Every Christmas, we trawl for hours around the Leicester or Northampton store, in an attempt to find everything in one go. Birthday party invitations mean yet another trip, and our own children?s birthdays mean that yet more time is spent there. Made me ill! Don't work at Toys r Us

Advantages: get to work with toys
Disadvantages: treated badly by some managers

...I worked for toys r us for a couple of months as a shop floor assistant. I do not recommend working for them at all. I will start at the beginning. After applying I was invited for a group interview. I was absolutely petrified as I am quite a shy person but I went along anyway. Luckily for me lots of people didn?t turn up, so instead of having a group interview with about 12 people, there were only five of us. Basically we all had to introduce someone and give some details about them and then we had to fill in a numeracy test. After that we had a group discussion and then had to ?sell? a toy to the group which the interviewer had randomly chosen for us. It was all quite fun to be honest and I was very pleased when they asked me some questions on my own afterwards and they then offered me the job there and then. I was excited...

Excellent deal at toys r us (nintendo dsi with 3 games)

Advantages: offer alternatives, and solutions to instore problems
Disadvantages: not in the city centre

...The nintendo dsi is £149 at toys r us, with 3 games included. the games are my sims kingdom, sim animals, and Zubo. Unlike other retailers (Tesco for example) when they haven't got the game in are not allowed to do the deal, toys r us give u an I owe you of the game thye haven't got in stock and take your phone number and ring you as soon as its in. They let you take your dsi away. I wanted it in black, and the tickets displayed looked as though black had sold out. They just hadn't put the ticket out, but the cashier asked if blue was the colour I wanted. Told her I'd prefer black and they had a look in the back and found a black one. all in all a good result and compared to the problems in tesco the day before I wish to give toys r us 5 star for service and effort. ...As a mother of 3 children, all under the age of 11, a visit to Toys r Us with them is an absolute nightmare (for the parents, that is!). As soon as you enter the store in Liverpool city centre, the first thing that catches the eye of our kids is the vast array of sweets! Not just packets of sweets, but enormous bags that could feed half my street! Once we have managed to navigate our way past them, you enter every child's fantasy world - a store filled from floor to ceiling with every possible toy you could imagine. I would say that 70% of the toys are overpriced, but, if you are shopping for Christmas, you have the convenience of it all being under one roof, albeit costly. ...I agree. Two of our girls recieved the same Barbie Laptop at Christmas. Both had the same type of new batteries. Sophies laptop was delivered with broken packaging and would not switch on/off correctly. Also we had a double present to our youngest child, we wanted to return one of those so left it unopened. On Christmas day after playing the laptop for a while it was freezing up and having problems starting up and shutting down so we decided to take it off her and return it to the shop. My wife called Toys r us and was told to come into the store where it would be replaced, we would also recieve a return on the other item. She was concerned as she had lost the pin number for her credit card used for the purchase and was told it would be ok as they could credit it to another card. Toys R Us or not Santa's little helpers

Advantages: Cannot think of a single one.
Disadvantages: Unhelpful store staff, not contact numbers, emails unanswered.

...Christmas no sign of goods. Send Email to Toys R Us, reply that ALL orders would be delivered blah blah. Executive from Toys R Us appears on TV to say the ALL orders blah blah. 3 days before Christams receive phone call to say that some items not available!! Ok dont panic can go out to buy them - strangely enough from Toys R Us. Saturday before Christmas I have only a couple of present for 7 children. Try to ring the company - no-one to talk to, go to store, they don't know anything, but say that they believe that deliveries are up to 6'oclock that night. 6.30 comes and goes and I am not fit to speak to, pack Husband 7 children into car and head off to you know where. Buy everything that should be delivered from the store. Take tired/over excited children to well know burger place. Up till 2 am wraping the presents. Toys R Us...

This is usually when I make my annual trip to Toys R Us and this year is no exception. With mum-in-law accompanying me and £200 restlessly trying to burst out of my purse, we set off for the whole shopping experience. Toys R Us is usually ideal for us, as the kids are aged 5, 8, 9 and 11, so it is handy to be able to buy everything in one place. ...Who would have know toy's r us is not just the best and biggest toy shop around but its brilliant for babies. It has everything in 1 place, when i was pregnant with my son {he's now 14 months} my partner and i ventured in to toys r us basically just to look at toys our son might use in the future but wow what a surprise it was to me yes it had every single toy any child could ever dream of but also had everything to fill my needs for my unborn child. It has everything cots,prams,car seats,safety gates,rockerchairs and if that wasn't enough its sells all the esencials such as baby wipes, nappies,bottles ,sterilising tablets and so the list goes on. So if i cant find what i need elsewhere i know i can depend on toys r us...

Toys'R'us pool...................

Advantages: A good pool for summertime.................
Disadvantages: none..................

...I got this pool from a friend, and it is a good thing to have in the summer time.It is a good way to keep your child cool on a hot summers day. They can just sit down in the water and splash around. You can many different sizes and shapes, ranging from a little two ring blow up one, which is ok for one little child, up to a big one for more kids. The one i have is a white and blue one with fishes on it. It comes from a toy store costs about £12.00. It is quite a big one so takes time to fill up, that is the only drawback. I just pull it into shape, no blowing it up thank god. Toys'R'us made this pool....
