Remington R320 Titanium - excellent value

Advantages: Close shave, good looks, and cheap
Disadvantages: Takes a while to re-charge

...Having used a 6 year old Phillips equivalent, I was impressed by the smotthness of the shave. The re-charging facility is slow, but that is a minor problem, and alternative speedier models are available. I purchased the product from Amazon, for around £25, which I feel is excellent value for money. I like the look of the product too, and it compares well with far more expensive shavers on the market. I did have to return the product, since the metal prongs, which connect to the charger broke, and this appears to be a known, but rare fault. The product was returned to Remington via Freepost, and I am pleased to say that a replacement, brand new R320 was supplied to me in under a week. I'm pleased to confirm that not only is there a smooth shave, but I have experienced no cuts, and my 5 o'clock shadow now appears closer to about 7...

Remington R5 Diamond.

Advantages: Very easy with many functions.
Disadvantages: None

The cheapest price (£39.99) is very reasonable for what is actually included in the razor, as it glides comfortably across the skin with no irritation, and this is what most men look for in a razor. The product is available quite easily from amazon, but is also sold in other shops like john lewis. There are 7 basic rotart shavers available from remington, from the steel series, to the titanium series, then to the diamond series, the R7 diamond series being the most advanced and therefore expensive, and the R1 steel series being the cheapest but therefore also havin the the least to offer. ...A little while ago my trusty Remington R950 broke after about 5 years of use and abuse. As I was more than please with that I set about looking for a replacement with the main criteria being that 1) it had to be a Remington and 2) it had to be reasobaly priced. After a little a opted for the R330 for £49.99 The R330 is a has triple floating heads under which are titanium blades, having had these on my previous Remington I can testify that they do stay sharp for a long time. The power button is the push button type (rather than a slider) next to which is a power light. At the back there is a beard trimmer which pops out when the firm slider is push upwards. Lens Problems on R series Caplios

...I've just sent my daughters back for repair just 9 months after buying it. The lens has jammed permanently open with the motor making nasty grinding noises & no image. Looking on the web, this seems be a very common problem with R4-R7 cameras with at least 11 others returning units for repair - often just after the waranty with big repair bills - upto 2/3 the value of the camera. Even after repairs, the problem seems to re-occur. Buyers beware! I think Ricoh have pushed the lens/body ratio a bit too far to the point of serously affecting reliability. My daughter was really upset as it failed 1/3 way into her holiday & it was her pride & joy - she really looked after it! Won't buy a Ricoh camera again - when you spend £170 on a camera you expect it to last longer than 9 months!...
