Plaza Regency Hotel in Sliema in central position

Advantages: Easy access to public transport and sea front promenade

...The Plaza Regency hotel, Sliema is situated at 251 Tower Road, or as the local street signs put it Triq it-Torri. It is seperated from its sister hotel The Plaza, by a road Triq San Frangisk. The two hotel are connected together by a bridge six floors above the street. This sounds weird but works quite well. The two hotels share a dining room which is on the sixth floor of the Plaza, and share a swimming pool which is on the roof (seventh floor) of the Plaza Regency. Both hotels have several steps to climb to get from street level to Reception and in my opinion would be awkward for someone of limited mobility. Once inside, the reception area is spacious and has arm chairs and a TV. The staff here speak good English and are helpful. Both hotels have lifts which are in my opinion both slow and cramped. ...I was lucky enough recently to get a break off work and my three kids, and enjoyed a short break in dublin. i stayed at the regency airport hotel, and thought i would share my thoughts on it with you. How to get there - this was almost too easy! now, i live in northern ireland anyway, so i was able to take my car down. just 1 hr on the motorway, and i was there. right on the main road into the town, it was very easy to spot, with the name written in large red letters on the front. situated 6km from the airport, and 3km from the city centre, it was ideal for me, as i didn't want to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the centre. Advantages: Lovely big spacious rooms and balconies

...We have stayed recently at this hotel and I found it exremely good! The room we stayed in had this fantastic balcony (room 601). It overlooked the marina where the ferry and the cruise liners came in. The hotel itself is very small, but the rooms are excellant with every thing and more to make the stay pleasant. Thye kitchen was fully equipped which is just as well considering the price of eating out. The price included breakfast which was beautifuly presented and was top quality food with plenty choice but I found that the hot foods were not particularly hot. However the hotel was very enjoyable in itself but we did not really like Madeira as a holiday destination. Overall the hotel was good but Madeira was not as we expected....

Cynical exploitation from a greedy hotel chain

I do support their right to strike, but I was finding it a bit taxing on my holiday! Anyway, I will endeavour to report on the hotel irrespective of my bad experience. LOCATION The Hyatt Regency is on Jeanne-Mance. This is a very central location, to the east of downtown, and you are a minute away from the easterly extremes of the main shopping street, Rue St Catherine. There is also a side door from the hotel leading directly to the underground city (see previous review for explanation of this), which would be very handy in the wintertime. ...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season.
