...I've known for at least thirty years that I have abnormally high cholesterol and have tried (most of the time) to follow a sensible low-fat diet, so was dismayed to find following a recent blood test that my cholesterol level is actually rising as I get older. ...I don't often eat ready meals but when I do they are always from M&S who have a massive range. My favourite though is this one which costs £3-29. Sometimes they have offers such as buy 2 save £1 or similar. At the moment they are on 5 for 4 which isn't much good for someone like me who just has one now and again. Packaging: The product comes in a cardboard sleeve which has a picture of the finished product which really makes you fancy it when you are in the shop and you feel hungry! A great ready meal!

Advantages: Meaty, tasty with great mash
Disadvantages: You could actually buy the mince and just make your own!

...I am not a fan of the ready made cottage pie idea...I like to make my own as I feel that the shop purchased ones skimp on some of the essentials that make a great cottage pie.... like loads of fluffy mash and rich gravy. The quorn cottage pie was therefore a great surprise and in terms of the ready made options available, I think it perhaps one of the best options out there. The product is ok to freeze and can be cooked straight from the freezer without defrosting (although cooking time should be increased to ensure the pie is piping hot). You can cook it in the oven or in the microwave, but the oven is the best option in my opinion as it gives the potato a nice texture. I enjoyed the rich gravy the mince was in and it tasted meaty and warm. There was an acceptable amount of vegetables in the pie too. I am not a huge lover of peas...

...and this pack was to be sufficient for just myself! After a stressful afternoon I got home and cracked open a tinnie and decided it was time to eat. I did the Enchiladas in the oven for what was roughly half an hour on 200 degrees celsius. (Unlike general consensus, you time with your eyes not the clock. When it looks ready and you've checked that it is cooked in the middle, it is time to eat). You get four tortilla wraps for your dosh and that is more than reasonable. They didn't look anything special when they were cooked but how good can something look when it is packaged up to just be bunged in the oven for conveniance! The box is bright red and has a picture of two fajitas stuffed full of chicken and peppers, which look very appetising. To be honest the first time I bought this meal I wasn't expecting a huge amount of filling but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The box contained a tray full of chicken, caramelised onions and red and yellow peppers. There was a packet of four flour tortillas and two good sized tubs containing tomato salsa and sour cream.
