...I bought this for our office server which before-hand was running a DDS5 tape drive. I have to say the DDS5 backup system we had was excellent and never caused me any problems. We got to a point where we needed two tapes to do a backup, and considering we keep backups for up to a month, thats a hell of a lot more tapes we would have to buy. After a lot of research and learning about DLT and SDLT, we discovered the V160. DLT allows backups to 40GB (80GB Compressed) and SDLT is alot more (i forget the figures). DLT would not have been enough and SDLT is a hell of a lot more expensive. Quantums V160 is right in the middle of the two and each tape can store up to 160GB data if compressed. ...Enterprise backups are important... as we all know. I've long trusted DLT technology and the DLT-8000 doesn't disappoint. As long as you know how to get the most from a tape drive, and a SCSI subsystem in general, you won't have any problems, but you will have greatly shortened backups. I've obtained nearly 350MB/minute with this drive. On an 100GB server, that puts the backup window at less than 5 hours! There are two keys to getting the most out of these drives. First, ensure that your tape drive firmware is updated. There were at least 2 or 3 different versions that have been improved upon since these drives first came out. The update is really as simple as making the tape with a free utility, pushing a couple of buttons on the drive and inserting the update tape. Now I'm hoping that the reason you're reading this is not because of the latter, but rather because you're worried because you haven't got any backup system in place and don't want to loose any work. This opinion is based on my experiences of installing and using NovaBack+ at work. The version of NovaBack+ we use is 6.60 and is installed on a PIII 600 machine with 128mb of RAM and Windows 95. Advantages: good graphics brilliant game play
Disadvantages: only 4 races to choose from

You can also play this game in multiplayer via LAN or Internet so you can destroy your friend’s armadas and egos. There are also tons of missions to do such as save the enterprise, do not let the enterprise be destroyed, do not let warfs ship be destroyed, do not let locutus be destroyed, umm destroy all enemy ships and bases in the area and many more, also the missions are quite difficult so you wont be able to finish them very quickly unless you cheat!!! I bought this game for about £6.00 in HMV which was a real bargain I thought and I’m sure you would probably to unless its gone down by now? ...Let me tell you a bit about Quantum Leap. It all started with a guy called Sam Beckett who is played by Scott Bakula, who worked in Quantum Physics and he tried to prove that there was a way to leap back in to the past and in the end it happened. Sam Beckett leaps from year to year trying to help people in the past. As Sam go through time he always hopes that he will go back home. His only companion is Al who is played by Dean Stockwell, Al is a hologram which only Sam can see, he travels around with him and helps by telling Sam what he is doing there, like in the past someone gets shot and Sam is there to stops that happening. While Sam is in the past he takes the part of the person he is suppose to be saving even though we see him as himself but when he looks into a mirror he has the reflection of the other person. ...Quantum leap is a pretty old show now but I used to enjoy watching it alot. Sam becket a scientist working on Quantum phsyics dicovers a way to "leap" between different times of the past. He leaps into peoples bodies and takes there physical form. He allways leaps into people who can help other people who have had something bad happon to them or something similar. The main theme to the stories is basicaly if Sam doesnt help the person in question by saving there life in some way etc then he cant leap to the next time. He hopes everytime that his next leap will be the leap home. He has a one companion on his journies that is Al, Al is invisible to everyone but Sam and sometimes Sam ends up looking like he is talking to himself as people stare at him in disbelief.
