Kay Scarpetta is, obviously enough, the central character of the books in the Scarpetta series. She is a kind of female book version of TV?s Quincy, being the Chief Medical Examiner in Virginia, and working closely with the police and FBI in solving crimes. From what I?ve read in researching this review Scarpetta played only a minor role in Cornwell?s earliest works that were rejected but on the wise words of those publisher people to expand that character soon became the central character and to good effect, both for the readers of Cornwell?s books and of course for her bank balance. ...I was fascinated and puzzled to find this category but was not surprised by the lack of concern shown by other reviewers thus far. Such neglect is understandable. Anyone would be daunted by an attempt to make a qualitative judgement on two such seemingly disparate entities. There appears to be a false dichotomy. But I will not let that deter me. On the one hand, Quincy is an American TV series from the late 1970s and early 1980s. On the other, quinces are a fragrant, pear-like fruit. (I choose here to disregard the possibility that the Quincy referred to is Quincy Jones. I also propose to base my evaluation of the quince solely upon the non-ornamental variant of the fruit, rather than upon the whole plant, Cydonia oblonga.) Although some of her books feature these characters they are all classified as stand alone novels. The Story~ DD Warren is a tough talking female cop who is on the trail of a missing woman. The Jones are a normal couple. It seems that Jason Jones and his wife Sandra along with their daughter Ree had a normal life, until Jason comes home and finds his wife missing. All there is to prove this theory is a broken lampshade and some missing bed sheets. DD starts the investigation and finds that Jason and Sandra's life seems a little 'too' normal for her liking. Love and Basketball

Cyborg Cheese

Advantages: Hilariously bad from start to finish, brimming with 80s style charm

...of Kessel's elaborate plan to create the ultimate assassin. He has an earlier model already up and running however; the intimidatingly named "Quincy", who is perhaps the most laughably inempt robotic killer of all time. For example, in a demonstration set up by Kessel to demonstrate his creation's assassin skills to some wealthy investors, Quincy promptly upturns a limousine before setting himself on fire. In another scene he is supposed to burst menacingly through a wall, but the effects team obviously failed to account for his considerable height, so when smashing through the polystyrene wall Quincy whacks his head off the solid brickwork above and practically clothes-lines himself. The fact that this makes it into the final edit says a lot about just how brilliantly crap Cyborg Cop really is. There are plenty more such bloopers...

Price on my book £3.99, actually I bought it for 30p from local save the children charity shop. Looks new and has all the stickers. This book is suitable for 4 to 8 year olds. The book starts by introducing Leo, Annie, June and Quincy. They have a Rocket that will take us on our journey. The rocket can hear singing; turn the page to find out who it is. On the next page we are told to look at the red mushroom there is a monarch caterpillar on it. Quincy feeds the caterpillar he is hungry. Over the page there is a truck which stops to pick up...
