...I had been intending to purchase a battery charger for quite a while. In fact I had even dropped hints to certain family members around Christmas time, but to no avail. I was recently reminded of this missing piece of equipment in my life when I rediscovered the PC lead to my digital camera. Remembering that a pair of standard batteries lasted for only about 30 photos in this camera I decided that it was certainly time to invest in a battery charger and some rechargeable batteries. I purchased an Energizer CHDCW8 ? 4 battery charger from Argos for just £9.99. This decision was based on several factors, the most important of which was the price and what I considered to be the best value for money. Recharge your batteries the compact way.

Advantages: Compact, charges AA and AAA
Disadvantages: No European plug adapter

...not illuminate when plugged in. AA batteries just slot in but a lever has to be flipped down so the smaller AAA batteries fit into the charger. When the batteries are fully charged the green light will go out and the charger will stop charging so it is impossible to over charge and damage the batteries. The charger comes with a 3 pin plug that can be slid off, the 2 prongs underneath can be pulled down and then the charger can be used in America. It would have been nice to have a European adapter to attache on like the 3 pin plug as it is aimed at the traveller. Charging times vary depending on the power of the batteries. AA 2500mAH take 8.5 hours AA 1300mAH take 4.3 hours AAA 850mAH take 8.5 hours ~<*>~Batteries~<*>~ The 4 x 2500mAH rechargeable batteries supplied are definitely the way forward as they can be charged 1000...

...Here it is, the solution to the hassle of constantly swapping out batteries from the xbox 360 controller's battery pack. This product will definitely save you money as you'll be spending much less on AA batteries especially if you play your 360 a lot. This battery pack however is absolutely useless without the recharging chord or recharging dock. The rechargeable battery pack is very convenient but if you're playing with the controller while it's recharging the controller becomes a wired controller for a couple hours which is not necessarily a bad thing. Also I feel the price for this product is a little steep but I guess it does save you money in the long run. The batteries do last for a long time and I rarely recharge my batteries. Disadvantages: Still gets warm. Plastic plug = breakable?

..., and another point it isn't extremely slimline, but as I have to mention not too bulky. ---BUY FROM--- PC world at around £15.00 which isn't too bad considering you aren't going to be forever buying Duracell batteries at £4 a time. The only downside though is people say you shouldn't use these batteries in wireless keyboards or mice, but I never have a problem with them. Or for you online shoppers you can get it at the bargain price of £13.99 including delivery on www.play.com. Which is the cheapest price I've seen it at. When it first came out I paid nearly around £18-20 for my charger. ...The Uniross x-press 300 is a good charger which supports a range of different battery sizes. I bought this charger last year because I bought a wireless mouse and keyboard so made more sense getting rechargeable batteries rather than spending money on normal batteries every few weeks. I went with Uniross as they make decent rechargeable batteries and are well known for it. This x-press 300 charges AAA, AA & 9V size batteries. It lets you charge 2 or 4 AA/AAA and one 9V batteries of the same type at the same time. It's suitable for AA, AAA and 9V (PP3) NiCd and NiH batteries. To use AAA batteries you simply flip down a little holder within the charger and it will hold the AAA batteries to charge. Good battery charger for it's price

Advantages: Charges quickly, easy to use.

...I bought this so that I wouldnt' have to keep paying for batteries all the time for my camera. Most battery chargers cost a lot more than this one did (I bought this one for about £12, from Amazon), so it was good to get a deal on it. The package includes the charger itself, 4 AA batteries and a car adapter, so you can charge your batteries in the car. The batteries are easy to insert, there are two spring-loaded extensions that spring out. These are so you can charge AAA batteries as well, and they fold away when you're charging AA batteries. ...without any loss in performance, cost about the same as NiCads, but are much more effiecient at what they do... ~~~o0o~~~ By way of an example....my Sanyo Digital camera runs off 2 standard AA 1.5 volt Bateries, these work the Flash Gun, Back Screen Monitor, View Finder and Camera Functions, using 2 Duracel Batteries my camera will take about half a dozen high spec pictures using the flash gun and back screen view finder.... Using NiCad rechargeable AA Batteries, on the same high Format pictures, the camera will take about 15 pictures before a fresh set of batteries are called for.. Using MiMH rechargeable Batteries in the same circumstances the camera will take about 60 High Format pictures.... ~~~o0o~~~ So the proof of the pudding is in the eating...these NiMH batteries are excellent, you can buy a special NiMH Battery Charger...

But then they probably realised this would be to dangerous and powerful so they just settled for double "A" batterys. : ) The batterys will last for around 12 - 20 continuous hours depending on the type you use, but changing batterys almost every day gets very annoying, and expensive. If you have rechargable batterys you will save money instead of always throwing batterys way but why wait for batterys to recharge? Microsoft then came up with the idea of the battery pack. On a full charge it will last around 24 hours of gaming and can be on charge while in use! It will add a small amound of extra weight to the controller but not so that you would notice. This is all good! you can now have a charging pack so you no longer need to buy batterys...
