It's RED it's WHITE it tastes like...

Advantages: Widely available, refreshing
Disadvantages: It's nothing special

...Dinner tonight: We're going German. Potato salad and bratwurst, crusty bread and a big dollop of mustard. That's the food sorted, now for the beer. Now what would compliment this dish. Some weiss beer? A bock? Perhaps a dunkel. Let's see what's in the fridge. RED STRIPE! Oh well, I suppose it resembles a pils - and it is cold - and it's all I've got - so, that'll do nicely. Red Stripe was first brewed in 1934, by Desnoes and Geddes in Kingston, Jamaica. The company remained under the control of the same families until 1993 when it was acquired by Guinness Brewing Worldwide. Of course the beer I'm drinking is no more Jamaican than I am, being brewed by Charles Wells Ltd. in a factory in tropical Bedford, but that doesn't make it a bad beer. Does it? He lives in a large home in Berlin and is very content. He is an ordinary boy who enjoys spending time with his friends, winding up his sister and playing childhood games. Advantages: A wonderful book, an emotional story about the Holocaust
Disadvantages: classed as being fine for children to read,but im none too sure

The Boy In Striped Pyjamas - A Child's Perspective.

...The Boy In Striped Pyjamas (2008) I first saw a trailer for this film in the cinema and wanted to watch it, but missed it and had to wait until it came out on dvd. I ordered it to rent from Lovefilm, but because of the nature of the film, somehow kept putting off watching it. Anyway, I sat down (prepared to cry) to watch it last night. What's it all about? The film is about the Holocaust and centres around the experience the war through the eyes of a German child, Bruno, living with his family. His father is a German Officer, who is directly involved in running a prison camp for Jews. He also lives with his mother and sister. His mother we discover is oblivious to what really goes on in the camp, that is directly at the back of their house. Bruno is lonely and bored, however he is full of adventurous spirit and sneaks...

...This is one of the best books that I have read in quite a while. I first seen it in Asda but as it was still in hardback and the sleeve didn't give much away I didn't buy it. Then just a few days later it appeared in my mam's copy of The Book People magazine. As it was cheaper than Asda (by a couple of pound) and the magazine hinted slightly towards what the story was about I decided to give it a go and so I bought it. And I'm so glad I did? "The story of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is very difficult to describe. Usually we give some clues about the book on the jacket but in this case we think that would spoil the book. We think it is important that you start to read without knowing what it is about" The cover of the book. Go Faster Stripes

Advantages: Feelgood family fun
Disadvantages: It's very predictable

He is adopted by kindly farmer Nolan Walsh and his daughter Channing and makes his home with the other farmyard animals. But what Stripes really wants is to be racehorse and with the help of his human and animal friends he strives to make his wish come true at the Kentucky Open. Belgian director Frederik Du Chau formerly made his living as an animator for Disney. Obviously their child-friendly ethics have rubbed off on him; choosing to direct this sentimental family film that takes Hans Christian Andersen?s ?Ugly Duckling? as inspiration. He eschews animation in favour of live action shenanigans with humanising voice-overs. Its closest film relatives are the ?Babe? movies, though there is less evidence of animatronics and technical jiggery-pokery here...

...Maoam stripes to be honest I think I have been living under a rock when it comes to this product! I only had one for the first time the other day when someone brought them to work, now I can see why they are Haribo's top selling product ! They are really juicy chewy mini bars that are handy for snacking out and about. There are a few different flavours you can tell what they are by the fruit characters on the front. My particular favourite is the lemon and apple one yum yum! The characters on front are actually really amusing and provided myself and my work colleagues with a few giggles the other day! I think another thing that makes these little bars so popular is that there is not really A competitor out there, no one seems to have made a main stream copy - I am sure one of the supermarkets will eventually though, someone...

...Racing Stripes is a superb family movie, During a horrendous thunderstorm, a travelling circus, have trouble with the rope lashings on some of the trailers, amidst all the commotion a basket containing a young Zebra foul breaks free and is left in the road, The foal is discovered by horse trainer Nolan Walsh (Bruce Greenwood) and is taken back to the stables where Nolan and his young daughter rear the foal, and name him Stripes. From the barn yard, the Zebra foal see's the horses from a racing yard, training for the prestigious Kentucky Open, and dreams of becoming a famous race horse himself, and maybe someday even winning the 'Open' himself.
