Remington 2x Ceramic
Advantages: GHD quality for half the price
Disadvantages: I keep pressing the "OFF" button by mistake!
...So, like every other woman/girl I love GHD's-I used a friend's once and was hooked-hers were a gift, but they cost from £95 from selected hair salons. Kept umming and ahhing whether to fork out for some, in the meantime used other people's!
When I was getting ready to go out one night, a friend had brought Remington 2x ceramic straightners round-I used these and could not tell the difference between GHD'S.
Ok, these cost around £49.99 and you can get them from anywhere-Argos, Index etc. They heat up in around 10 seconds-it's only a few seconds more than GHD's anyway!
They have ceramic plated irons, and are fairly slim, they have an on/off sliding button, and a red light appears when they are switched on-the only downfal about these straighteners is that when you are using them, your thumb may turn them off again, but this...

REMMINGTON POWER CERAMIC HAIR STRAIGHTENER CS1001

REMINGTON 2X PROTECTION
Advantages: Heat up very fast.
Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.
...The particular model that I am refering to in this review, are the Remington S1002 slim ceramic Teflon coated model. I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. I thought that GHDs were just a craze, I must admit, it is a craze that has lasted, but I feel they have an unjustified high status.
After using these straighteners for the first time, Iknew that I had bought the right ones. Myhair is kind of frizzy, but also quite oily, (that's hairdresser talk for greasy!). I have always bought straighteners that included a steamer, to moisturise my hair, which always just made it more frizzy. I grew really fed up of this, and cut it off, myself, into a short bob. Surprise, surprise, not but one month later...

Remington HC365
Advantages: Rechargeable, ease of use, no need of oil for blades
Disadvantages: inability of main clipper to trim, trimmer doesn't do good at trimming
...Since I got this clipper i haven't had cause to go for repair. So for one,
its durable but depending on how careful you are though.
The best attribute would be that I won't need to draw Voltage from my kitchen to my bathroom just to shave-its rechargeble! I am still trying to figure out how many hours it can go before going off.
Its con would be the fact that the trimmer included isn't rechargeable as the main clipper. Hence, trimming is less smooth than it is supposed to be. If only the main clipper could be adjusted to be able to trim bears and sideburns then we wouldn't need the trimmer to be rechargeable. Apart from that, it shaves good. Hope this helps...

Remington = great value!
Advantages: Heat up fast to provide great, straight hair!
Disadvantages: Still takes a while to straighten thick hair.
...I have had these straighteners for a couple of years now and I continue to be impressed by them. The model that I am referring to is the Remington S1002. This is a sleek, grey model with 9x3cm ceramic, Teflon-coated plates. There is a wheel on the side to allow you adjust the heat for different thicknesses of hair, a flip-down stand to allow you to rest the straighteners safely and an on-off switch on the top with an indicator light.
I originally bought these straighteners from Argos a couple of years ago. Before then, I had some Phillips straighteners which were appalling! I have long, thick hair with a natural wave and it took about an hour to get my hair straight. I was looking for a decent, but relatively inexpensive, straightening iron and came across the Remington model. I paid £34.99 for them, which seemed very reasonable...

Clippers for life
Advantages: Ease of use, Ergonomic design, Stylish Case
Disadvantages: Needs brushing inbetween shaves
...Being 21, and finally giving up on trying to save my hair from the curse of the receeding hairline that makes it's way through my family tree I decided to start using some clippers we had lying around in the house to cut my own hair.
Being 22. I wish I had invested in a proper set of clippers like these earlier. They make my pre thursday night five a side hair cut so much more enjoyable. I actually look forward to shaving my head with these. I am looking forward to it right now(being thursday).
This kit is not just for the balding though, it is a totally professional set-up to cover all types of stylings involving clippers. The contents include 1 x clipper, 1 x charger,
8 x comb attachments, 1 x pouch, 1 x scissors, 1 x comb ,1 x brush,1 x cape, 3 x clips. Trimming length is from 3mm to 25mm. It comes with a styling guide booklet...

Advantages: Great Hair Days
Disadvantages: Not held in such high prestige?

remingtons
Advantages: the way your hair looks after using
Disadvantages: the heat of the product
...I own remington straighteners and I personally would recommend then. my hair has a natural kink and is very wavey and when i use the straighteners my hair becomes poker straight.
They do become very very hot because there is no heat settings which is an advantage really with my type of hair as with other straighteners i have used it takes a while to do my hair, but with remingtons the time spent doing your hair decreases. As they do get very hot a concern to many people is that they will be burn your hair I have never burnt my hair using remingtons.
They are very easy to use as all you do is plug them in. I have noticed that your not waiting ages for them to heat up they heat up very quickly which is good for people who are in a rush.
Remingtons are good for styling your hair using the straighteners, i curl my hair using using them...

Remington CS2000 slim ceramic straightener
Advantages: Gets hair straighter
Disadvantages: Doesn't get very hot
...When considering buying my first ceramic straighteners I wasn't sure whether to buy an expensive, more professional pair, or to buy the cheapest I could find, to see if I could get on with them.
I opted for the cheaper and cheerful pair. I found this product in the Avon catalogue for £9.99. The offer at the time was that it also came with free hair products (sleek shine spray and heat protection spray). I thought this was a good deal.
The writing on the packaging claims:
*Ceramic coated plates for even heat and smooth styling results.
*Slim design for all hair lengths - ideal for layered and shorter styles.
*on-off switch and indicator light.
*cool tip to protect fingers.
*Hang up loop.
*1.8m cable.
The leaflet inside states that it is guaranteed for 2 years.
In short, it doesn't have many features; it doesn't have...

Remington Ceramic Straightener
Advantages: An excllent ceramic straightener for the price
Disadvantages: Needs a stand or rest when hot.
...I had been put off buying a straightener due to people telling me the only ones to buy where the very expensive makes (£100+). Then this Remington was given as a present.
Now I have amazingly thick hair that does what it want to do so I wasnt convinced that these would work - how wrong was I!
These are lightweight and easy to use - especially when dealing with long hair. They work well and I now can have 'pop star' straight hair for a lot less than the expensive makes.
The instructions are clear and with plug attached you are ready to go - the secret is to take a little time and divide your hair in to small managable sections - then the results are instant - smooth hair in around 15 minutes.
The only things I can find wrong are;
The cord should be on a swivel
You have to be careful not to knock the on/off switch...
