My first Yankee Candle disappointment

Advantages: Smells lovely in the jar, burns for a long time, fragrance fills the room
Disadvantages: smells different when burning to when solid

...I wrote in another review a while back about how much I adore Yankee Candles, and Dune Grass is the most recent addition to my collection. This (according to the shelf in my local Collectibles store) is a relatively new addition to the Yankee Candle family and it was one I hadn't seen before. Immediately I fell in love with the scent, and knew I was going to buy it. In fact, whereas I normally buy a Yankee tart or votive first to make sure I really like the fragrance, with this, I loved it so much I bought the medium sized jar straight away. Yankee candles are the best

Advantages: Massive range. longer lasting
Disadvantages: A little pricey but worth it

...My wife started buying this brand of candle a few years ago by chance. She is a stickler for the house looking and smelling 100% before she settles down in the evening.There are loads of candles on the market, but Yankee are way ahead in their field and are most deffinately the best. Every night of the week, its a ritual for my wife to have the candles lit and the room smelling fresh. We do like an odd cigarette at night, and although we smoke under the kitchen extractor fan, we are weary of the smell of cigarette smoke in the house. Our house is always open and there is always someone stopping by either to see one of our three sons or friends of ours,so, you will always find yankee candles burning every night after around 19.00. Gorgeous Candles

Advantages: Long Lasting, They Look Great, Gorgeous Scents
Disadvantages: They are expensive and the tea-lights aren't great

...Yankee Candles: On a recent trip to York, (truly the most terrifying experience of my life due to my agoraphobia and spaghetti junction ? boy is that thing evil), I saw some Yankee candles on half price offer in a little gift shop. I thought ?ooh I could get a few as Christmas/Birthday presents? but things didn?t work out quite like that. I took one of the candles off the shelf to sniff at it and the lid, (which wasn?t secured properly), fell off. The shop keeper was over in seconds and quickly found a broken jewellery stand and informed me that all breakages must be paid for before having a go at me and accusing me of picking up the candle by the lid. Needless to say I was peeved and so instead of spending a small fortune I paid the £5.00 for the broken tat and only purchased one candle. The candle I chose was a Canary Island Banana...

Review of Yankee Scented candles

You don't have to be a Yank to own a Yankee Candle

Advantages: Long burning time, vibrant fragrance without being overpowering
Disadvantages: Cost.

...I'm sure I've mentioned at least once before that I lived in America a while back for a whole year while I was on a work placement for my University Degree. I've always been a fan of scented things, be it Pot Pourri, Incense Sticks or scented candles of all different shapes and sizes but never before I lived in America had I owned a yankee candle, neither was I overly familiar with the brand itself. I lived in a little place called the Woodlands which was about an hours drive north of downtown Houston and just next to the Woodlands mall was the Yankee Candle Co, a store completely dedicated to Yankee candle products from candle jars and tea lights in pretty much any scent imaginable to accessories such as holders and burners. Yankee Candles-MY review!

Advantages: Smell :) amazing quality!
Disadvantages: the price and the possible 'burnt glass' look

...The smell oozes over the glass jar no matter what smell, i recommend, Fresh Laundry, Shea Butter in fact most! However , its the personal taste that will guide you to your candle. The smell, as soon as you lift the top off the candle you will smell it instantly, when burning it, the smell will spread to the room :) and fill the room up with a beautiful long lasting smell! The candles are VERY pricey, i believe too expensive for a candle, however, they do last a long time and i only have them bought for me or on offer, avoiding the big hole in my purse!! But i do ADORE these candles the aromatherapy ones fill you with a sense of calm and peace! the only bad point i have to make is, as the candle burns down the glass jar, it ha been known to leave black smoke marks all around the jar, making it not look as pretty, orignal...

Yankee candle mandarin and cranberry tealights...scrummy

Advantages: lasting smell, clear holders, lots of different ones to try out
Disadvantages: no

...Now I have found that many candles that smell nice when you buy then dont have the strong smell when you light them but Yankee candles certainly do!! Quite pricey for a candle but you can tell they use good ingrediants to make them due to the smell. I use mine during dark winter months to give the room a warm cosy feel. I light one of the Yankee candles along with a few none smelly tealights as I found if you light to many Yankee ones the smell gets too strong. I was disappointed with one packet I brought as the wicks were far too short and only stayed alight for a few minutes. The candles are set in a clear holder rather than the usual metal finish casing so they look nice even if you done have a posh holder to place them in. The tea lights come in a nice dinky box with clear plastic lid with a small hole so you can smell...
