Advantages: Great Quality and Sound Disadvantages: A bit expensive
...After starting the clarinet at school i asked for a buffet B12 clarinet for christmas. I kept this clarinet until the last year of my A levels but my clarinet teacher advised me that i needed a new one to progress further. Because of this i then started to try many different clarinets. I tried nearly every model and every make and narrowed it down to a Buffet RC and a Buffet R13. The reason i chose an RC prestige was because of the dark mellow german tone compared to the R13 prestige which gives a brighter french tone.
This clarinet served me well through my degree, i gained a first in major performance with this clarinet and enjoyed every minute of practicing with it. now i am a woodwind teacher i would always tell the pupils to go for Buffet as they make outstanding clarinet. Even the most basic models are well built and sound good...
Advantages: Forget Camera shake, well, almost. Disadvantages: Can be a little fiddly
...If you didn't get one of these with your Canon, and are serious about photography then it really is a must have.
The good thing about this remote is it's dual function, not only will it allow you to perform a shutter release but it will also allow you to take advantage of a 2 second timer function; without having to return to the camera.
Canon have also made the RC5 remote, which, whilst it is slightly bigger and a little more comfortable to use, doesn't give you the option to pick between timer delay, and simple shutter release.
This remote will easily give you a good 5M range, although I tend to use mine standing next to the camera when it's mounted on a tripod, simply to remove as much camera shake as I can. Obviously the windy weather can also contribute to camera shake, but I dont think they have invented a remote...
Advantages: tough, long memory time, good features. Disadvantages: expensive and highly specific function.
...I have been using a boss RC-20XL for about a year now and I must say I have found it a usefull and dynamic little piece of kit, but then when shops are asking around £160 for something it had better be usefull and a whole lot more to boot. I mainly use this when messing around with song ideas at home but I have used it at small university gigs and I can say that I haven't ever had any problems with it in the time that I've had it. Knowing its a Boss pedal is reasuring to me because I've had other old Boss pedals in the past and they have lasted forever. Basically this pedal acts as a Phrase recorder/Loop station allowing you to record a loop and then overdub your previous sound to begin building up layers into what can be an almost orchestral effect live on stage with only one guitar which is a pretty inpressive effect. There is...

Review of Boss RC-20XL
Advantages: Basic in design and foolproof Disadvantages: None that I can envisage
...I Recently purchased 234RC Head, First time use proved to be either too stiff or too slack in operation with a 50-500 zoom. I dismantled the head for a quick look and found a disc of friction material of approximately 25mm outside diameter x 6mm bore. In a similar manner to another review of this item, I fitted P.T.F.E. shims cut out from sheet material and fitted these in place of the original friction disc. When dismantled, friction disc originally fits in a recess. I used 1 off 1mm shim at opposite end to recess to avoid metal to metal contact, and 2 pieces 1mm shim with a 6mm I/D-25mm O/D washer sandwiched between to make a shim-pack to fill recess. While you are at it, replace the 6mm x 65mm bolt with a stainless steel item.
Similarly with Manfrotto 680 or other model monopod where all 5mm mild steel screws and nuts were replaced...
Advantages: bright, lights, and versatile Disadvantages: falls over, its a bag cleaner
...*** Why I Bought a Daewoo RC320FP ***
I've just moved out of halls into a HUGE new house with my friends and feller and realised.. we don't have a cleaner to come and hover our mess?!?!?!?! AHHH!!! "O cripes!" I said, alarmed and afraid, "we'll have to buy a cheapo one, I'm skint!". So off I went on the net in the search for a little cheap hover, and this little beast is what I found.
*** Daewoo History ***
This company first went into home electronics on 1971. The company is actually based in Korea and the names comes from two Korean words; dae, meaning big and woo, meaning universe.
So welcome to the big universe of washing machines, digital TV, the first company to come up with those shiny silver drum things that whiz round in you video recorder and, obviously, vacuum cleaners!

Well most...

Review of Daewoo RC320
Advantages: Looks fantastic. Disadvantages: Costs a fortune.
...a Belgian firm, Punch International NV. They were operating in receivership earlier this year, having problems because of the price of the raw material, aluminium. Let us hope these troubles are behind them.
The RC range being reviewed here, consists of eight "double spokes" if that makes sense (see the pic).and are made for a wheel bolt pattern of 5/100 This configuration makes it easy to clean the wheels, something that is very important where brake dust is involved. Also the wheel does not stick out too far (if it does, you are going to "kerb" them) Any damage can be repaired but at a great cost.
These are available in a great range of colours, all alloys are painted, usually in metallic paint. Here are the colours available: -
Bronze
Black, also Hyper black and Gloss Black
Chrome
Gold
Graphite
Gun metal

Review of BBS RC (8 x 18) 5-stud
Advantages: Looks slick, great new innovations Disadvantages: A little slow, some unneccesary services
...This release candidate of Vista Ultimate is a good indication of what we might expect in the final release.
I have been following the releases of Windows Vista Ultimate since the initial beta offering and have focussed on the 32 bit editions as they are more compatible with current hardware and present less driver installation issues.
With the advent of RC2, apparently the final pre-release before the Release to Manufacturers and then us the public, we are seeing the final culmination of the features that microsoft wants to present in their latest addition to the Windows lineup.
Firstly, the installation of this release was a lot faster than previous editions and went without hitch. As soon as windows was installed the welcome center appeared to guide me through the features, and more importantly windows update kicked in...
Advantages: Unbreakable, small Disadvantages: Too light, hard to control
...I got this one from my girlfriend as a present for something, since I was talking about RC helicopters quite for a while then. I will try to mention pro's & cons as briefly as i can:
PROS: Light, quick charge, small enough for indoor use, sufficient battery life (control), literally unbreakable, easy to modify (great fun!) - just add weights (pins) or sticky tape.
CONS: Too light to be used outdoors (wind), reacts too greatly to its own air waves (lowering to the ground shakes the Picooz), pretty hard to control, flying forward requires skill, noisy vibrations of the gear (appears in the middle of a speed range) impedes flight direction, precision of control changes gradually with battery discharging, no use of a LED light "for night time flight".
However, all in all it is fun toy to have, and if you are bothered by those cons...
Advantages: Bright tone, looks nice, good case Disadvantages: Doesn't come cheap...
...To say I was 'languishing' on my old Buffet E11 would probably be an understatement, and a year or so ago I decided it was time to move up to a professional model clarinet. The choice is overwhelming, and I would always recommend trying out new instruments before you buy them, but here's a hint in the right direction - the Buffet RC Prestige is perhaps the best clarinet in the Buffet range, and Buffet know how to make good clarinets!
In finding the right clarinet I must have tried close on 20 different clarinets, which ranged in price quite considerably. I tried Yamaha, Leblanc, Buffet and many other makes, but time after time found myself returning to the make I know and trust - that indeed being Buffet. This is with good reason too - the sheer quality of all the clarinets that they make is surely unrivalled, and the clarinets sit...
