...For fans of the "Ratchet and Clank" series on Playstation, eagerly awaiting the release of the next game "A Crack in Time", which is due in late 2009, this short prequel is sure to please.
"Quest for Booty" is available as a download for the £10 mark (occassionally has been offered at less, for example over the Bank Holiday weekend in some canny marketing by Insomniac games,so keep an eye out for offers), and also in hard copy for about £15. I downloaded it which took a few hours with my rather substandard internet connection.
If you haven't played the series before this game does work as a stand alone game, but you should be aware that it only provides about 6-10 hours gameplay for the relatively low price. If you are new to Ratchet and Clank I would probably recommend buying one of the earlier games to get started, although...

The best weapon is a Rocket Launcher that has something like 15 rounds of six rockets that are fired at the same time and home in on the six(Or less) enemies that are closest to you . Some of the levels are extremely easy at the beginning of the game and others are quite hard towards the end . One of the very difficult levels is Blackwater City as their a hoverboard race and a lot of underwater swimming to do.
Characters- Ratchet - A cat- like mechanic with a dream to explore the world(All 19 of them in fact) , almost impossible .... until a spacecraft crashes into his planet .... and the the adventure unfolds.....
Clank-A very small( /occasionally very big) robot , who was made by chairman Drek .
Gadgets : There are very fun to use and also very useful...

...Ratchet and Clank 3 is a game for everyone, you just have to love it. The game is perfection because unlike other games where you just jump and collect the coins it doesn't overcook one part of the game, there is a great variety of things to do and once again I will say there is something for everyone.
Lets meet the players, first up we have Mr. Ratchet a furry hero who loves to kick ass he does this using his armoury and various other gadgets. Clank : The robot kind of backpack thing, he can transform in to a helicopter-esque thing enabling Ratchet with his jumping and swimming. The story is pretty simple, Dr. Nefarious is back, you must destroy him at all costs ( again ).
The game is great featuring many suprises with the game being balanced perfectly, neither to short or to long. There is just so much to do. The basics...
Advantages: Gameplay, controls and humour. Disadvantages: No multiplayer.

However the Spiderbot glove is a controllable spider which you can explode. It changes the gameplay too much for me and doesn't fit into the gameplay. However, I haven't got stuck without it so I am fine.
What is also a good addition is that you can get 5 weapons from Ratchet and Clank 1. They are very weak though so they aren't of much use.
There are many more though including missile launchers and shields which are excellent.
~Lifespan~
Well, you are not going to get bored of the game and decide not to finish it half way through, especially if you are a fan of Ratchet and Clank 1 or a fan of platform-adventure games because this is one of the best.
You will no doubt also want to complete this game twice because of the rare feature that adds to the gameplay when playing the second time round. What...
Advantages: Excellent presentation; longer than your average platformer; NO COLLECTING! Disadvantages: The difficulty is all over the map; no multiplayer.
...your jump (X), Crouch (R1 and R2) and Melee (Circle) buttons, but that's not all. To shoot all you have to do is press the Circle button, which if you hold down will continue to fire. It's actually really easy to select a weapon, a you have to do is press Triangle and then you can select your weapon from there. If you need to rotate the camera all you have to do is move the Right analog stick. If you need to go into First Person view then you can either press the R1 or R2 buttons. The controls are really responsive, and that's really good as this game is a little bit about timing. Overall if you want as game with great controls, then Ratchet and Clank has that.

I know you must be thinking ''another platformer, oh no there's lot's of collecting'', but don't be worried anymore, as this game is much more focused on weapons...
Advantages: Loads to do, great gadgets, kick butt! Disadvantages: None - honestly!
...quite hilarious, such as the Morph-Ray, which turns enemies into chickens! Some of them are downright wicked. My clear favourite is the Glove of Doom, which releases little explosive robots that run ahead of you killing everything in sight, chuckling away to themselves and generally causing mayhem. The appeal of the game is in discovering these weapons and in using them for the first time. The best level comes towards the end, where you have to fight in a truly tactical way against a horde of robots and snipers – brilliant!

Weapons:
Probably the best feature of the game, there are about 50 weapons, which can be upgraded to become more powerful, and hold more ammunition. If you have a save on your memory card for the original weapons of ratchet and clank one, these can be transferred without paying for them. Weapons can be modified to have cetrain effects on monster, using platinum bolts, but this will be explained later on.
Enemies:
There is a great variety of enemies, and its brillant when you're surrounded by a whole bunch, the action gets really frantic theres no slow down.
Collectables:
There are loads of collectables in Ratchet and Clank 2. The main ones are skill points, and platinum bolts, and nanotech boosters. Skill points are earnt by competeing random feats throughout the game. Such as: ride the rails without losing a life, or shoot down 4...

Weapons are upgraded by shooting enemies with it, simple as that. You start off with the bog standard one, then when you?ve used it enough times, it becomes upgraded (no special name). When you replay the game, you get the chance to buy a MEGA upgrade, which if you use enough times will transform into the ULTRA weapon. There are 24 weapons in all, ranging from short range, to long range, and including multiple firing weapons, and 5 weapons from the first game (which you can get for free if you have them on your memory card).
I won?t go through all the weapon names, but here are some of my favourites.

...Ratchet and Clank was, without a doubt, my favourite game of all time. The standard of animation, ease of game play and sheer sense of fun left the competition standing for many gaming months. There are, however, only a certain number of times that you can play even the best of games before they start to wear thin. But Insomniac Games were quick to realise the need to satisfy “Ratchet Thirst” and a sequel was delivered in phenomenally quick time.
Ratchet 2: Locked and Loaded is a worthy successor to the original game. The makers have retained nearly all the appeal of the first game, whilst adding lots of new touches that will ensure a few “oohs” and “aahs” as you start to explore the game’s many levels. ...This is an odd one this one, I must admit im normally into a different type of game but my 5 year old nephew came over the other day and he brought this game hired from Blockbuster.
The game is similar to the other Ratchet games in very few ways this time its a fast moving shoot em up game mixed in with a little puzzle solving rather than a child orientated game that educates.
