...Bought these just after Christmas after having perm that didn't work and needed something to create some curls in the mess that was my shoulder length hair. I had never used heated rollers before so was not at all sure how to use them or if they would work. Was very pleasantly surprised at the results. They take 30 mins to heat up and are fairly easy to put in. Your hair really needs to be 5-6" long or they will not stay in as the ends do not have enough purchase to grip the hair, probably because they are fairly heavy. I found keeping them in for the 30 mins or so needed for the curls to take required the use of a shower cap to take the weight off the rollers as they fell out every time I took a step. Another thing to be aware of is that with continued use (3-4 times/week) I found that unless you unbend then VERY carefully...

...I bought these straighteners about 3/4 years ago when they first came out. They were still quite expensive but I did not have the cash for something like GHDs. So this was the next best for me. I had already gone through quite a few pairs of straighters that just could not hack the daily use. But these came up to the job. I was first recommended them by a friend, who has really long thick hair. So I tried hers out on a couple of nights out and really liked them. Best thing I ever bought, do a really good job, really quickly and have lasted me a number of years. They heat up to a top temp of 210c, most of the time I use them on dry hair but have used them when my hair has been wet but it does sound like they are burning your hair and lots of steam everywhere! Remington PG400 Hair Trimmer

Advantages: Well built, value for money
Disadvantages: Lack of battery level indicator

...So far I have had 2 of these beard trimmers, the first one had to be returned within the first week due to a faulty charger connector, however the current one is perfect. The item feels well built and nice to hold, unlike some other similar trimmers I have held that feel cheap and tacky. The battery life is better than I expected although the lack of a battery level indicator means it might die without warning, which isn't ideal if your halfway though a trim and have to put it on charge for another 2 hours before you can finish! It also has other useful features for other body hair removal not just beard trimming, the nose hair trimmer and narrow trimmer are added bonuses as well as the grading plates....

Great for short thin hair

Advantages: Heat very quickly
Disadvantages: Unable to cope with my thick hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....
