...Inspiration Having seen this beast of an oven in a local shop I was hooked and had to ahve it for my new kitchen. I was intrigued to find it cheaper than the £1500 for the version I wanted. Getting the Deal A bit of searching on the net and I managed to get the same oven (black with gold trim), with an extractor and five year warranty on both for less than I could have got just the oven in MF*. Paid for by C/C the company phoned back to confirm everything was ok and gave us a cust ref number and tel number for the Rangemaster Company who were going to make the oven for me from scratch (which if you didn't know is part of the Aga group - can't get much better!). RangeMaster 90 - A Master in the kitchen!

Advantages: Looks great, two different ovens, 5 hobs, cleans easily
Disadvantages: Expensive

...When I moved into my new house (a new build on a new development) the kitchen came with the impressive kitchen beast that I like to call the Rangemaster 90 (when I say came free I mean didn't have to pay extra on top of the extortionist price we had to pay for the house). Anyway, I was very impressed by this little fact and that almost sold the house to me then and there, but not quite. If you have to buy them I believe they are in the region of £1,500 but in my opinion well, well worth it if you can afford it. Anyway, I can tell you, I am the envy of all my friends now whenever they come over as after 2 years they still mention the oven as the first thing they do when they walk in the kitchen. The door fell off my Rangemaster!

Advantages: Capacious ovens
Disadvantages: Strange extra shelves and dangerous doors

...- it turned out it was accurate temperature-wise but slower than the oven I had before. The second call out was because the slim oven door fell off its hinges when the oven was on! Deeply concerning. To give them their due, Rangemaster were very apologetic about this and it was fixed promptly, but this is really unacceptable. So yes, a good cooker, but not without issues to my mind!...

Nikon D90 - My Next 'Last' Camera

Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range
Disadvantages: Still quite bulky for casual use. Expensive if that's all you want it for

Going from memory, they?ve included Philips, Casio, Canon, Nikon and errr?..Nikon. Of course the last one, my first DSLR, a Nikon D70 was going to be the last; but then we all say that don?t we, lads? What I really meant was ?the last for quite a while?. LOOKS LIKE THE ?QUITE A WHILE? HAS EXPIRED Then my daughter started making noises about a night-school class in photography, where the minimum kit requirement just so happened to be a DSLR, and I got to thinking about letting her have the D70 for a ?song?, whilst good ol? Dad treats himself to the later and much higher-specified D90. Since I bought the D70 four or five years back, things have moved on apace...

Review of Nikon D90

My experience of the Nikon D90 as an amateur photographer.

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens
Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode

... How I made my choice I recently bought the D90 to upgrade from my Olympus 560UZ bridge camera, so this is my first foray into DSLR photography. Most people starting in DSLR photography will opt for the cheaper D40, or the D60, D70 and D80. I am not particularly rich, and in the end chose the D90 because I didn't want to grow out of the smaller DSLR and have to buy a new body quickly. I have found that the prices of Nikon DSLRs haven't decreased significantly over the last 3 years, so I decided (maybe wrongly) that this option would save me money in the long run. I found that it is very important to go into a shop and hold the camera in your hands before making a choice. All the photography shop assistants said that the Canon series was just as good as the Nikons, but I discounted them because I didn't get on with the feel...

Review of Nikon D90

This is a cook's cooker!

Advantages: Two fan ovens. Reliable and accurate oven temperatures. Looks stunning. Sturdy and easy to keep clean.
Disadvantages: None at all.

...often I use the second oven in preferance to the main one (something which I never did when the second oven was tiny and not fan assisted) This cooker is extremely well made and sturdy and one thing which I particularly like is the fact that the oven door closes are magnetic. (I know you're not supposed to close the oven door with your foot but we all do it!) It comes in a range of colours (much like an AGA) and a choice of chrome or gold trim; there are also various other ranges in the Rangemaster catalogue which offer the same features but different doors/trim etc. I almost forgot to say that it comes with a plate warmer for the tall oven (I hate to call it the second oven as it is just as good as the main one) a griddle, a wok support and a roasting tin which hangs on a rack on the oven door. I have only used the griddle out of all...

Dual fuel Rangemaster cooker - for great cooks

Advantages: Looks good, cooks well economical in gas use
Disadvantages: none that we haqve found

Review of Rangemaster Toledo 110 DF 64510

A curate's egg

Advantages: it works and looks good
Disadvantages: has really bad controls

...I bought the Toledo (90 cms wide) as it was about the only range cooker with both gas hobs and more importantly a gas oven. (The second oven is electric). The range is delivered and installed by Rangemaster who are both very good with their communications for arranging a date and time and very good with delivery. As my building work was incomplete they did not install it but installation is reasonably simple. It is very much a cooker which does what it claims to do. The hob arrangement is slightly counter productive with both the simmer and highest rated rings both at the front. The non stick griddle sits on two gas rings and works well but it would have been more convenient if it were designed to sit on the wok burner. The grill is very efficient and the gas oven works well. The second oven is a strange appendage. It is not really wide...

Really a CLASSIC

Advantages: Twin fan ovens
Disadvantages: None to date

...The Rangemaster Classic 90 in Dual Fuel really is an outstanding cooker. We went for the matt black version with chrome trim and it is a great focal point to our kitchen. It has 5 gas burners - 1 small, 2 medium, and 1 large, plus a double burner which as it name suggests is wonderful when wok cooking. It has 2 electric fan ovens, 1 of which is tall and houses 4 racks plus a plate rack. It also has a large separate grill, with browning elements. The cooker comes complete with a griddle and a Handyrack (with roasting tray) which is fixed (can be removed) to the oven door and makes basting easy. The cooker has a temperature which is useful and a clock, which allows you to programme meals ready for your arrival home. Delivery was just 2 weeks, although the Splash Back took longer for some reason. Check out the location of cupboards...
