BBC Radio 1 Review

Advantages: Great Djs, Good music, Funny
Disadvantages: Run by BBC

...Hi today i will be reviewing BBC Radio 1. I usually listen to Radio 1 at night as its something to do while trying to get to sleep (not a bad thing!). I personally enjoy the Chris Moyles Show and Scott Mills mainly because I find Chris funny and Scott has some great features from the old angry pizza man wind up to the new Whats Becky's Forté which features Becky the Assistant Producer trying to find that talent she excels at. The Chris Moyles show is different than most other shows on Radio 1 in that its not just the presenter that gets involved the whole team have a great time and in turn help you to get ready for whatever your going to. During the day there is Jo Whiley, Sarah Cox and Edith Bowman. I personally don't listen to these just because I'm usually busy. For the few times I have listened to them they do film...

Another Winner~ Real Radio

Advantages: Worldwide, Funny, Different, Cool
Disadvantages: None Really

...A real review on real radio 100 to 101 fm I thought about doing this review for such a long time~ So here goes. **A little about Real Radio Scotland** Real radio is Scotland's number one commercial radio station with 649,000 adult listeners per week. Real radio was previously known as Scot Fm until about 5yrs ago when they moved premises and joined a larger radio group called Guardian Media Group Radio which have several of the leading radio stations under there belts including 102.2 jazz fm (London) and 100.4 ( North West England). GMGR is currently applying to OFCOM which is the company that regulates the radio license. Real radio is based at Glasgow Business park which is about 10/20 minute drive from Glasgow. There address is: Real radio PoBox 101 Unit 1130 Parkway Court G69 6GA Tele~ 0141 781 1011 Fax...

Radio 2 -- Easy Listening With Style!

Advantages: Diverse shows that appeal across the spectrum
Disadvantages: The mix can be a little strange at times.

...I always find it surprising as to the diversity of Radio 2, the schedule on any given night could contain a short half hour program about Folk music and another night a program about Theatre organs can be heard, I have listened to both and realised there is more to life than listening to such stations as Happy FM (or Capital) that tend to play the same record over and over again every two hours. Besdes these stations appear to be aimed at someone about 15 years younger than myself anyway. Radio 2 on the other hand caters for people of my age and boy they certainly deliver, I always tend to be in the car coming home or going somewhere when Elaine Paige is broadcasting. Sometimes the journey can be from hell at worst and other times just damn right boring. So to experience the diversity that Radio 2 offer on a Sunday is a bonus...

...And Your Radio's Def When My Record's On

Advantages: Classic Hip Hop
Disadvantages: A couple of the tunes are a little weak

..."Radio" is the debut release from LL Cool J, a rapper who has stuck with his record label, Def Jam since its creation a year before this album came out. LL's 1985 record came 23 years before his latest release "Exit 13" which recently came out, and so clearly this one shows how long he's been in the game, and the progression he has made. Upon release, Ladies Love Cool James (LL Cool J), the MC was only 17 years old, and had shown strong potential, which he clearly lived up to. 1. "I Can't Live Without My Radio" The track which the album is named after is the one to get things started for this album as you have LL Cool J come on some hard Rick Rubin beats about how his life revolves around his radio, and the music which it plays for him. Thsi is a powerful way to kick it all off, and you are bound to enjoy it. **Four Stars** 2...

The funky looking handy shower radio:)

Advantages: Very Loud, Clear Speaker, Long battery Life
Disadvantages: Annoying Tuning

...Hello and welcome to this review This is one funky radio! Gone are the days of silent showers, I now blast this handy gadget every morning. I personally recieved this radio as a gift and I am extremely pleased with it. The radio is a very nice design. It is an exact replica of Homers Head from the World Famous simpsons programme. The picture above shows what the radio looks like^ The radio comes in a very nice looking box, its very colourful in the simpsons way! and would easily capture someones eye in a shop. The nice box also makes this a great gift for anyone. When the Homer radio comes out of the box it is almost ready for instant use. Just open the battery compartment and pop in the batteries and Away You Gooo! One thing I noticed when I opened the box is how good the quality of this radio is. It feels very strong...

Review of Wesco WF002 Homer HEAD Radio

A useful accessory. Not the best radio.

Advantages: Useful remote for your iPod. Extra earphones. Well integrated with the software.
Disadvantages: Expensive. Not a good quality radio.

...This thing is overpriced. £35 to have a function that should be built into an ipod as standard. Having said that you can often buy them for half that price on ebay and they are quite useful - it is not just a radio but also a remote and a spare pair of heaphones (with a nice shorter cable). As a replacement pair of original Apple headphones are close to £20, you may as well shop around for this little bundle instead. Even if you do not want a radio it is nice to keep your iPod in your bag or coat and control it with a Shuffle style remote. I used to have a Griffin radio and remote for my iPod (Griffin 9125-IFM30 iFM - FM Radio and Remote for iPod) . It was okay and I think the radio had better reception. I still prefer the Apple version as the control for the remote is similar to the one on the iPod (and identical to that on the i...

My local Radio Station

Advantages: Peak shows are excellent
Disadvantages: None

...My local Radio Station. Let me tell you a bit about my local radio station. Based in Liverpool city centre in the most prominent of positions visible for miles around is what is now know as the Radio City Tower. Prior to Radio City taking over this venue a few years ago it had been left empty when the previous occupant vacated. Initially it was a revolving restaurant the top of a tower. Tower is cylindrical in shape and looks like it has a large flying saucer sitting on the top with radio antenna sticking up into the sky. Transmission coverage - North West and North Wales but if you do not live in the area you can always listen in on line. What do they do. Well they are a commercial radio station so there are always adverts between the songs but this is how they keep going and are able to grow every year into...

RADIO NUMBER SIX

Advantages: Music policy, presenters, quality.
Disadvantages: Not freely available to all - Dig TV/DAB/Internet needed

...Radio 6 is a recent addition to the BBC?s fine network of radio stations. This station may come as a surprise to you, or you may have seen trailers for it on BBC TV. The station is not available on your traditional FM or AM tuners, as it is an entirely digital entity ? and FM is not digital. Also, the FM bands are pretty full nowadays in some parts of the country. Full of useless commercial better music mix tat really. Radio 6 is one of many new stations that have been developed for the relatively new DAB platform. This is Digital Audio Broadcasting, and the intention is to eventually have DAB as a standard for radio, replacing FM. Whether or not this happens remains to be seen, but let?s hope so. DAB has many stations in crystal clear CD quality, available nationwide, and includes all the BBC stations, Virgin, XFM, oh and even 2...

Radio 5. Live?

Advantages: Can be good
Disadvantages: Can be bloomin' awful!

...Radio 5 Live is a curious amalgam of programming. There is a predominance of live sports coverage, with perhaps less specialist news programming than would be idea. If they could get this balance right, then Radio 5 Live would be well on the way to being perfect. I do not like Nicky Campbell. I am sorry about this, but there's something about Mr Campbell that I can't quite take to. I know he is a very bright and clever person, (first class honours in history, or so I seem to recall) but after listening to his broadcasts I get the impression that Nicky Campbell is thinking: "God, yes! Aren't I the clever one?!" Even so, Nicky Campbell is a good, professional broadcaster, as are most of the other broadcasters on Radio 5 Live. There are some Paxman wannabes who's interview techneique and grasp on reality leaves a lot to be desired...

McFly - Radio:Active

Advantages: mix of songs, no obvious filler
Disadvantages: maybe childish in parts

...Mcfly, having recently split from their record label, made a deal with the Mail on Sunday to distribute their newest album, 'Radio:Active' with the newspaper, an aim to reach it's vast readership. Having had great success with their previous three albums, and a greatest hits compilation, as well as sell-out tours accross Britain, they have released a new album to fully establish themselves as the premiere pop/rock band in the UK, a genre they have dominated since Busted split. Radio:Active starts with a 70's feeling song, 'Do Ya, an upbeat number giving Danny, Tom and Dougie to demonstarte the harmonies they specialise in. It is an excellent track to open with, full of fun and synonomous with the style that has made McFly the force they are. They slow the tone with second song 'Falling in love', a classily put together mid-paced song...
