BLAST THEM BUGS.
Review of Johnson Wax - Raid Fly and Wasp Killer by sillygilly

Advantages: very effective
Disadvantages: none

...There's one thing I can't stand and that's BUGS. I hate wasps, flies, ants and anything that crawls. I especially hate flies buzzing round the kitchen when I'm cooking. There are dirty things, that spread disease, and that's a proven fact. I used to use a cheap multi purpose spray to blast the pests, however, a found it didn't do the job so well, when I sprayed it it took ages for them to die. That's why I decided to buy Raid, I saw a fly in the kitchen, so I squirted it with the Raid, and it dropped dead in a couple of seconds. The great thing about Raid is that it provided a lasting barrior against bugs, if you spray it around the room, any bug that comes into contact with it dies. I have noticed that I hardly have any bugs in my house now, even thought I live in the country. Also Raid has a leaves a pleasant smell, unlike... Read review

Cheap RAID card is perfect! (but slow)
Review of Intel RAID Controller SRCS14L by waga

Advantages: online capacity expansion, deals with hard disc problems better
Disadvantages: slow compared to software RAID

...Dead cheap raid 5 card compared to similar others (£50 cheaper). It also allows online capacity upgrades, which basically means you can expand the size of the RAID without destroying the data on the RAID. handy! The main reason for me getting a RAID 5 hardware solution rather than a software solution again, is the fact that even if one of the hard discs on a software RAID5 becomes slightly iffy, it drops it, and you have to rebuild!!! With hardware RAID5, it'll automatically recover, and will rebuild in the background. This fits into my PCI-33 slot, but can alos connect to a PCI64. mmmm tasty... It has LEDs on the card for RAID access, CRC, and Drive access (4 LEDS) and it has all the necessary connectors for external LEDS too! I nearly creamed myself with the thought of 6 blue LEDS connected externally to the RAID card. I would... Read review

Terrible Product
Review of Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 150d/1TB by ed207

Advantages: Excellent Features
Disadvantages: Fatally Flawed Software

...This unit is incredibly enticing. Most units, although 1TB, only allow 0,1 RAID. This means that in RAID 1 (mirror mode) you can only get 500 Gigs. This Iomega unit allows you get 750 Gigs in RAID 5 since it has 4 drives. More cost effective storage space! It also features: * Linux based OS * Flexible user and group based security, * Above average performance with respect to RAID, responsiveness, and transfer speeds. * Gigabit ethernet as well as 802.11G wireless * 2 USB ports to attach additional storage * 4 drive bays to upgrade and replace drives * RAID 5 !. This is a prominent feature that sets it in a unique category among entry level NAS. * A very well built enclosure. All metal, fairly thick at that, as well as very sturdy enclosure for the HD's that uses screws. Nothing plastic of flimsy here. All very very good features... Read review

617 Squadron
Review of The Dambusters by Bigbaz

Advantages: Excellent Boys own tale
Disadvantages: Poor effects in places

...This must be the finest British war film to have been made in recent years. Staring Richard Todd as the late Guy Gibson (Who received the Victoria Cross for his part in thi raid) this film tells the story of the raid by the RAF on the great water storage dams located in the Ruhr valley on the night of May16/17 1943. When the decision to make the film was taken in 1953 flying Lancaster bombers were in short supply and so four of these aircraft were taken out of storage and specially modified to resemble the actual variants used for the raid. The mine now called the bouncing bomb designed by the late Barns Wallis was still on the Official secrets list and as such the actual design was guessed at and the film makers copy bore little resemblance to the original. The film follows the idea bred in the fertile mind of Barnes Wallis through... Read review

UPC3 Kettle Calling Kettle Fast
Review of ABIT - Hotrod 100 pro by yhwman

Advantages: Can either provide extra speed, reliability or both
Disadvantages: Needs more than one hard drive to do that

...« RAID « Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks, that’s what RAID stands for. RAID is a technology that adds flexibility and power to the humble hard disk. It’s been around for years in big powerful server computers in the form of rather expensive SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface) setups. However, over the last year RAID has been gaining popularity in desktop (Or in my case, deskunder) computers using the cheaper and more common EIDE (Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics) drives. They first cropped up on add in cards like the Abit HotRod 100 but now can commonly be found on motherboards. So what can RAID actually do? Well, there are many flavours of RAID but the three most common (Well two most common to be honest) options are RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 10 (0+1, 1+0). I shall now endeavour to explain how they all work, using kettles... Read review

WHO WOUL D WANT A BUG'S LIFE
Review of Johnson Wax - Raid Fly and Wasp Killer by happygoluckygirl

Advantages: Kills wasps and other insects
Disadvantages: Strong Smell

...Ok I have to tell you I am afraid of bees, wasps and all other creepy crawleys, a wasp only needs to fly past me and I'm off on one, I can scream for Great Britain when there is a wasp nearby. So can you imagine what I go through during the summer months. People tell me to give them a good whack with a rolled up newspaper or something but I cant go that close to them as the minute the fly off it petrifies me. So when I was left in the house on my own one day and a wasp came in that was the last straw I needed to do something, so along to the corner shop I went and practically screamed HELP at the shop keeper, he pointed me in the direction of Raid. It cost me £1.90 a can but remember that was from a corner shop, it can be purchased far much cheaper from the likes of Tesco etc. Raid is another product from the Johnson's Family Company... A BUG'S LIFE NO MORE
Review of Johnson Wax - Raid Fly and Wasp Killer by wardenblw431

Advantages: QUICK, EFFECTIVE, LONG-LASTING
Disadvantages: STRONG SMELL,

...With this years heat wave well and truly in full flow, it’s time to get those doors and windows open to allow the fresh breeze to waft throughout the rooms. However, don’t know about you, but our local pests flies, bees and wasps, included see this as in invitation to pop in for a bite to eat, a spot of exercise round the light shades or along the curtain poles and a sip of juice spilt by the kids. Flies have to be the most annoying of all insects, not only are they noisy, difficult to swat they are well known for spreading germs. I have used countless ‘cheap’ fly killers, but find they took an age to solve the problem. I was about to give up hope until a friend of mine said she used Raid Fly and Wasp killer and it was very effective. I decided that I would have to invest in a can so during my next visit to Tesco I plonked one in my... Read review

Network Attached Storage for the masses
Review of Thecus Technology N5200 RousSor by sjhill

Advantages: Good price, excellent expandability
Disadvantages: Some HDD compatability issues to watch out for

...I purchased a 5200 RouStor from Scan in September 2007, to fulfil the need for a RAID capable network storage device for my home network. I chose this product over others due to the feature set you get for the price. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking for a device to hold data for their small office, or home - particularly home entertainment systems. You can fit a lot of music and videos on to one of these devices, and share data easily round your other Ethernet attached devices. The unit takes 5 SATA hard drives (they just screw into the caddies, which slot in the front - as per the picture). There is varying support of hard drive models, so for the unwary, you need to check the thecus.com website for compatibility. I chose 500GB Seagate Barracuda disks, to give me a raw storage total of 2.5TB. The unit is smaller than... Read review

Not always worth the paper its printed on.
Review of Microsoft MCSE by adampedder

Advantages: Get paid lots of money
Disadvantages: Never ending Microsoft Gravy boat

...Paper MCSEs are not worthless - unfortunately. You can still get a well paid job with minimal experience and a paper qualification. Why? Because the current MCSE exams are easy, and not based enough in the real world. Stating the obvious, but Microsoft exams are only about Microsoft products. For example, the server exams only deal with RAID 0, 1 and 5, as they are the only RAID systems supported in software by NT server. You could spend time learning about the others, but as exam revision it is a waste of time. A real world 'experienced' MCSE must know when to cross the line and use third part products. The next scourge is the Boot Camp. Get you MCSE in 2 weeks/1 week/3 days/5 minutes whatever. Any qualification that can be condensed that much cannot be worth that much, or rather the people who do it that way cannot. It must... Read review

Pegasus Brisge
Review of Pegasus Bridge: D-Day - the Daring British Airborne Raid - Stephen Ambrose by Tomholdsworth

Advantages: Literally brilliant
Disadvantages: no noticeable faults

...Well written account of stupendous achivevemnts by the Ox and Bucks regiment under the command of John Howard far surpasses any achievement of american counterparts on D-Day(call me biased) adavantage of this book are that in previous books written by stephen E ambrose thay have always been written with an american perspective and emphasise and little focus on British achievements during world war 2. this book is completly focused on the cut throat raid at caen in normandy france in which john howards glider regiment had to secure a heavily guraded bridge crucial to the allied effort in moving inland on D-day to alleviate casualtys on the beaches and cover more ground. An extremley engrossing read, I couldn't put it down and I would rate it as on par if not better than Stephen E Ambroses Band of brothers. The book is clearly presented...
