...As mentioned in my review of the Wii Nunchuck I have had my Wii for a few weeks but haven?t had chance to review it so am starting with the peripherals. The Wii uses wireless controllers (it was the first games console to do this) that communicate with the main console via bluetooth. Unfortunately the Wii only comes with a single controller and as the main fun with the Wii comes from playing against friends and family I immediately purchased a second controller for £29.99 (it is hard to find them cheap anywhere on line or the high street). The controller is white plastic (the same as the Wii itself) styled like a small TV remote and is solidly made and feels even more so when the 2 AA batteries are put in. ...I purchased the Nintendo Wii after weeks of searching the internet for a shop that hadnt sold out and once i found one available i bought it immediately. The package came with Wii sports and a remote controller and i have to say that i was quite impressed. The controllers work well with the console and in particular with wii sports. The biggest issue that i have with the remote is the battery issue. Whilst the batteries do last a long time when installed, to keep replacing them costs a fortune. I also have had this problem with my xbox 360 wireless controllers and would recommend anybody who was buying the controllers to also consider a quick charge kit to accompany it. The unit is very responsive and works very well, this depends on where you put the sensor that is supplied with the wii so make sure that you read the manual carefully...

...Wii remotes are wonderful! I find they give a unique console gaming experience that is not available with other console controllers. The great thing about the Wii remote is that it gives you a wireless gaming experience allowing you more freedom to move around whilst playing, and really get in to the movement and action in the game. Advantages: Your remote wont slip out of your hand

...I don't know how many times I have gasped at people on Youtube throwing their Wii remote at the TV while they are playing a game. I would be absolutely gutted if I smashed our beloved flat screen but fortunately I shouldn't have this problem. Nintendo have come up with a solution and if you bought your Wii a while a go then you can go to there website where you can pick yours up for free. The Wii remote jacket is basically a silicone outer that fits snugly over the remote. It gives your hand a much better grip on the remote while you play games and stops the silly accidents that have happened in the past. The REMote Part...

Advantages: It's Idlewild - you're not going to go too far wrong
Disadvantages: It's not quite up to their previous high standards

My own personal favourite ups the ante at track seven - a fantastic melody-driven romp known as Out Of Routine. Four tracks remain, with Century After Century, Tell Me Ten Words, Stay The Same and the quietly pleasant In Remote Part/Scottish Fiction bringing the LP to a close. Now, you will notice that I have failed to mention the most obvious comparison once in this op - that between Idlewild and REM. I can't stand REM you see, and I can't see how the two bands could be similar if I think one are excellent and the other are, well, quite frankly, utter pony. But comparisons will be made, so I will simply say that if you like REM, you must be mad not to like this latest offering from the best band...
