...Bar Phono is not the most easy club to find. It is well hidden in the Merrion Centre in Leeds, next to the newsagent at the McDonald's end. It is just a small doorway, that leads to the depths of Bar Phono. You may be forgiven if you're a little intimidated by what you first see, I know I usually am... The decorum goes with something of a dark feel. The lights are few and far between, with the majority of those existing being UV. This has great potential as you will later find out... The room itself is like a square, with seating around the edges, a dancefloor in the middle, and a big pole in the middle of the dance floor for some reason. The DJ booth is in the far right corner as you go in, and the bar is in the far left. The toilets are absolutely horrible, with wet floors and stale smells, but they work so it's not all bad...

...Diana Ross' brand new life at RCA Records kicked off to a promising start both personally and professionally. She enjoyed the satisfaction she'd craved for so long in producing and generally being a more creative force with her studio albums. Diana virtually controlled every aspect of this album right down to the revealing cover shot where she is dressed in a startling zebra-skin outfit which she had incidentally designed herself. Aided by six studio technicians, Diana produced all 9 tracks on the Why Do Fools Fall In Love album which was belatedly released in September 1981, six months after its origanal schedule date. For somebody who had never produced an entire album before she certainly did remarkably well. Oddly enough the premier RCA single would be the cover version of Frankie Lymon And The Teenagers classic hit...

...Cost: You can get it for £21.99 from Amazon. It is very expensive for the genuine article since those compatible cables are around £5 - £7 and some even less. Easy of installation??? I have a Sharp HD ready TV and I didn't look carefully at the connection port before I decided to buy one of this to improve the picture quality of my Wii. Hassle! Not every digital TV has the full five female sockets for all the five male RCA plugs of this cable (try not to be too technical here). My TV certainly hasn't got two phono sockets for the audio plugs. It has the YPbPr sockets (Y = turquoise colour socket, Pb = deep sky blue socket, Pr = orange/red socket, in contrast to the usual Red/Green/Blue sockets) for the HD video RCA plugs (strangely enough they are in green, blue and crimson/red colours instead - colour weakness for the Wii...

...on a gig with my band I use a small stereo mini jack to RCA/phono connector ( about £3 from radio shack) plug it into the headphone output on the shuffle and this allows me to play it through the bands PA system, I hit the random play and away we go instant DJ support for my band. The boys in the band could not believe the sound quality coming from some thing so small.Can't be bad. Battery life so far seems to be very good and the 1gb storage is ample for me ( 240 four minute songs) as it is so easy to up and download songs and edit your play list through itunes. I also bought the wall charger for it . This was £19.99 from apple plus shipping although I now notice that it can be found cheaper from the likes of Jigsaw24 online. All in all I consider this to be a great little piece of kit....

However it does come with a handy adapter which takes you RCA audio cables and turns into one 3.5mm phono jack. This plugs into the back of your Bass unit, and then takes the sound to your speakers.
