...Wader tow truck. We have several wader vehicles at my work place. I had not heard / noticed this German manufacturer before. The Wader toy I shall be describing today is the tow truck. I have played with this toy several times alongside my pupils . The recommended age for this toy is 18 months upwards I would say that?s about right. Review of Wader Basics Tow Truck

Here lies the body of a good read, TRUCK Magazine was one of the stalwarts of the mags we all seemed to like, it was published for thirty years. and the last ever copy was printed in September 2004. Ciao have listed this as not having been reviewed, so I feel I must take the opportunity of putting in a word or two. A good old fashioned magazine, made by drivers, for drivers. The layout is pretty much the old tried & tested style, which is what we come to expect. The number of pages did vary, but all the regular articles were there every month. All information seemed to be factual, not hyped up, and was written by people who know what they are on about. All pictures were of good quality, and apart from very old ones, were in full colour. Speaking of old photo's, this mag contained some of the best old motors I have ever seen...

Review of Truck Magazine

What bad luck for the Duck in the truck.

Advantages: Lovely easy reading book with, good size text and great illustrations.
Disadvantages: It's part of a series so expect to be asked to buy the other stories :-)

Buffet RC prestige Clarinet

Advantages: Great Quality and Sound
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

...After starting the clarinet at school i asked for a buffet B12 clarinet for christmas. I kept this clarinet until the last year of my A levels but my clarinet teacher advised me that i needed a new one to progress further. Because of this i then started to try many different clarinets. I tried nearly every model and every make and narrowed it down to a Buffet RC and a Buffet R13. The reason i chose an RC prestige was because of the dark mellow german tone compared to the R13 prestige which gives a brighter french tone. This clarinet served me well through my degree, i gained a first in major performance with this clarinet and enjoyed every minute of practicing with it. now i am a woodwind teacher i would always tell the pupils to go for Buffet as they make outstanding clarinet. Even the most basic models are well built and sound good...

...TheTruck festival has been running for several years in the small village of Steventon, somewhere south of Oxford. It got its name because the first festival was held on an improvised stage made from the deck of two flat-bed trucks! This year's festival was the first Truck Festival I have been to, and it compared favourably with overpriced venues like Glastonbury and Reading; at only £25 for the weekend you can hardly complain. Tickets for this year's festival are now on sale from truck records website. the price has gone up to all of £35. The site says it is because of increased security costs and they didn't put the price up willingly. I still think that this is a complete bargain. Review of Mega Bloks Lil' Cement Truck

Canon RC shutter release

Advantages: Forget Camera shake, well, almost.
Disadvantages: Can be a little fiddly

...If you didn't get one of these with your Canon, and are serious about photography then it really is a must have. The good thing about this remote is it's dual function, not only will it allow you to perform a shutter release but it will also allow you to take advantage of a 2 second timer function; without having to return to the camera. Canon have also made the RC5 remote, which, whilst it is slightly bigger and a little more comfortable to use, doesn't give you the option to pick between timer delay, and simple shutter release. This remote will easily give you a good 5M range, although I tend to use mine standing next to the camera when it's mounted on a tripod, simply to remove as much camera shake as I can. Obviously the windy weather can also contribute to camera shake, but I dont think they have invented a remote...

RC-20XL A Loop That'll Last

Advantages: tough, long memory time, good features.
Disadvantages: expensive and highly specific function.

...I have been using a boss RC-20XL for about a year now and I must say I have found it a usefull and dynamic little piece of kit, but then when shops are asking around £160 for something it had better be usefull and a whole lot more to boot. I mainly use this when messing around with song ideas at home but I have used it at small university gigs and I can say that I haven't ever had any problems with it in the time that I've had it. Knowing its a Boss pedal is reasuring to me because I've had other old Boss pedals in the past and they have lasted forever. Basically this pedal acts as a Phrase recorder/Loop station allowing you to record a loop and then overdub your previous sound to begin building up layers into what can be an almost orchestral effect live on stage with only one guitar which is a pretty inpressive effect.
