Thomson Celebration Red Sea Magic : Fabulous Cruise

...My first ever cruise experience was the Red Sea Magic itinerary on the Thomson Celebration in November/December 2007. I was travelling with a friend as a reward for completing a very demanding project at work and we picked the Red Sea Magic cruise as we both fancied seeing Egypt and the Pyramids. We booked three weeks before departure and paid £489 each for an outside cabin on deck 1. The price included flights from East Midlands Airport, transfers, cabin and full board which I thought was an excellent deal for such short notice. The flight was due to depart at 10.30am and after some minor traffic issues on the A50 we arrived at the airport just after check-in opened. There was a stand just before the check-in desk marked 'Thomson Cruises' where we were given a luggage tag with our cabin number on it, as well as security stickers...

...reports from peoples experiences of Egypt being spoilt by arrogant Russians. Perhaps we went at a fortunate time but our hotel was full of English people, more than you would probably get in Benidorm at this time of year. An odd Russian couple here and there but none of the arrogant shenanigans reported on tripadvisor,com. Beach Sol Y Mar Sea Star has its own section of the red sea beach, a short 5 minute walk from the hotel where once again the all inclusive payment extends to the bar just down from the hotel. Here you can exchange a free ticket for a beach towel meaning you don't have to lug your own down there and back. Here you can go snorkelling in the reefs fairly close to shore with the fantastic range of coloured fish that live in these waters. SEA SPRAY FOR MERMAID HAIR

Advantages: non sticky, enhances curls, hair stays soft, good hold
Disadvantages: boring packaging, not a very exciting smell

...I treated myself to a garden plant this weekend a sea holly, Eryngium bourgatii. This is a very pretty plant with green leaves divided into spikes in a frost pattern. This mound of dark blue/green leaves have silver veins in them. A stout branched stalk will grow up from the leaves to about 60cm. This stalk will have small dense, blue cone shaped flowers these each have a spiky silver blue rosaceous collar of leaf underneath it. This plant is very attractive. The flowers are really a fantastic Oxford blue colour. Eryngium bourgati is a native of Spain,, the Pyrenees and Med coast . It likes chalky sandy soil well drained soil so I hope it will like my Chiltern chalk. The best position for this plant is full sun. It is a perennial frost hardy needs little water so should be simple to look after. I bought my plant for £5...

Obviously this has all been done for a reason, but I do wish that they had used something that was a little more pleasing on the eye than what can only be described as giant triangular shaped lumps of concrete all the way along the seafront. Of course, in dumping all this concrete on to the beach, the number of beaches available to sun worshippers has decreased dramatically with many beaches only having a few metres of sand now, even at low tide. During the summer, Clacton?s annual fixtures include the Clacton Carnival and the Clacton airshow. Both of these are something that I would say everyone should visit at some point in their lives. ...Just returned from a weekend at the Seattle hotel in Brighton and feel Ishould share my views thoughts and comments on my stay there. Not only have I been I guest there but also attended a function in their function suite, performed there as an artist (at the function) and partaken in a few drinks in their residents bar, called the Black and White Bar. Here are my thoughts on the hotel and its service. Location. Wonderful marina side location with terrific views of the boats in the harbour. It is easily accessible by car and has an adjacent car park where you can park for free if a resident (use level 6 if a hotel resident).
