This is literally Crap Paper
Advantages: Might be cheap
Disadvantages: Hurts, hurts...and isn't soft
....
Toilet paper as we all know now a days comes in many forms and formats, from the soft to the quilted, double quilted, scented, cheap to the expensive, the recycled to the erm...reused? (probably, we all know that someone is stupid enough to buy it). We I have here is the Soft Nouvelle Recycled toilet paper, that must have been considerably cheaper than the rest of the options available to my mother as she bought a pack with 12 rolls in. As my mother is quite miserly at times, and with toilet paper just ending up covered in human made chocolate mouse, it may be fair to assume she's bought some crap paper here (excuse the pun).
The first thing we shall look at is the paper as a whole, pre-usage, each sheet is two sheets thick, with no smell, no quilted feeling, just bog standard (yes yes I know, the last one was better) tissue paper. It looks...

Rid of the Rubbish and Recycle the Rest
Advantages: Cleaner environment
Disadvantages: None!
...with my Easter egg cases). Those such as milk bottles (the plastic ones) and fizzy drink bottles belong on the recycling. As do many yoghurt pots and shampoo bottles as long as they carry the label.
Your soup tins, cans of baked beans and spaghetti tin can all be recycled so make sure you do. As can fizzy drink cans, your daily papers, envelopes and magazine supplements are ideal recycling material, though glossy magazines aren?t required in your green bin as the gloss is made up from different substances. (I would always advise you to remove your address from any envelopes you intend to recycle, which the idea of recycling is a good one having a stalker isn?t as appealing.
I am just finishing years of studying and I have a lot of paper which without a recycling bin to put it in would go straight in the general waste bin. Think...

Its only made of paper
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: none
...Gosh these simple cheap paper light shades take me back a few years. The love nest (we shared the attic room) I shared with my boyfriend in a student house in the early seventies had the identical shade to the one in this picture.
The reason why? Yes it was dirt cheap. The modern equivalent is only £2.99 for a 12, a larger 12 inch £3.49inch ball shade the larger 16 inch £3.99 available at http://www.discount-lighting-store.co.uk/subprod/paper-lamp-shades-0001801.aspx...
Similar ones from habitat cost about £4 or £5.
Of course you can buy more elaborate paper shades some different shaped ones Argos has a set of three Sphere, cube and prism shaped. For £4.89.
Paper Disney character shades can be bought for your children?s rooms for about a fiver each.
These light shades are quite good as they are quite neutral will not...

Daphne and her Paper Factory
Advantages: Educational visit
Disadvantages: It's not exactly Disney Land
..."Would you like to see the paper factory?" our guide asked us as we wandered around the tourist attractions of Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city. We'd just left the National Library and he'd clearly realised that all his attempts to explain to us what sort of plants were used to make the paper used in the historic volumes had failed completely.
"It's made from Daphne" he said and we looked at him vaguely, with absolutely no idea what or who Daphne was. He tried and failed to explain and eventually realised that, unlike more horticulturally savvy guests, he'd landed himself a pair of ignorant dodos. We were clueless on plants appropriate for making paper.
And so, heading back to our hotel, the River View, we pulled off the main road and scuttled up a rather rough looking side road and parked up outside a small building with a hand...

Paper Toss Game
Advantages: A quick and simple game for free...
Disadvantages: ...very basic
...So here's a little number for all us iPhone addicts to enjoy...the "Paper Toss" Application to be exact made by Backflip Studios...and what's that?? It's free?! Oh yes!
Ever since I downloaded this game a coupe of months back, it's still ranked as one of, if not the top free download game on the iTunes store - a great pinnacle to hold, especially considering how simple this game is.
Now, remember the iPhone is a touch phone, and that's how you control the game. As the title denotes, you 'toss' the paper into the bin from a set distance regarding the level you pick - Easy, Medium or Hard. But it's not as straight forward as that. It never is!
To make the game somewhat taxing and therefore add the addictiveness to the App, a wind level will change after each throw, meaning the trajectory will need to change. This all means a certain...

Paper Towns
Advantages: Great read, can't put it down
Disadvantages: Not readily available in uk stores
...Paper towns is a novel written by John Green, who has won awards, such as the Michael L Printz award and the Michael L Printz honour book, for his two previous novels, ?Looking for Alaska? and ?An Abundance of Katherines.? The books are primarily for the young adult audience and deal with many themes such as relationships, identity and high school. Yet Green?s books also have something different about them, the writing style is unique and every time the books are re-read they reveal something different which you never picked up on before.
Briefly, the ?Paper Towns? novel revolves around a young man named Quentin who slightly unpopular in school, considered by some a nerd. When he was a child he was friends with a girl named Margo Roth Spiegleman, who is now popular. Having not spoken for years, Margo arrives at Quentin?s house one night...

Books without paper.
Advantages: Small, lightweight, ideal for travel, capacity to store many books
Disadvantages: Availability of reader, availability of books
....
What is it like?~~
The book reader is about eight by six inches and just over half an inch thick. I have not weighed it but it is extremely light and definitely lighter and more compact than your average paperback novel. The screen itself is obviously smaller, that is about six by four inches, with the control buttons around the edges. A leather wallet for protection is provided. The screen uses new technology, so-named "e-ink" which is nothing like the LCD display on your typical PC or laptop. The background is a pale grey colour, there is no glare and the page has a sort of "matt" appearance that really does look like a page in a book. Consequently the prevailing light conditions have no more effect on your ability to read this than they would if it were a paper book. There is no glare or need to craftily angle the reader if...

multipurpose paper
Advantages: less than 0.4p per sheet
Disadvantages: a wee bit thin
...I've been using this paper now for a couple of years. They seem to go back and forth between a paper packet (nice and recyclable) and a film packet (horrible transparent plastic rubbish), but as at yesterday (August 1, 2007) the pack is made of paper. It costs £1.74 at the moment, and it's been about that price since I first bought it. You get 500 sheets in the pack.
The paper itself is good quality for a value item. I'm not saying it's fantastic, it's a tiny bit thinner (75gsm) than I'd like but you can't expect thick, premium quality paper from a supermarket's own cheapest-you-can-buy-in-the-shops-anywhere brand. If you put two printed sheets of this paper together, you can barely make out that something's printed on the back one and that's good enough for me.
I use the paper in a laser printer at the moment and the results are...

SECOND HAND BUM PAPER
Advantages: Saves trees.
Disadvantages: You may be wiping your bum on something not so nice.
...You know when I read the label on recycled toilet paper, it made all kinds of things flash through my mind. Okay, you may be saving thousands of trees, but what are you actually wiping your bum with ? It could be anything. In some ways I found the thought amusing. When paper is recycled, it could be anything from newspapers to check books, from bills to loveletters, and each time you sit down on the toilet with this stuff beside you, you kind of conjure up pictures of what it could be !!!
I was kind of dared to write on this subject, and then went out to the local supermarket to see if I could find it, and low and behold there it was at 2.50 Euros as opposed to the 3.40 Euros for the normal paper. I was amazed that even the French have gotten in on the act but then it is called Nouvelle so what can I say ?
BigBaz will suffer...

A paper trail
Advantages: Top quality print
Disadvantages: quite expensive
...Getting a PC and printer is the start of a great new experience for most enthusiasts. You can print all your own letters and flyers etc. You can make your own Birthday cards and generally have a lot of fun with your new high tech equipment.
It can be hard enough trying to find your way through the techno jumble of a PC without having to bother which paper is best suited to your printer or your needs. There are so many brands of paper with different qualities that it can get to the point where you give up.
Generally speaking a good quality paper with a GSM of about 90 will give satisfactory result for most of your home projects. The GSM value assigned to paper is rated on firstly the grade of paper, then the surface of the paper and finally the weight of the paper. Generally speaking the higher the GSM value the better the paper...
