REMMINGTON POWER CERAMIC HAIR STRAIGHTENER CS1001
Advantages: Top class performance, excellent results, great value
Disadvantages: Absolutely none - unless you're accident prone!
...and professionally styled. Its condition had in no way been damaged, or dryed. My hair stayed straight and styled for three days until its next wash. A great improvement on the usual daily wash and blast with the hair dryer.
The straighteners used by my hair dresser were called Remmington Power Ceramic Straighteners Model No. CS1001. Being extremely impressed I decided to purchase a set for myself.

Remington 2x Ceramic
Advantages: GHD quality for half the price
Disadvantages: I keep pressing the "OFF" button by mistake!
...So, like every other woman/girl I love GHD's-I used a friend's once and was hooked-hers were a gift, but they cost from £95 from selected hair salons. Kept umming and ahhing whether to fork out for some, in the meantime used other people's!
When I was getting ready to go out one night, a friend had brought Remington 2x ceramic straightners round-I used these and could not tell the difference between GHD'S.
Ok, these cost around £49.99 and you can get them from anywhere-Argos, Index etc. They heat up in around 10 seconds-it's only a few seconds more than GHD's anyway!
They have ceramic plated irons, and are fairly slim, they have an on/off sliding button, and a red light appears when they are switched on-the only downfal about these straighteners is that when you are using them, your thumb may turn them off again, but this...

remingtons
Advantages: the way your hair looks after using
Disadvantages: the heat of the product
...I own remington straighteners and I personally would recommend then. my hair has a natural kink and is very wavey and when i use the straighteners my hair becomes poker straight.
They do become very very hot because there is no heat settings which is an advantage really with my type of hair as with other straighteners i have used it takes a while to do my hair, but with remingtons the time spent doing your hair decreases. As they do get very hot a concern to many people is that they will be burn your hair I have never burnt my hair using remingtons.
They are very easy to use as all you do is plug them in. I have noticed that your not waiting ages for them to heat up they heat up very quickly which is good for people who are in a rush.
Remingtons are good for styling your hair using the straighteners, i curl my hair using using them...

REMINGTON 2X PROTECTION
Advantages: Heat up very fast.
Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.
...The particular model that I am refering to in this review, are the Remington S1002 slim ceramic Teflon coated model. I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. I thought that GHDs were just a craze, I must admit, it is a craze that has lasted, but I feel they have an unjustified high status.
After using these straighteners for the first time, Iknew that I had bought the right ones. Myhair is kind of frizzy, but also quite oily, (that's hairdresser talk for greasy!). I have always bought straighteners that included a steamer, to moisturise my hair, which always just made it more frizzy. I grew really fed up of this, and cut it off, myself, into a short bob. Surprise, surprise, not but one month later...

Snap, Sizzle and Straight!
Advantages: (+) Cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: (-) Safety issue?!
...Well to set the scene? I have very thick dark brown hair which is fairly longish below my shoulders. Naturally it is wavy and often quite frizzy if it is not tamed!
About three Christmas's ago now I received my first pair of straightners; Remington Power Ceramic! Sounds great, but for those of you who don't know much about straightners and the market? basically they are a simple middle/low market price product. They suit my uses fine as I don't have time to straighten my hair every day, as one its too thick and takes forever, and two; 20 minutes longer in bed or straight hair, I chose the first option most of the time! Unless I'm going out somewhere or I have the time.
**********Description**********
They are dark blue with slim yellow ceramic plates.
They have a simple on and off slide switch to heat the plates up...

Bye Bye Bush
Advantages: Gets hot rather quickly and straightens my hair
Disadvantages: No temperature settings
...of the straighteners there is a finger shape oval to hold the straighteners together while you are straightening your hair. It functions via plug and also has insulated wire. This is safely connected to the straighteners by a swivel cord
The Quality of the product?
I am very happy with this product as it has tamed the bush that lives on my head. Although I have only had them four weeks I have used them on several occasions. On each occasion they have pleased me for whole days. I am very happy that I found this deal. With the three other pairs I had just did not work. With these Remington straighteners allow the ceramic plates to glide through my hair.
The price of the product?
The price I paid is unlikely to get any one buying it so these are some places that sell it and their prices.
Remington select- £24.99

Remington S 1002 - X2 Ceramic
Advantages: Great Hair Days
Disadvantages: Not held in such high prestige?

Remington CS2000 slim ceramic straightener
Advantages: Gets hair straighter
Disadvantages: Doesn't get very hot
...power socket. (in the Argos catologue, 3m cables are advertised as 'salon length cables' - 3m is nearly double the length of this products cable.)
The Remington CS2000 sort of does the job, but nothing like a salon-standard product. It comes down to the phrase 'you get what you pay for'. I don't regret buying them - I'd have been more annoyed at paying £50+ for something I couldn't get to grips with using. At least I know now that I will invest in a higher quality product in a year or two.
The remington CS2000 is a reasonable starter product to learn the technique of straightening hair but its very basic and you could outgrow them quick and soon want another pair. I think a lot of people will be disappointed with this products results.
Whilst writing this review, I checked ebay and found the same straighteners for as little as 99p...

Remington = great value!
Advantages: Heat up fast to provide great, straight hair!
Disadvantages: Still takes a while to straighten thick hair.
...I have had these straighteners for a couple of years now and I continue to be impressed by them. The model that I am referring to is the Remington S1002. This is a sleek, grey model with 9x3cm ceramic, Teflon-coated plates. There is a wheel on the side to allow you adjust the heat for different thicknesses of hair, a flip-down stand to allow you to rest the straighteners safely and an on-off switch on the top with an indicator light.
I originally bought these straighteners from Argos a couple of years ago. Before then, I had some Phillips straighteners which were appalling! I have long, thick hair with a natural wave and it took about an hour to get my hair straight. I was looking for a decent, but relatively inexpensive, straightening iron and came across the Remington model. I paid £34.99 for them, which seemed very reasonable...

Who needs GHD's?
Advantages: Heats up in 60 seconds! and works well
Disadvantages: The switch is in an awkward position and can be accidently turned off during use
...stays straight until I next wash it, even in the wind and even in slight rain! its amazing!
Overall:
Appearance: Very stylish, with yellow ceramic plates, I like it!
Heat: Very powerful, 60 minutes to heat up. Recommended not to keep on for more than 30 minutes!
On/off button: Quite annoying, in an awkward position on the handle and can accidently be switched off during use
Does it work? DEFINATELY does! just make sure you take quite small sections and run through no more than 2 times!
Value for money? : very good! you pay less than half the price of other products that do the same job
Recommended? YES!!...
