...Does Mr Kipling really make exceedingly good cakes??! Well, to argue for this say hello to the Lemon Slice... Each box of slices comes with six of the little treats in three sealed packs of two, so ideal for lunchboxes and keeps them fresh. The cakes themselves are approximately three-inch strips of sponge with a "zesty lemon icing"...not my words, the words of the front of the packaging. But true to his word, Mr Kipling has produced a zesty lemon icing, which makes the slices both refreshing and flavoursome. The sponge is very light and not at all stodgy which is never appetising. The icing has been fashioned on top of the slice with a yellow pattern on top of the white icing to give the illusion of lemon being 'drizzled' on it...giving it an asthetic thumbs up. ...Mr Kipling bakes exceedingly good cakes! ...Yes I can agree with that statement!. His bramley apple pies are good, attractive little pies ...if you can describe fruit pies in that way! So lets start from the very beginning...each pie would make an ideal teatime treat or an individual dessert served with ice cream or custard. The buttery shortcrust pastry is light and crumbly. Each pie has a little apple cut out on the top...a nice finishing touch...and the pie crust is liberally sprinkled with sugar. Now for the filling...a generously filled pie, when you take your first bite the apple oozes out and if you haven`t got a Kleenex to hand your chin can end up looking a mess! Q.V.C the channel for me

Advantages: No queues or crowds, products demonstrated,entertaining to watch, prompt delivery
Disadvantages: high p&p charges, some shows long winded and boring

...I don't know why, but I've always been a fan of mail order shopping..the choosing, the waiting, the parcel arriving on your doorstep..I guess it brings out the kid in me! Q.V.C is my favourite shopping channel because although there are many others, it is one of only three that are available on cable television as opposed to sky satellite..The other two IDEAL WORLD and BID-UP are nowhere near as good. Q.V.C is the longest running of the shopping channels having been on the air for more than ten years. Q.V.C offer a wide range of merchandise that is shown in shows of its type...for example jewellery, and each show usually lasts for one hour. India Through Kipling's Eyes

Advantages: Interesting and exciting
Disadvantages: The plot is a little weak at times

...I first read the novel Kim by Rudyard Kipling six years ago while studying literature at uni. It is by no means one of my favourite novels, but Kipling's style together with the plot makes it a very compelling read, and it is easy to get caught up in all the sights and smells in the novel. Kim is the story of Kimball O'Hara, an orphan who, at the beginning of the novel, lives in the city of Lahore in India. He is Irish by birth but can easily pass as Indian as he is bazaar-fostered (he more or less grew up on the streets) and years in the sun has given him the same skin tone as the natives. Kim can also speak numerous varieties of Hindi fluently and he blends in among people of different castes and is described as a "sahib" (a European man) who wears native clothes. I first came across QVC when I bought a freeview box and started flicking through the channels. At first I didn't see anything very interesting but carried on flicking over the next few weeks and one day found a show that did appeal to me and started watching and from then on I was a convert!. My husband used to say "you're not watching that again are you"but now even he has been known to watch the odd show as well as bought things. ...I have watched QVC for nearly one year now, and yes I have been tempted a few times and ordered a few of the products! I have found the delivery particularly quick and effecient, also when you have to return something it is as easy as they say on TV. On the whole it had been a trouble -free way of shopping for me, and as my health has been considerable under par, shopping centres and travelling to them have been off my agenda. I have been very pleased with some household cleaners I ordered, carpet shampoo, stain removers, etc., and also some jewellery I ordered for presents at Christmas time. ...that I have tried and it did not live up or do what I was led to believe but I have 30 days and I will get a refund, if it becomes faulty up to a year you will get a replacement or refund.On one occasion my bracelet broke and I had had it for well over a year it did take a while but I was refunded you would not get that in a high street store.The presenters are very good they have had a few which have been awful and not flowed as the others do and some good ones have left to go to other shopping channels but I think QVC is the best one out there.Try it if you were ever wondering have a go.you will not be sorry the phone numbers are free phone they have their own web site,credit card and magazine nothing for them is to much trouble....
