Advantages: plenty of good songs, good lyrics and music
Disadvantages: the album could lose a couple of tracks to make it better

...After hearing Scar Tissue and Californication when round a mate’s house on MTV, it seemed impossible not to buy this album, especially after hearing that it had gone platinum over forty times world-wide. I did not really know what the ‘Peppers’ were about, what kind of music they played (well, I knew it was rock) or what kind of style they had. I knew their previous album (blood sex and magic or something) had gone down really well, and that this was a brilliant follow-up to it. The first six tracks on this album are basically faultless. Around the World (number one) starts with this magic guitar riff, and expect this from the rest of the album. This is followed by Parallel Universe then Scar Tissue, one of the hits of the album. Basically every line of the verses ends with a ‘…aaaawwww’ sounding...

Review of Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers

A nice soup but the jury is out on Red Peppers in soup.

Advantages: Healthy ingredients.
Disadvantages: Other flavours may please you more.

...This is a decent soup with decent flavour but for my particular palate red pepper is not the best of ingredients to put in a soup. I associate red peppers more with recipes such as ratatouille or in stir fries or cold in a salad so something is telling my tastebuds that red peppers in a soup are not quite right. Anyway, this is still a pleasant soup made with good healthy ingredients which I list below. It is suitable for vegetarians but does contain milk, wheat, gluten and celery. A whole can only contains 162 calories which is impressive. Ingredients and key nutritional information: Water, Carrots, Butternut Squash Puree (8%), Red Peppers (6%), Potatoes, Onions, Apples, Modified Cornflour, Wheatflour, Double Cream, Whey Powder, Celery, Butter, Salt, Stabiliser (Polyphosphates), Sugar, Yeast Extract, Dried Onion, Celery Seed...

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication

Advantages: With four Top 30 singles, it is easy to listen to and could turn anyone into a fan.
Disadvantages: The only disadvantage is even in the sales in the shops, its still £9.99 (or there abouts).

...the tracks that glide through your ears. The obvious one, their first single from the album, is 'Scar Tissue'. Its a cracking little number - their "Under the Bridge" of the new album. You then have 'Road Trippin', 'This Velvet Glove' and the quite different 'Porcelain'. Basically, I could go on for ever talking about every track, but I won't. All in all it is one of their best peices of work to date (It comes close to Blood Sugar... and Mother Milk) and even though they seem to have mellowed since the earlier years, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are still by far one of the most talented and popular bands on the planet. They have produced and amazing, easy to listen to, 5* album. Buy it....

Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Advantages: well thought out and complex
Disadvantages: length means 1 or 2 poor tracks are inevitible

...After just a few months into my new found addiction to rock, I heard the song 'Otherside' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the radio. I was hooked by the moment that song first played out and it was to become one of my all time favorites (and no, I do not think that this is an exaggerated statement). Of course,I knew OF the Chili Peppers by that point, such tracks as 'Under the Bbridge' being unmissable. But no song, even Scar Tissue, made me stand up and take notice as Otherside did. As soon as the first note of that tell-tale baseline came on, i would rush over to the radio and turn it right up. Many a head-banging ensued...... A few weeks later, 'californication'(the single) started playing. That confirmed to me that 'otherside' had not simply been a one off. Without any hesitation, i bought the album and took it on holiday...

Red Blood, Hot Sugar, Chili Sex, Peppers Magik.

Advantages: Everything about it is great.
Disadvantages: Ha!

...You all know who are the Red Hot Chili Peppers are, don't you? No? You should do! They've been around for over 20 years now you know! Get with the times will ya? ;o) For the benefit of those who aren't fortunate to have heard them, the band consists of Anthony Keidis (Vocalist), John Frusciante (Guitarist), Michael 'Flea' Balzary (Bassist) and Chad Smith (Drummer). The band has had many formations of members but this was the one at the recording of this album, and is like that at this present time. This is the 4th Chili Peppers' album, and definitely the best (By The Way is good, but nothing compares to this). I love all the tracks on this album, every single one has something special about it, something different which makes it seperate from all the others. There are 17 tracks in total, but I'm too lazy to review all of them...

Advantages: All the great songs which they did!!!
Disadvantages: Most songs have already been released (obviously) so they'll have been heard.

...The red hot chiili peppers have been around years and have realeased some absolutly great songs. This album brings together most of them. 16 tracks. Over an hour of outstanding music and great lyrics. Taken from By the Way - Californication - One Hot Minute - Blood Sugar Sex Magik 1) Under the Bridge - this song i'd say is the very very best RHCP have done. Originally written when a band member died in 1988 (or so i beleive) this ong has some great gutairing and superb lyrics, if you haven't heard this song then you haven't lived it's absolutly great!! 2) Give it Away - I personally don't like this song, it's not rubbish or anything but it just doesn't hit the right tone for me. 3) Californication- Now this song is absolutly brilliant!! It is taken from their album of the same name and lasts just over 5 minutes, this song...

Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Hyde Park 2004

Advantages: Easy to get to, easy to get out of
Disadvantages: if i went home the same night It may not have been so easy

...Red Hot Chilli peppers, live in Hyde Park 2004. Now it was sometime ago now but I still feel it is very worth writing about. To have a gig in Hyde Park, London, I feel puts a good edge on a concert anyway. To go to a concert in the centre of one of the biggest cities in the world is something that sticks in your mind forever but for that concert to be the Red Hot Chilli Peppers (one of the biggest bands in the world playing in one of the biggest cities) just tops it off. I have been a fan of RHCP for some time so along with the other 84,999 I was there with the lyrics in the forefront of my mind ready to come home with no voice at all and that is exactly what happened. The concert was superb.They played all the favourites (as you should expect from a concert) Under The Bridge, Californication, Blood Sugar Sex Magic...

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Off The Map

Advantages: A chance to see the Peppers perform some of their best songs live on stage.
Disadvantages: Some of the travel scenes can be repetitive and monotonous.

...Being a life long fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers - in all their incarnations - I assumed that this DVD would be just like the band themselves; funny, funky and fabulous. However, while I enjoyed the majority of the DVD, with the live show taking up the bulk of the playing time, I was a little disappointed by the interviews. While they all talk candidly about their experiences of playing live, life, travel and relationships, it would have been nice to see more of the Peppers together as people rather than as a band, and less of Kiedis' girlfriend draping herself all over him. The DVD includes individual interviews with each band member - Flea, Frusciante, Smith and Kiedis an extra long version of 'Sir Pyscho Sexy' and lots of on-stage banter - including Kiedis encouraging the girls to get mohawks after the show! Squash & Peppers to Make Me Feel Better!

Advantages: Gorgeous taste, low fat, low calories, brand I trust

...I haven?t been too well lately and have been moping around the house feeling a bit sorry for myself. Towards the end of last week, I was feeling particularly down in the dumps and couldn?t be bothered to cook myself anything extravagant to eat, but was feeling a little peckish. It was a toss-up between scrambling myself some eggs or opening a can of something ? the eggs lost (as I?d given the last of the milk to the cat) and the can won! I scrounged around amongst the various tins in my cupboard and stumbled across a forgotten tin of Baxter?s Butternut Squash and Red Pepper Soup. I didn?t feel like anything particularly ?heavy? and decided that this was probably a good option ? anyway, the picture on the front looked quite appealing, as it shows a lovely large bowl of creamy soup, topped with red peppers and a sprig of thyme...
