have just returned back today from Menorca, and had such a fantastic time, I wanted to share my experience in case anyone is looking for a brilliant holiday in the near future.
Myself and my partner arrived in Mahon (the recently made capital of Menorca) on 4th May 2007. We were travelling with Thomas Cook, and had booked a week in the Valentin Star Hotel (4*) located in Cala N Bosch on the South west Coast of Menorca. We had booked half board, which also included in flight meals. Booking about 6 months in advance, and booking online via the internet, the entire package for 2 of us cost the bargain price of under £500! I believe we saved about £400 by booking online. Transfers were also included, and all in all, the service was quick, efficient, and with friendly staff.
Environment:
Menorca is noted for its...

PRIMA MAGAZINE
Advantages: Great and interesting magazine
Disadvantages: Lots of adverts
...Finding out that I was expecting again was a big shock for me. I am already the mother to 3 girls and in a few weeks I will be the 40. Anyone would think that I would know exactly what to do and how to do it but I don't think you ever get used to it and every pregnancy is different. My latest bundle of joy is due in October and will be born but caesarean. Like all expectant mothers I rushed out and bought baby magazines. I was surprised by the lack of choice but did find a monthly magazine that is very helpful and full of tips.
The magazine is called Prima Baby and Pregnancy; it is just over 140 pages long. The first few pages have the index and what special features there are inside. They then introduce you to the experts that give advice throughout the issue. I found this to be very helpful as at least I know that they are...

When it rains in Menorca......
Advantages: peaceful
Disadvantages: .....almost too peaceful
...I didn't have the greatest experience in Menorca, which I can partly blame myself for due to the lack of planning along with a desperate urge to get away from the 9-5. However, I can't be held completely responsible. Perhaps some of you can even learn from my mistakes......I know I have!
The plan was a last minute get away, short flight, somewhere peaceful and sunny, that was easy on the pocket. Not too much to ask for.....so I thought.
The first mistake I made was the timing. Me and my mother flew out to Menorca on the 2nd October for a week, this was 2 weeks before the end of season. The weather in Menorca can be quite unpredictable at this time of year, which is always useful in hindsight. For the first time ever as the plane took off, I had to shut the plane window, to protect my eyes from the blinding Manchester sun...

Prima time reading!
Advantages: Lots of personal advice, competitions, freebies.
Disadvantages: A lot of articles are repeated over the years.
...When I first found out that I was pregnant, to say I was surprised was a bit of an understatement. I began to stock up on all sorts of baby books and magazines to try and prepare myself for the big arrival. I purchased three or four books and found that not only did they cost a lot but they didn?t give me advice in a friendly way, and tended to read more like a text book. It was like being lectured at, and I found it disconcerting to say the least. Baby magazines however were available to buy at a much more reasonable price and are bright, have lots of gorgeous pictures, and are filled with up-to-date, friendly advice and tips.
Now that my daughter is almost two I feel that I have come to a point with all of my baby magazines. I paid for a subscription to Prima Baby last year for the bargain price of £9.99 for the eleven issues over...

Prima example
Advantages: Easy folding mechanism,
Disadvantages: Expensive end of the range
...When my daughter started sitting unaided, I decided to buy a highchair and as my house is not very big, I decided that a folding highchair would be my best option, and also the tidiest option as it could be easily stored when not being used.
After looking at a selection in my local Mothercare, I paid £104 for the Prima Pappa, although I saw it a few weeks later reduced to £88, which upset me a bit. Some of you may think this is expensive, but when you consider the years of use this highchair will have to endure it is worth every penny. (SueMagee has just paid £4 less than this for a kettle!!!!)
If you are looking for a lightweight highchair, then I would advise you to check out some other highchairs as this one weighs over a stone and a half, although it does not feel that much when you pick it up, and I managed to move it about no...
