... * Mary Queen of Scots and Her Hopeless Husbands (Dead Famous) Review * This book is part of the quite popular Dead Famous series which I quite recently got in a box set and each book averaged out at about £2 instead of the usual £4.99 which was quite a bargain and encouraged me to buy these books! The books is 208 pages long but could be read quite quickly die to the fact it is similar to the Horrible History books and has various cartoons, letters, pictures in it which keep the book from being boring but also take up quite a large amount of room. This particular book is all about Mary Queen of Scots and her exciting life. Within a week of being born her father died so Mary became Queen of Scots and a monarch ? not bad! She is soon sent over to France to marry her first husband who was a bit useless and was also Queen...

Queen Mary

Advantages: Power, Accuracy, Presige
Disadvantages: Speed, Inconsistency

...Mary Pierce is a very up and down player. When she is playing well, she wins tournaments with ease, such as Hilton Head 2000, where she only lost 12 games in 4 matches, but when she isn't playing great, she can lose first round and look as if she hadn't played in a year or so. Mary was the suprise winner of the 2000 French Open, beating Martina Hingis in the semi finals and Conchita Martinez in the final. She has a very up and down relationship with the french public. They love her when she wins and hate her when she doesn't, however I believe now she has her "home" grand slam under her belt, she will be cut some slack until next year. ...King of Queens is an American sitcom set in New York. The King in question is Doug Heffernan and the Queens they relate to is actually the suburb of New York he lives in with his wife Carrie. I think this title is a really clever play on words and sets the scene for quite a funny sitcom in my opinion. Doug and Carrie are the main couple in this sitcom and it?s really them that the whole show revolves around. They have a nice relationship but bicker like most couples and they really play on each others stereotypes to get the laughs out of the audience. For example Doug is rather fat and so they definitely play this up on the show. He is generally always eating my Carrie facilitates this by buying him or making him his favourite foods. This month's issue (Jan) has 244 pages, plus a 32 page special about hair at the back (confusingly upside down). It has an expensive glossy feel to it with heavy quality pages. However a rough estimation tells me that over 50% of it's content is ads!!. In fact, I leaf through 8 pages of ads before I even get to the editorial. Drama Queen!

Advantages: Superb script and acting, challenging your views, simply fantastic
Disadvantages: Some scenes are just speculative

...I was quite shocked to see that ITV were screening the Oscar winning movie "The Queen" already on Sunday night, so I knew I had to tune in to see what all the fuss was about. As you may or may not know, The Queen won lead actress Helen Mirren an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Award at the Venice Film Festival for being the Best Actress, along many others both for Helen Mirren, and the film was a whole. It has been hugely successful, and because of this I was thoroughly looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about! The film shows us the events from when Tony Blair was elected as Prime Minister in 1997, to the death of Princess Diana at the end of August 1997.
