The Doll's House Restaurant, St Andrews
Advantages: great selection of food, good cheaper options, nice ambience
Disadvantages: feeling rushed, rubbish veg selection
...cost between £4 and £8, and mains cost between £8 and £22. The general cost of a main lies around £14. This menu is quite expensive I feel, but you do have the option of eating earlier for something a bit cheaper.
All the food in this restaurant is served with 'family' style veg and potatoes - a bowl for everyone to share. This is one of the Doll's House's failings. The portion is very small, and never seems to be enough to go round. If you ask for more veg, I felt our waitress was a bit cross with us, and it took ages to come.
At lunch, it's usually boiled potatoes (a bit dull), with two kinds of veg, such as braised red cabbage and carrots. In the evening, you get fancier potatoes - such as dauphinoise, and three kinds of veg. The chefs here cook vegetables as they are meant to be cooked - al dente, but I have to confess, I...

Harvester Restaurants
Advantages: Always one close by, quick turn out, children are welcome and catered for.
Disadvantages: Toilets can be quite disturbing, not all dishes taste as good they are described.
...Harvester Restaurants
Restaurant Reviewed: Stag and Hounds
Winchester Road
Basingstoke
Hampshire
(next to Comet and Home Base)
The Harvester chain of Restaurants have over 2000 outlets across the United Kingdom and owned and operated by Mitchells and Butlers, who claim to be the UK's leading operator of managed pubs, bars and restaurants. Harvester claim to offer healthy eating, drinking and entertainment in one reasonably priced outlet.
**** Parking and Getting a Table *****
As with most of the Harvester's I have visited, there is usually ample free parking at the rear of the establishment. However on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch times these places are heaving with customers, so avoid the crowds, go early and if possible ring and reserve a table. The Stag and Hounds is no exception but fortunately...

Tosa Restaurant
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Read Opp
...Introduction
I was recommended this restaurant by a friend who was really impressed by the quality of the food and service of this restaurant from her visit. I was interested to see this for myself on a wintery evening at the weekend. The restaurant itself is located in West London which is a quite posh and upmarket area. To the left of the restaurant was an office building and to the right was a back store retail outlet. Directly opposite this restaurant was an Allied Irish bank outlet. I was pleased overall as the location made it easily accessible on the public transport network in London. The restaurant is located near Stanford Brook W6 area of London and is just a few minutes away by walking to the restaurant.

Ze Restaurant!
Advantages: Good show, interesting
Disadvantages: Slightly worse than last year`s
....g Nick and Margaret. The assistants are called Sarah Willingham and David Moore. These two are quite good but David is quite strict and harsh most of the time!
The show has lots of dramatic moments and it is really interesting to see how different people handle all the situations and the pressure. It really does make restaurants look a complicated subject as they need the right concept, food, front of house, pricing, servings and staff to pull off a good restaurant. The people who join the show have all sorts of different personalities and it does make interesting viewing. For example one of the front of house contestants said to a couple ?I guess we won`t being seeing you again, then. ? and walked off after someone complaining!
Overall I find this an enjoyable TV show which in my opinion has got worse this year than previous ones...

An expensive Thai-me
Advantages: Good service, nice surroundings
Disadvantages: Far too expensive for the food
...Recently Mr Tart and myself headed to Cardiff to see Michael McIntyre in the International Arena. We had planned to use one of Martin Moneysavingexpert?s to for one deals at a restaurant before the show but due to traffic and parking issues we got there late. Cardiff has changed a lot recently and despite being a former local I couldn?t work out how to get to the restaurants that we wanted as they had planted a massive multi-story where the road used to be. We didn?t have enough time to find another route to it so we headed for the nearest restaurant that could seat us and this happened to be the Thai House.
LOCATION:
The Thai House is located at 3-5 Guildford Crescent in Cardiff city centre. There is a car park opposite the restaurant which you access from Bridge Street. There is some on street parking outside the restaurant...

* The Bunny House *
Advantages: Funny , Plot
Disadvantages: May Send Out Wrong Message To Young Girls!
...Recently I have been swapping DVDs with my friend ; I've been borrowing her 'up-to-date' movies and she's been watching my 'rom-coms'. One of the DVDs which I borrowed from my friend was a film called ' The House Bunny'.
The House Bunny is an American romantic comedy film released in the United Kingdom on 10th October 2008. This film stars Anna Faris , (who's previous films include , Just Friends and My Super Ex Girlfriend). Running time of the movie is ninety seven minutes (seven minutes over one hour and a half).
Shelley (Faris) is a playboy playmate living a luxury life in the playboy mansion. Soon after her twenty seventh birthday , she is told that she is now too old to be a playboy bunny and so it 'thrown out' of the playboy house. Feeling upset and lonely , she tries hard to fit in with other girl groups , although soon...

My favourite Turkish restaurant on Green Lanes
Advantages: Great food, quick, friendly service, inexpensive
Disadvantages: Can be crowded and noisy on weekend nights
... INTRODUCTION
Diyarbakir is a Turkish Restaurant on Green Lanes (A10), in the borough of Haringey, North London, a 7-8 minute walk from Manor House Tube station and practically seconds away from Harringay Green Lanes rail entrance. Undoubtedly, the densest Turkish restaurant population in London, if not, the whole planet, including Istanbul itself. I moved to this area in 2005 and my decision was mainly down to the great value restauration and the Mediterranean (Turkish - Cypriot - Greek - Middles Eastern) groceries having grown up on the stuff.
THE RESTAURANT
You can spot the trays of lovely, colourful daily stews from the street as they are displayed in the window. As you enter, the long chilled counter is on your left with a huge menu board overhead. The decor is simple, now repainted a warm yellow and red. Unlike...

The Seafood Restaurant
Advantages: Great fish, sides
Disadvantages: None
...Rick Stein - The Seafood Restaurant
On a recent trip to Padstow, Cornwall we decided to go to Rick Steins famous fish restaurant, The Seafood Restaurant. Rick Stein is an English chef, restauranter and television presenter. He now specialises in fish cookery. He opened his first restaurant in Padstow in 1974 and now runs quite a few businesses in the town including a cake shop, cookery school and a fish and chip shop.
The Seafood Restaurant is his upper class restaurant in the town and is known for it's fabulous fish. It really is in the best location for fish. Padstow is a historic fishing port and so receives fresh fish every day. The restaurant is right at one end of town by the harbour and so is perfectly place to recieve all the best catches of the day.
It's quite hard to get a reservation in the restaurant. I think I booked...

Dinner at Plantation House
Advantages: Tries to be authentic, local
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Arriving at Plantation House for dinner one evening, I was taken aback at the 1920's colonial building that added some element of authenticity. As the name implies, this was meant to be a dinner held at the house of a plantation owner of colonial days. The restaurant was located in Woodbrook, St. James, which is one of the livelier areas in the city, as its called 'the city that never sleeps'!
The restaurant itself is small but cozy, with a lovely modern interior and small tables spaced far enough to allow your conversation to be held in private. The staff were well versed in the menu and were more than willing to accomodate our specific requests for the preparation of our food.
We started with an appetizer of a home made bread with a local dish called 'baigan choka' (roasted melongene peeled and mashed with onions). Dinner...

Claimed to be the oldest restaurant in Dalyan
Advantages: Gorgeous surroundings, loads of special dishes, the clay pot, waiters look the part
Disadvantages: Expensive wine and water, relatively small portion sizes, loads of manky cats
...Sini and instantly clocked my other half (she has got the best long, curly and fiery auburn hair ever, and it is something that Turkish blokes seem to really like as the male attention she got wherever we went was a bit too much for me (and I seldom become the green eyed monster), although I was offered 3 camels for her) and the banter started. It was time to sample Sini, so we booked a table (which the tout promised would be the best in the house) for eight that evening.
Why is this restaurant called Sini?
According to the tout, and the website;
?In a traditional Turkish family the people eat together on the floor. They sit at a sort of tablecloth and a large round serving tray with about three or four different kinds of dish. In Turkish this tray is called a "Sini". Around the restaurant you will see traditional...
