...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around? Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the DS is certainly not short on features, 16 playable characters have all been included, each of which are split into four categories such speed, skill, power and the all rounder's, therefore you can choose which characters you would prefer to use for each event based on their ability. ...During the 1990s, if you had a games console you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything. ...Having seen the advert for this game i was desperate to buy it as i have not had my wii for that long and i do not have many games. I eventually bought this game and i am so glad that i did as it is great fun. Players This game can be played as a one player or multiplayer as long as you have a wii remote for each player. Also you will need a nunchuck for each player although some of the games you can play with just the remote. Characters In this game you can play as characters from either sonic or mario such as sonic, tails, mario, princess daisy and yoshi. In the arcade mode, you choose the courses and the ca freely, and do one off races. And in simulation, you see a "world map" of sorts, and you must buy cars, earn money, upgrade cars, sell cars and earn trophies in order to proceed in the game and unlock all of the extra features! Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games (Wii) is an 'ok' game.

Advantages: Lots of sports, can play with balance board, ability to play with a mii, dream events are fun.
Disadvantages: No real story, Balance Board controls poorly on most mini-games, might get boring quickly.

...'d expect them to be. As an example, when skiing you'll tip the Nunchuk and Wii-Mote left or right to steer, press the (A) button to boost, and flick the remotes upwards to jump. The only real exception to having standard controls is the speed skating games, wherein you must quickly waggle the remote at the start to get up your speed, then swing your arms left and right in time with the on-screen character to maintain it. There aren't really button presses in the games (aside from in one or two), except for in the dream events. Dream events usually consist of things like doing a ski jump through space, or skiing around the Sonic universe, or racing bobsleighs down hills in the Mario universe. Advantages: It is original, CHEAP TO PURCHASE, and it lasts forever

...Viper Racing is a game only discovered about 2 months ago, although it came out like years ago! This game, is like AMAZING. Yes, as you would have guessed the game is about driving Dodge Vipers around a series of circuits, but there are some pros here. As you race, and do well in races, depending on HOW well you do in these races, you get a certain amount of money. This money then goes towards upgrading components on your car. The list of upgrades is MASSIVE, and they are all very detailed and COOL upgrades which make the car go faster and handle better to get YOU faster lap times, and therefore more money. You can also design the paintjob on your car, with a massive variety or different textures and designs, with some funny/cool/trendy logos to stick on the bonnet, or number plate for instance.
