...Last Christmas our daughter was only 3 months old and so we struggled finding toys that were actually suitable for her age and then we came across this one which is aimed at children from 3 months to 2 years. The toy is available in two different colour options, pink and primary colours and costs around £10 from many places such as Argos or Tesco. The toy as you would expect is made to look like a radio with a carry handle, the surround of the toy are covered in soft material with A B C and different shapes printed upon it, there is also a pretend aerial made of soft fabric and stuffed with some sort of foam. The on and off swtch is on the top of the radio underneath the handle which we found our daughter struggles to turn on even though she can easily turn on other toys and we believe this is due to the location of the button...

Radio gaga

Advantages: Small and nicely designed, gets my girl dancing!
Disadvantages: Doesn't stand up and doesn't keep MissD occupied for very long

...Versatile Vtech I have reviewed a few Vtech products, and I generally think they are good value for money and quite versatile. This review is for the Vtech Soft Singing Radio, which I bought in Argos for £9.99 (although Argos currently has an offer of two toys for £15, which includes this one I believe). The radio is quite small, measuring about 16cm across and 13cm high (including the handle). It's very light and easy for children to carry around. The version I have is exactly the same as that pictured above except for the colours - our one is in different shades of pink. The main colour is light pink and it has slightly padded, rounded edges with a squishy blue aerial. Great Little Rubber Radio

Advantages: Novelty, great design, good sound

...My other half used to own a great little radio (Lexon Tykho Radio) but it got nicked out of our back garden when she left it there with the gate wide open ? invitation to all burglars out there. The reason it was so great was due to the fact that it was bright green (you can actually get these radios is a vast range of bright retro colours) and the casing was made of rubber silicone. It was a great looking funky radio and it really used to love the look and design of it. This radio had al the normal functions, i.e. FM/AM channels and it came with its own batteries too (a novelty nowadays) ? (4 x AA size). The radio itself was quite small at around 3cm x 8cm x 13.5cm (approximately) and the volume control was excellent and allowed for small changes in volume with just the slightest touch. Live the Indonesian radio experience!

Advantages: A nice insight into Javanese radio
Disadvantages: No particularly impressive tracks on there - Indonesia is capable of better!

...I'm working my way through the discography and DVD's on offer by Seattle based world music record label Sublime Frequencies, so far I've been unimpressed with the offerings. Whilst there's plenty of rarities on offer, it's not been of a particularly high standard so far. Perhaps that's what you get from Burmese music, so I was quite excited to be moving onto something different. I'm aware that there has been and still is quite a lot of decent music to come out of Indonesia, such a highly populated country was always going to bring quite a lot of different music. With 3 out of 4 Indonesians living on densely populated Java - the album Radio Java seemed as good a place as any to start. Digital radio for the car.

Advantages: Cheap upgrade.
Disadvantages: A bit fiddly to install.

...Great product but fitting it took a bit of figuring out. Managed it in the end though. I recommend it as it allows you to keep your existing in car stereo and add the additional functions of digital radio. It is well worth upgrding to as the FM radios are going to be phased out shortly. To buy one search on either ebay or amazon, they vary in price form around the £40 mark up to around £200. If you arent competent to fit it yourself it can cost about £50 fitting charge. It is a silver grey colour and should fit in with the interiors of most cars. I recommend you buy the pouch to store the head unit to prevent it scratching when you leave the vehicle. Thoroughly recommended and cheaper than buying a complete new digital stereo....

Paladone Duck Radio..........

Advantages: Good radio reception, looks cute, quite cheap if you shop around
Disadvantages: The mood lights dont really do anything for me, thats when they do work!

...will alternate between but as I always light candles when I have a bath I did not see the point in having the lights on the duck as well. I also found that you cannot have the two on together which seemed a little bit silly and I am not sure if it was just mine but the switch seemed a little temperamental. I have been really impressed with the radio section of the duck though; in fact it seems to pick up a better reception than when in the car! There is a switch on the side of the duck that allows you to tune the radio in and to active the radio you need to twist the ducks head! Sounds cruel but this will get your sounds! The radio struggles with the odd couple of stations but as a fan of Radio one or our local radio station I have never had a problem listening to this. It has got all you need to know about the weeks TV and a big section on the soaps and another plus point the price. It isn?t the cheapest but by far not the most expensive.
