Somewhere Over The Rainbow....
Review of Rainbow Islands by
scuzz
Advantages: good platform game
Disadvantages: colours are a bit bright
...=Before Rainbow Islands=
Before Bubby and Bobby returned to being human, they were dinosaurs and had to defeat the game Bubble Bobble also on the Amiga.
=What Sort Of Game Is It?=
This is a simple platform game that is for one or two players. There's not really much thinking involved, so just sit back and enjoy.
=The Aim=
Each level is divided into three sections. You must get to the top of the screen before the water starts to rise. On the way you must kill baddies to obtain coloured crystals.
=The Islands=
As there are seven colours of the rainbow, it makes sence that the game has seven islands. Each island has a different theme. For instance Insect Island has insect baddies (and crows!!!?) and Robot Island has robotic baddies.
Each island has four levels to complete and at the end...

Rainbow? What rainbow?
Review of Lush Rainbow Warrier Bath Ballistic by
MissTopaz
Advantages: Smells heavenly and really is calming.
Disadvantages: Naff all rainbow!!
...Hi ciao!!
Ok, I'm going to review a product that I'm sure is close to many a member on this site-Lush bath bombs! Now I absolutely love Lush, they have a policy of not testing on animals (yay!) and everything they make is so original and it's just lovely!! Sorry, going slightly girly there but I'm sure there are loads out there who will agree with me that you have to love Lush-just for what it is!
Now I popped into a Lush shop the other week and headed straight for the bath bomb trays, where there I stayed for a while…when I did walk out with my purchases, one of the little balls in my bag was the Rainbow Warrier Bath Ballistic. (Not sure about the 'warrier' bit, might be something to do with worrying? Getting rid of your worry? Ah well, might get explained as I go on!)
Now the bath bomb/ballistic (they both mean the same thing...

Rainbow
Review of Rainbow by
atmity
Advantages: The whole program - it's a real classic
Disadvantages: You never see anything off it anymore, and Rainbow Days... what a waste of time.
...Rainbow was first aired in 1974, and made by the lovely people at Thames Television, makers of such other classic programs as Sooty to name a few. Sadly however, you never see much of Rainbow anymore, it has been forgotten in archives, only to be watched by a few select people like myself on Thames home video collections. A petition was created however, planning to put this amazing program back on TV on Channel 5, which in my opinion would make it the best thing on the channel.
If you've never seen Rainbow then you truely haven't lived, it was loved by children in the 70's and early 80's and rightly so. The main characters are:
Zippy: One of the two puppets, so called because he has a zip for a mouth. He is an orangy colour, with only one hand. He is by far the best character because he is so naughty, and always makes snide...

Somewhere over the Rainbow
Review of Rainbow by
Writing321
Advantages: Stunning, mountainous scenery
Disadvantages: None
...The Rainbow Rage is not the way I went over the Rainbow.
But for thousands of bikers it is an annual 100km race from St Arnaud, on the Nelson side of the Rainbow Valley, through this most fantastic part of the South Island of New Zealand to Hanmer, and a waiting hot pool plunge.
For me, I went over from the Hanmer end, after doing the Molesworth High Country Station trip in the comfort of our 4X4. We saw several mountain bikers along the way and I know which way I prefer to take in this pristine sub alpine beauty.
The trip has some high saddle passes where you can see high country farming, lakeside wonder, huge, craggy mountains and a gate or two to open along the way.
Site seeing and photography come together and I used up so much film. This is beech clad forest and huge, gravel scree shots we are talking.
I haven...

Rainbow Brite
Review of Rainbow - Mariah Carey by
Honey_Bee
Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: see op
...“Dreamlover” where Mariah is rolling around in a cornfield in jean shorts, (which she seems to do a lot) Tons of hits followed, the classic cover of “without you” and her own smash “Hero” After the success of the album she began to get annoyed, as she had no control of what she did professionally. After the release of “Daydream” the third album she took control. She spread her wings and became a “Butterfly” Instantly her image changed, there was no more Mariah in jean shorts or with curly wurly hair, just slick, sexy and seductive. I have to say at this point I think her music did go downhill, but then came Rainbow……. (Finally she’s got to it your thinking!) After the success of Rainbow, things went downhill, the sixth album was a flop and so was the film she...

A rainbow over Sin City.
Review of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (Xbox 360) by
manimal
Advantages: Great plot, location and graphics. Simple gameplay, point and shoot.
Disadvantages: None.
...I couldn't wait for Rainbow six Vegas 2 to arrive when it was released on the 21st March. I had pre-ordered the limited edition steel book version from play.com at the price of £39.99.
The steel book case is very well presented and worth the price, most games are £39.99 anyway so I was on to a winner getting the limited edition version. After taking off the wrapper, the case had a cardboard sleeve around it, after slipping it off revealing the metal case I was really pleased with how good the steel case looked. On opening the case I was surprised again, what I didn't know was that the limited edition game came with a bonus DVD.
I'm not one for spending time reading instructions before I start playing games, the good thing about games like Rainbow six is that they are not complicated in anyway.
The plot of the game follows...

Rainbow rules
Review of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (Xbox 360) by
dan89
Advantages: Graphically Stunning, very deep gameplay, rewarding
Disadvantages: Can get hard with the good A.I
...Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth chronological game in the Rainbow Six series of computer games. It was released for the Xbox 360 on November 21, 2006 and Windows on December 12, 2006. The PSP version was released on June 12, 2007 for North America and Europe, while the PlayStation 3 version was released on June 26, 2007. The game's storyline follows a new Rainbow team that is dispatched to Las Vegas, Nevada to defeat Irena Morales' (internationally wanted terrorist) massive army of mercenaries that is repeatedly attacking key locations in the city.
Rainbow Six Vegas is a first person shooter developed and published by Ubisoft. You take on the role of newly appointed Rainbow Lead Logan Keller, with two squadmates, Gabriel Nowak and Kan Akahashi. The plot begins (don't worry i won't be going into detail as all my reviews...

Paint The Whole World With A RAINBOW
Review of Rainbow by
zippy003
Advantages: Fantastic Show, Everything about it was Brilliant. Better than all modern day Childrens programmes
Disadvantages: NONE
...RAINBOW is by far the BEST puppet series Ever made. It stars mainly- Zippy, George and Bungle (the 3 puppets of the show), and then the Geoffrey Hayes who looks after them. It also stars Rod, Jane and Freddy who sing on the show some classic songs like "make a monster".
Geoffrey, Zippy, George and Bungle all live in the Rainbow house which looks great. Zippy and George are always behind a table because they have no legs and only 1 hand each (yet once they had 2!)
Zippy is well nobody ever knew what he was but he was very cheeky and was always getting into trouble. George was a pink hippo who was mainly sensible but funny but once got very angry. Bungle who is a bear (zippy calls him Bungle Bonce) was always very sensible and was always at the butt of Zippy's Jokes.
Rainbow was shown on ITV from 1972 until 1992, and was shown to...

Rainbow Brite
Review of Rainbow Brite DVD by
chugglebunny
Advantages: Cute and good moral teachings for youngsters
Disadvantages: Won't appeal as widly to boys
...As a now 21 year old Rainbow Brite brings back lovely memories of my youth.
The story of a young girl who finds a rainbow belt, and with it can bring colour to the world.
Characters include starlight, the white horse companion of rainbow, who using the rainbiow belt can ride on rainbows helping get from A to B a lot quicker! He is both charming and brave as a character, and even now I find myself wishing I owned him!
Bad guys with names to suit such as lurky and Murky. Who bring a bit of extra humour to the show.
All the adventures are easy to follow with a good moral message behind all, good always prevails and friendship and kindness are dipicted with the rainbow as its symbol. These short heartwarming stories apear timeless as many small children in my family still watch them thanks to it being released on DVD.
I would...

In Rainbows; an optimistic record from Radiohead?!
Review of In Rainbows - Radiohead by
tehfincheh
Advantages: Immediately accessible, beautifully crafted songs, pay what you want
Disadvantages: Not a landmark album by the band's standards
...Radiohead were not the first band to release their music digitally or free of charge. But to put it simply, they were the first band of international significance. Such was the reaction on the 1st October when a short blog post from guitarist, Jonny Greenwood, signalled the bands intentions for new download-only release, In Rainbows.
"Hello everyone.
Well, the new album is finished, and it's coming out in 10 days;
We've called it In Rainbows. Love from us all."
If the shock announcement of an imminent album wasn't enough, it was the pricing and distribution structure that would raise the coyest eyebrows. And so it did. There is no label and it has no price.
You, the music fan, decide how much you want to pay for the record. It could be a penny, or ten, or £99.99. With the dawn of a new era, Radiohead laid down the gauntlet...
