Intel Xeon The Best Server Processor!
Advantages: Fast, Cheap, Stable
Disadvantages: Nothing
...1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from store. Pros: Excellent performance per watt. I'll be using these processors in a machine that will be doing a lot of video compression and 3D modeling, which are some of the applications that Intel processors are better suited for than A M D's (comparing the Clover town X e o n to the Barcelona O p t e r o n). I like A M D's C P U s too, but I n t e l s are the better tool for these jobs. Cons: None so far, but there is a caveat that purchasers should be aware of. The LGA771 socket requires a special case that accommodates the heat sink for the processors. The LGA771 specs require that the heat sink be attached directly to the case instead of the motherboard. And so the case needs a special set of standoffs or a mounting plate for the heat sink to screw onto. Intel says the case...

competitive with quad core processors
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: none
...Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3.16 GHz
***
This is my favorite processor and I love to have this in my one of the PC at home due to its great performance and speed. Some processors are really very affordable and trustable with long run capacity and features to provide similar kind of performance as new one. This processor also a kind of processor which can give us reliable performance with its advanced features and speed.
***
Core2 duo family from Intel is very popular and most of the desktop PCs and notebooks have this one as first priority. We haven't seen quad core processor in any notebook and core 2 duo processors are most popular with almost all notebooks. But there are slightly differences in notebook processors and desktop processors. We have some low power consuming series processors for notebooks and slightly higher one for desktop...

THE INTEL PROCESSOR.
Advantages: HAS FAST PROCESSING ABILITIES.
Disadvantages: : THE FAN CAUSES NOISE.
...The Intel processor has made me to see many reasons to update my PC with It. The Intel processor since I installed it has been serving me very well. My most likes on it is that it is very fast in processing and that has paved way for my pc to perform many things like in the case of playing games with my pc and the rest of them.
The processor is quite easy to install so when it comes to that, there is no problem in doing that but to achieve a reliable goal on installation, you must have to read the instruction manual very well for the manufacturers brief description on the product.
The installation of this processor has given my pc a very good processing speed and abilities.
I got this because this was the best processor I could afford to buy at that moment. Well I look forward on buying another advanced make of the Intel...

THE INTEL PROCESSOR.
Advantages: VERY HIGH SPEED IN PROCESSING
Disadvantages: : MAKES NOISE.
...I got this just for two reasons; the number one reason is that my other Intel seems to be outdated and the number two reasons is that I wanted a more advanced and faster processor for my PC gaming so I had to buy this for these reasons. The processor comes in an orange packed colour with blue stripe at the edge of the pack and also with an instruction, heat stick and fan for cooling down the temperature.
The processor makes it outright for easy installation and application so no problem when it comes to installations and ease of use.
The Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHZ socket 775 CPU has hyper technology and I think that was the best processor computer product I could find in the market and I decided to buy it after a long battle between Intel and athlon processor on which one to buy. The Intel processors that I have been using have been...

Intel Core i7 920 Review
Advantages: Fast, quad core, best for gaming, runs cool, big cache size
Disadvantages: price
...The Intel core i7 is the new processor range from Intel. The core i7 is the fastest processor yet to be unleashed into the marked. It comes in three different models at the moment however there are plans to release another 3 more. At the moment of when this review was written there are only three types; 920 (2.66 GHz), 240 (2.93 GHz) and the 940 Extreme Processor (3.2 GHz). each of the processors have 8MB of cache which means you will be able to run your PC faster as it will use large memory to process the information. the i7 is also a quad core CPU which means it will multi-task extremely well.
When I used this Processor on my system, it ran extremely fast and only using about 8% of CPU usage when opening programs, surfing the web, watching a DVD. It rarely goes over 50% when playing games such as Counter Strike: Source and Left 4...

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / 2.4 GHz processor
Advantages: handle multiple tasks at same time and doesnt slow pc.
Disadvantages: potentially waste of money
...the latest processor from intel, the new intel core 2 quad is the most powerful processor available for the average home pc. The 2.4GHz processor is more than enough for everyday tasks on your pc. This is perfect if you do hardcore gaming, video editing etc or both! The four cores allow you to simultaneously do alot of tasks on the pc and it will not slow down your pc. As more and more software for pc's need a lot of processing power, this processor is the most up to date and the most powerful as yet. The downside to getting this would be that as computing power of computers are increasing faster and faster with respect to time, the quad core processor will no doubt be yesterdays news within a few months as intel have plans to release an octa-core processor which will then outdate this one....

Intel D945 Processor
Advantages: Speed, Price.
Disadvantages: Old Technology, Power consumption.
...Introduction:
As Intel continues to offer new technology processors at very affordable price, the older technology processor's price has fallen dramatically to a very low level. The prices for processors are at record low level. This has helped the end user to build some inexpensive systems using the high end processors of the last generations. Although one generation behind in core architecture, the Intel D945 processor is able to perform excellently.
Architecture:
The processor is based on 65 nm fabrication process, which is common to Core 2 Duo's as well but has a different core architecture compared to that of Intel Core 2 Duo processors. It is based on, not so popular Net Burst architecture. It is dual core, for sure and fits in any motherboard having LGA775 socket.
General Information:
This processor runs at a whopping...

A good value quad core
Advantages: Quad core, cheap, good socket,
Disadvantages: low cache, high power consumption
...A nice entry-level quad core for those who are really concerned with having four cores.
Phenoms are far cheaper than the rival core 2 quad brand, but do offer less cache.
This CPU handles load very well, and for £90 (best price i have found) this is a very impressive little chip.
I would consider aiming at an upmarket Athlon64x2, perhaps the black edition and spending the extra on some RAM. If you are really set on a quad (which most applications do not fully utilize yet) then it may be worth upgrading to the 2.3 or 2.4Ghz model.
This runs pretty cool with a good 3rd party cooler, mine sits at about 45C which is very comfortable for a quad.
Its cheap, powerful and reliable, but it sits in limbo in my opinion between high end Athlon64x2 and higher clockage Phenom x4s....

Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 Review
Advantages: 4 cores, great performance, future proof
Disadvantages: may require bios update, high power consumption
...Based on the same quad core architecture as Core2 Extreme QX6700 but with lower speed, with 4 cores this processor is really recommended especially for multitasking, multimedia encoding applications, but in generally is good at everything.
The speed. The processor speed depend especially of the aplications used, in some is slower than a dual core processor but in four cores optimized applications this processor rocks.
Ease of installation: A little difficult because of the socket 775, require the main board to be removed from the case, check the cooler to click with all 4 connectors.
Stability: As all Intel processor is great but I recommend using a good 3'rd party cooler
Power consuming. This processor uses 120w max, recommend a 500w power source.
Other:check the main board/bios if support quad processor before installing...
