Remington S9810 Genius Straighteners... not so Genius really!

Advantages: A digital display and the option to change the temperature.
Disadvantages: Poor quality and a horribly expensive price tag.

Remington S9000

Advantages: temperature control, smooth plates
Disadvantages: age quickly, confusing controls

...With wavy hair, I haven't got ringlets to iron out, so the lower temperature settings on the Remington S9000 were perfect for me. To perfect styles, the higher temperatures work alright. The Remington S9000s aren't the best straighteners I have ever owned, after a year of use I can tell the difference between brand new and well used; unlike the GHD's I owned for 2 years! The smooth plates are kind to my hair, but with hairspray can become sticky - like most hair straighteners. The Remington S9000s are also quite difficult to programme to the right temperature, a simple 'hot' or 'cool' setting would have worked perfectly, but its like using a clothes iron on your hair! REMINGTON 2X PROTECTION

Advantages: Heat up very fast.
Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.

I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. Advantages: the way your hair looks after using

...I own remington straighteners and I personally would recommend then. my hair has a natural kink and is very wavey and when i use the straighteners my hair becomes poker straight. They do become very very hot because there is no heat settings which is an advantage really with my type of hair as with other straighteners i have used it takes a while to do my hair, but with remingtons the time spent doing your hair decreases. As they do get very hot a concern to many people is that they will be burn your hair I have never burnt my hair using remingtons. They are very easy to use as all you do is plug them in.
