Plaza Regency Hotel in Sliema in central position

Advantages: Easy access to public transport and sea front promenade
Disadvantages: cramped and slow lifts

...The Plaza Regency hotel, Sliema is situated at 251 Tower Road, or as the local street signs put it Triq it-Torri. It is seperated from its sister hotel The Plaza, by a road Triq San Frangisk. The two hotel are connected together by a bridge six floors above the street. This sounds weird but works quite well. The two hotels share a dining room which is on the sixth floor of the Plaza, and share a swimming pool which is on the roof (seventh floor) of the Plaza Regency. Both hotels have several steps to climb to get from street level to Reception and in my opinion would be awkward for someone of limited mobility. Once inside, the reception area is spacious and has arm chairs and a TV. The staff here speak good English and are helpful. Both hotels have lifts which are in my opinion both slow and cramped. The Regency Begins

Advantages: Hugh Laurie in a much bigger role
Disadvantages: None at all

Great seafood at the Regency

Advantages: Great grub, good value, good portions
Disadvantages: Location on the land-side of the busy seafront road

...The Regency is well known locally as a good choice for those who like their seafood, and we think it deserves its good reputation. The only down-side is that it's on the wrong side of the busy coast road, so the traffic gets between you and the beach. It's directly opposite the sad rusting pile of metal which used to be the West Pier. It offers something for all fish-fans, from good old cod 'n' chips to oysters etc. We eat there a few times every summer, & we've never been disappointed (except by the size of the ouzo measures, which aren't quite what we get on holiday in Greece!). It's all good value for money, good portions, and there's a friendly buzz about it. ...In mid September 2006, I was offered the chance to live in Regency Halls University Accommodation for my first year of university, I jumped at this chance as I felt it would give me a real experience of student life. Regency Halls University Accommodation was built in September of 2006, they provide accommodation for students attending the University of Gloucestershire. It is situated about 2 minutes from Cheltenham town centre opposite the local blockbuster. These halls are not situated on campus, but they are about 15 minutes walk away from Francis Close Hall campus and Pittville campus. There are 99 rooms at these halls which have en suite bathrooms and a kitchen for each flat which consists of 8 to 9 rooms, there are 3 flats on each floor. Cynical exploitation from a greedy hotel chain

Advantages: Decent room and facilities
Disadvantages: Exploited to the full during a workers strike, no room services

...'t have to confront them most of the time. The times we did go out of the main entrance they briefly looked at us but didn't say anything. I do support their right to strike, but I was finding it a bit taxing on my holiday! Anyway, I will endeavour to report on the hotel irrespective of my bad experience. LOCATION The Hyatt Regency is on Jeanne-Mance. This is a very central location, to the east of downtown, and you are a minute away from the easterly extremes of the main shopping street, Rue St Catherine. There is also a side door from the hotel leading directly to the underground city (see previous review for explanation of this), which would be very handy in the wintertime. This is down as escalator and you are led to a food court. Outside the hotel there are a lot of bars and restaurants, so this area is well served...

Hyatt is not all that!

...As some of you may already know, I have recently returned from a lovely break in Houston, Texas. The main reason for our trip was to go to "Wrestlemania", the WWE's large yearly event. Yes it is slightly sad to travel 5000 miles for wrestling, but you only live once and I am indeed sad! To ensure the expense and hassle would be worth it, we added an additional 7 night's holiday to the trip, making it a 10 night get away. We booked our wrestling part of the trip direct with WWE and thought the packages sounded like the best deal for our money. Included was 3 nights in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Houston as well as a lot of other boring wrestling things I won't bore you with! ;) My initial reaction when we were told and confirmed on the package, of where we would be staying for the last 3 nights of our trip, I was ecstatic...
