Remington R320 Titanium - excellent value

Advantages: Close shave, good looks, and cheap
Disadvantages: Takes a while to re-charge

...Having used a 6 year old Phillips equivalent, I was impressed by the smotthness of the shave. The re-charging facility is slow, but that is a minor problem, and alternative speedier models are available. I purchased the product from Amazon, for around £25, which I feel is excellent value for money. I like the look of the product too, and it compares well with far more expensive shavers on the market. I did have to return the product, since the metal prongs, which connect to the charger broke, and this appears to be a known, but rare fault. The product was returned to Remington via Freepost, and I am pleased to say that a replacement, brand new R320 was supplied to me in under a week. I'm pleased to confirm that not only is there a smooth shave, but I have experienced no cuts, and my 5 o'clock shadow now appears closer to about 7...

Remington R5 Diamond.

Advantages: Very easy with many functions.
Disadvantages: None

The cheapest price (£39.99) is very reasonable for what is actually included in the razor, as it glides comfortably across the skin with no irritation, and this is what most men look for in a razor. The product is available quite easily from amazon, but is also sold in other shops like john lewis. There are 7 basic rotart shavers available from remington, from the steel series, to the titanium series, then to the diamond series, the R7 diamond series being the most advanced and therefore expensive, and the R1 steel series being the cheapest but therefore also havin the the least to offer. ...A little while ago my trusty Remington R950 broke after about 5 years of use and abuse. As I was more than please with that I set about looking for a replacement with the main criteria being that 1) it had to be a Remington and 2) it had to be reasobaly priced. After a little a opted for the R330 for £49.99 The R330 is a has triple floating heads under which are titanium blades, having had these on my previous Remington I can testify that they do stay sharp for a long time. The power button is the push button type (rather than a slider) next to which is a power light. At the back there is a beard trimmer which pops out when the firm slider is push upwards. Remington S9000

Advantages: temperature control, smooth plates
Disadvantages: age quickly, confusing controls

...With wavy hair, I haven't got ringlets to iron out, so the lower temperature settings on the Remington S9000 were perfect for me. To perfect styles, the higher temperatures work alright. The Remington S9000s aren't the best straighteners I have ever owned, after a year of use I can tell the difference between brand new and well used; unlike the GHD's I owned for 2 years! The smooth plates are kind to my hair, but with hairspray can become sticky - like most hair straighteners. The Remington S9000s are also quite difficult to programme to the right temperature, a simple 'hot' or 'cool' setting would have worked perfectly, but its like using a clothes iron on your hair! The Remington S9000s are also quite heavy, unlike the GHD's, so even though they straighten out my waves for a good few hours, I wouldn't recommend them to people...

REMINGTON 2X PROTECTION

Advantages: Heat up very fast.
Disadvantages: People assume they're not as good as GHD.

...The particular model that I am refering to in this review, are the Remington S1002 slim ceramic Teflon coated model. I originally bought these because they were only £35, assuming that they would just about do the job, as I really could not justify paying £100 for GHD straighteners. I thought that GHDs were just a craze, I must admit, it is a craze that has lasted, but I feel they have an unjustified high status. After using these straighteners for the first time, Iknew that I had bought the right ones. Myhair is kind of frizzy, but also quite oily, (that's hairdresser talk for greasy!). I have always bought straighteners that included a steamer, to moisturise my hair, which always just made it more frizzy. I grew really fed up of this, and cut it off, myself, into a short bob.
