...King of Queens is an American sitcom set in New York. The King in question is Doug Heffernan and the Queens they relate to is actually the suburb of New York he lives in with his wife Carrie. I think this title is a really clever play on words and sets the scene for quite a funny sitcom in my opinion. Doug and Carrie are the main couple in this sitcom and it?s really them that the whole show revolves around. They have a nice relationship but bicker like most couples and they really play on each others stereotypes to get the laughs out of the audience. For example Doug is rather fat and so they definitely play this up on the show. He is generally always eating my Carrie facilitates this by buying him or making him his favourite foods. Drama Queen!

...I was quite shocked to see that ITV were screening the Oscar winning movie "The Queen" already on Sunday night, so I knew I had to tune in to see what all the fuss was about. As you may or may not know, The Queen won lead actress Helen Mirren an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Award at the Venice Film Festival for being the Best Actress, along many others both for Helen Mirren, and the film was a whole. It has been hugely successful, and because of this I was thoroughly looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about! The film shows us the events from when Tony Blair was elected as Prime Minister in 1997, to the death of Princess Diana at the end of August 1997. Advantages: The performances of the whole cast, subtle and powerful

...One of the most critically acclaimed and award-winning films of last year was Stephen Frears?s The Queen, starring the Oscar, Bafta and pretty much every other award-winning Helen Mirren as Elizabeth II. The Absolute Greatest Songs From Queen

Advantages: It's aimed more at newbies to Queen rather than die hard fans. It's still awesome though
Disadvantages: There's no point for diehard fans to get this, nothing new.

...I?m slightly cheating here for this review, no, unlike some reviews on this site, I have held the product in my hand and I have actually used it. I got the CD for one of my friends for Christmas, and before wrapping it up, I decided to sneakily put it on my ITunes. I am so glad I am now as this album has all of my favourites. I always seem to study the cover, even though I know I shouldn't.Thankfully though, the cover of 'The Queen of New Beginnings' is incredibly attractive. Advantages: An EXCELLENT musical experience

...Queen's FIRST album and one of their best. There is only one song that I personally don't like, Keep Yourself Alive, just because I heard it too many times. Another person commented in their review that "My Fairy King" had strange "wailing" at the beginning of the song. I think that wailing is GREAT and is sort of a signature sound of the earlier Queen material. It makes the song unique!! They also featured Roger's screeching on "In the Lap of the Gods", "Ogre Battle", and "39". I wouldn't want to hear these songs without the famous high pitched Roger-isms. They're an integral part of the experience!! Brian May's guitar work/songwriting on this LP is sheer perfection along with Freddie's vocals, instrumentation and songwriting. ...After all the Oscar nominations for best costume, score, director, original screenplay and movie and Helen Mirrens's best actress winning performance as Queen Elizabeth II, I really wanted to see The Queen (2006) and having missed it at the cinema it was on our DVD rental list. But to my surprise ITV were showing the Stephen Frears directed film this evening to coincide with the 10th anniversary with the death of Princess Diana so I settled in to watch it. The film focuses on the events, reactions and responses of the Royal Family, the British public and government in the week from the death of Diana to her funeral in 1997. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging.
