Remington S9810 Genius Straighteners... not so Genius really!
Advantages: A digital display and the option to change the temperature.
Disadvantages: Poor quality and a horribly expensive price tag.
...I must admit I am a big fan of GHD hair straighteners. Ever since my Mum bought me a pair of them last Christmas I would never go back to any other brand. However I am a member of the Amazon Vine programme and I received a pair of these Remington Genius straighteners for free.
Genius Straighteners?
Remington state that if you want cutting edge technology that?s usually found in hair salons, then these are the straighteners for you. In fact, Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year, Steven Goldsworthy, goes as far as saying these are the Ferrari of all hair straighteners! After reading this I was certainly intrigued, could they really be as good as they sound?
The plates on these straighteners have the most advanced Ceramic coating, vital if you want a smooth finish with your straighteners, rather than a static look. They also...

Remington's Diamond of a Beard Trimmer
Advantages: Great performance and features. Easy to use.
Disadvantages: None to speak of.
...INTRODUCTION
I went through a phase of sporting a goatee, but was finding it increasingly difficult to keep it tidy and well maintained. The problem with normal, bog standard, manual razors is that it?s very easy to accidentally cut into your beard, forcing you to adjust the other side to keep it symmetrical. If you make enough mistakes, your goatee starts shrinking and frankly, looking ridiculous. Much to my wife and daughter?s despair, I decided to make a long term commitment to facial hair by investing in a proper beard trimmer. With Nectar points to burn, Argos was the obvious destination, and I ended up in investing in Remington?s MB 320C ? for no other reason than it sounded fancy and it looked good.
IN THE BOX
The trimmer comes in a zip up travel pouch with plenty of room to store the unit and its various...

Epson Stylus DX4000
Advantages: Great Quality
Disadvantages: No LCD Screen, No Fax
...Epson Stylus DX4000
Well were can I start with this printer. Its an all round great product, it has many different functions and features which will help any user along the way to making you pictures or images better and processing your paperwork quicker. Whilst using this printer I found that it was very easy to use from the very simple buttons that are on the top of the printer towards the left. All of the buttons are very easy to use and you really couldn't go wrong with it.
The Epson DX4000 offers a complete printing and copying solution for all of the family. Its ideal for nearly everything. Its compatible with all applications and can be used for school projects, web designing, right down to photo printing. Puma Ballistic 4000
Advantages: High quality cricket bat
Disadvantages: Little pricey
... Puma Ballistic 4000
The Product
This is a cricket bat, made by the Australian based manufacturer Puma. Puma make all sorts of sports equipment, but have only recently moved into the manufacture of cricket bats. They have, however, exploded onto the scene and are now amongst the most popular manufacturers.
This particular bat is a Puma Ballistic 4000. All the Puma bats come in a series of grades, 5000, 4000 and 3000. Therefore, the 4000 is a middle range bat, but as the quality of all the Puma bats is so high, this is like a high grade bat from any other producer.
The Ballistic is characteristic for its thick edges and enhanced sweet spot, making it a bat for players of power rather than precision. The 4000 model is made from Grade 1 English willow, the highest you can get. The only thing that differs from...

Continental Grand Prix 4000
Advantages: Lightweight and fast, should be hard wearing...
Disadvantages: Expensive, but worth it !
...Just been for my first ride on my new Continental Grand Prix 4000 tyres, and thought I'd let you know about them. I know it's only a first use test, but will update this review when I've had them for a while. Also, I've assumed that if you're reading this, you have some interest and/or knowledge of bicycles. I hope that's OK...
Continental have over 100 years experience in the development and production of road and mountain bike tyres, at the Continental Two-Wheel division's technology and development centre in Korbach in Germany.
The Grand Prix 4000 road/race tyre is the sucessor to the excellent Grand Prix 3000 that I've had on my bike for 2 years or so. It's a "clincher" tyre (as opposed to a tubular tyre), so should fit most road/race wheels/rims. It was a bit of a narrow decision between these and the Continental Attack...

Remington Fuzz-Away.
Advantages: Simple and easy to use and works well .
Disadvantages: None.
...What a great little gadget The Remington Fuzz-Away is,
I remember the first one I got as a pressie about 15 years ago,
I'm now on my third one due to the fact that the first one I owned was stepped on and the second was borrowed and I did'nt get it back!
This little battery operated gadget is used for shaving off those unsightly bobbles that appear on your clothes,
I've used it with very good results on socks, jumpers, tops, trousers and jogging bottoms,
But it can also be used on cushions, curtains and bedding ect and isn't just limited to clothing.
The Fuzz-away is simply a low voltage battery operated fabric shaver which is small and lightweight and fits nicely in the hand.
It has a perforated mesh head which is glided back and forth over the fabric until the bobbles are removed.
The bobbles are removed by...

Remington S9000
Advantages: temperature control, smooth plates
Disadvantages: age quickly, confusing controls
...With wavy hair, I haven't got ringlets to iron out, so the lower temperature settings on the Remington S9000 were perfect for me. To perfect styles, the higher temperatures work alright. The Remington S9000s aren't the best straighteners I have ever owned, after a year of use I can tell the difference between brand new and well used; unlike the GHD's I owned for 2 years! The smooth plates are kind to my hair, but with hairspray can become sticky - like most hair straighteners.
The Remington S9000s are also quite difficult to programme to the right temperature, a simple 'hot' or 'cool' setting would have worked perfectly, but its like using a clothes iron on your hair!
The Remington S9000s are also quite heavy, unlike the GHD's, so even though they straighten out my waves for a good few hours, I wouldn't recommend them to people...

REMINGTON 2X PROTECTION
Advantages: Heat up very fast.
Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.
...The particular model that I am refering to in this review, are the Remington S1002 slim ceramic Teflon coated model. I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. I thought that GHDs were just a craze, I must admit, it is a craze that has lasted, but I feel they have an unjustified high status.
After using these straighteners for the first time, Iknew that I had bought the right ones. Myhair is kind of frizzy, but also quite oily, (that's hairdresser talk for greasy!). I have always bought straighteners that included a steamer, to moisturise my hair, which always just made it more frizzy. I grew really fed up of this, and cut it off, myself, into a short bob. Surprise, surprise, not but one month later...

Forget GHDs Remington's are FAST & Smooth...
Advantages: heat up fast, glides smoothly, ceramic plus Teflon coated, durable, 3 year warranty, safety carry case included and Excellent VALUE for money
Disadvantages: on/off switch can get switched off accidentally when holding
...to find an alternative ceramic hair straightener?
I spent well over a year deciding which hair straightener to go for and it's about a year since Ciao added this Remington product after my request and I'm glad to see there are already 3 User reviews. Now I'm finally able to form my own opinion after a years usage.
Why Remington? And not GHD's?
Due to the reasons mentioned above of high cost of GHD's I had also read worrying reports about GHD's blowing up, yes that's right, people have mentioned they saw flames coming out from the cable, whilst others have reported after a while they stop coming on or heat up much hotter than before. I did consider other straighteners like the Hai stik straightener, which is America's top selling hair straightener retailing at around £85 making it just marginally cheaper than GHD's. The reason I...

remingtons
Advantages: the way your hair looks after using
Disadvantages: the heat of the product
...I own remington straighteners and I personally would recommend then. my hair has a natural kink and is very wavey and when i use the straighteners my hair becomes poker straight.
They do become very very hot because there is no heat settings which is an advantage really with my type of hair as with other straighteners i have used it takes a while to do my hair, but with remingtons the time spent doing your hair decreases. As they do get very hot a concern to many people is that they will be burn your hair I have never burnt my hair using remingtons.
They are very easy to use as all you do is plug them in. I have noticed that your not waiting ages for them to heat up they heat up very quickly which is good for people who are in a rush.
Remingtons are good for styling your hair using the straighteners, i curl my hair using using them...
