...Top Gear Rally 2 is the sequel of Top Gear Rally, a racing game that left a lot to the imagination. Unfortuantely, this sequel is not a lot better. Featuring a strictly limited number of cars and tracks, the worst soundtrack I've ever heard and completely predictable AI, this game does not come in at the top of racing games. GRAPHICS: Even for an N64 game without the expansion pack, this game is graphically terrible. The picture is terribly grainy and looks ridiculous on a widescreen. There are virtually no curves; the polygon count for this game must be in the region of 4. SOUND: As I mentioned previously, the sound is awful. Don't try it through a surround sound system, you will just get 5.1 channels of terrible tracks of terrible quality. REPLAY VALUE: Zero. Do not play this game, let alone twice. Although there is...

...V-Rally 2 Expert Edition lets you choose from 17 accurately designed rally cars. You can choose from over 12 countries to race through. In the game you have 4 modes. 1) Time Trial is where you must try and achieve the best time possible. 2) Arcade consists of 3 stages where you must win in order to unlock the next stage. 3) V- Rally Trophy also consist of 3 stages each with is unique special stages. 4) Last of all Rally Championship where you race through stages and get change to repair your car. Daihatsu Sirion Rally2

Advantages: Fast, fun, economical, gets the looks
Disadvantages: People think it is less of a car than it is

...I purchased my Rally2 last June, and before that i had a sirion SL , the Rally2 is an astounding car by any means! It has a 0-60 of 7.8seconds 115bhp, and if driven economically will do 45mpg Saying that i do not drive econmically and still return 40ish mpg. Stlying: Alot of people have very different views on this but all agree it is different to anythingelse on the road, the colour choice also makes a vast difference, mine has been mistaken for a new mini on several occasions, and even from the back a toyota yaris. Unfortunatley the paintwork is not the hardest and even though mine is metallic it does chip. Comfort: The ride is not soft, the sports suspension means one can feel the road, and the seats although relatively soft do grip your body. A/c is a must and is great for a car this size. Daihatsu Sirion Rally 2

Advantages: Fabulous car - what more can I say
Disadvantages: Massive insurance costs, shame about the cd player

...I bought a Daihatsu Sirion Rally 2 in January to replace me Fiat (see my review about that if you dare!!) I test drove practically every car for sale between 5 and 10 grand, and only 3 cars impressed me - the Micra, Citroen C3 and the RALLY 2. GOOD POINTS It looks good. It is manufactured in Japan to full UK spec - which means all the benefits of a UK car but with Japanese build quality. Daihatsu does well for reliability and quality - which is exactly what I was after. After that it was the drive that sold me; It drives like a really quite nice normal car, until you decide you are bored and put your foot down - around 4000rpm the engine will sound like you should change gear, until a minute later the speed kicks in. ...Sega Rally 2 This game has the greatest gameplay and graphics that will have you up all night playing and loving it. You won?t stop until you have completed the circuits like me. I really did like this game and it is even better with the steering wheel if you?re lucky enough to have one. It?s an arcade excitement you want Sega Rally 2 will do the job. However long term appeal is unlikely. You want be let down if you play this game. It?s one of the best out yet. Not the Arcade

Advantages: Good graphics, extra tracks, extra cars, extended options.
Disadvantages: Unconsistant framerates, not arcade perfect

...SEGA Rally 2 is in many wasys a good release with almost arcade perfect graphics, handling and gameplay. Also with extra tracks and cars but this is not enought to save the game from the shoody conversion. Screen borders and ever present drop in frame rate as you approach corners mean this game will only be a dissapointment to those who have played the superior arcade version. The saturn version of sega rally was in all fairness closer to its arcade counterpart and on a system that is in a hardware wise fare more removed form the respective arcade board. This game could have achieved so much but hasty conversion in the rush to release it on schedule with the dreamcast has negativly impacted on the games quality....

...t's arcade racing at its finest, only on Dreamcast. But Rally's not for everyone. Although there are a few problems, arcade-style racing fans can't miss Sega Rally 2. All seventeen tracks are full of variety and feature six graphical themes. Starting with 8 name-brand cars, you earn eleven more as you race. You can make modifications to transmission, steering, tire types, and more. Play modes include an arcade mode, a time attack mode, and a unique 10 year championship mode. Rally 2 has a few graphical problems. But overall you'll see a great looking, well-presented game full of cool details. This excellent design is combined with an awesome (albeit repetitive) soundtrack. The only major problem is multiplayer gaming. ...I have purchased Sega Rally 2 for the dreamcast, and I find it much better than the original, as it has more than three levels, and each are very different, aswell as this, the game takes very long to complete, which I see as a plus, the tournament consists of 10 years, each year a different tournament begins, and the second year would be harder to complete than the first year, all that is needed to complete 1 year is to finish the end race within the time limit (position doesn?t matter until the end,) as all dreamcast games, I feel this game costs a little too much, but I?m sure the price will decrease in time....

V-Rally, V-Crappy

Disadvantages: How long have you got? Sound, physics, co driver

...It takes a special kind of game that p**ses me off so much, it makes me want to kill. It has to be flawed, frustrating, disappointing and impossible, with little to no sign of me finishing the b**ch before I've finished all my other quality titles (Daytona USA, Sega GT, MSR etc etc). Yet at the same time it has to be cocky enough for me to say 'I'm going to finish this damn game, no matter what it takes'. That 'special game' has to be either Ridge Racer Revolution on the PSX (I got it clocked, finally, after much swearing and pad smashing) or V-Rally 2 on the Dreamcast. Now, I had VR2 on my PSX. It was meant to be a filler between 'Colin McRae 1' and 'Colin McRae 2', and it (reluctantly) did that. But only just. The only satisfaction I got was when I earned the Renault rally car, and using a cheat to see the final movie. And I hate...
