5 Star Luxury starting at £20 a night! - Renaissance Kuala Lumpur

Advantages: Cheapest 5 star property in KL. Excellent western property. Great facilities and staff.
Disadvantages: Not as fresh as other 5* properties but at this price, who cares??!

...When I first moved to Malaysia I didn?t realise how cheap the hotels were out there. It was only once I got talking to the locals did I realise how cheap you could holiday for in Kuala Lumpur. A good 4* hotel room could be as cheap as £15 a night! I soon decided to investigate this further and look at what you could actually get for your £ in this amazing city. When I lived in Malaysia I lived about 1hr from Kuala Lumpur in a small town. On the weekends KL is where it was ?at? so I soon began staying in hotels there for the weekend. Relax at the Renaissance Hamburg Hotel

Advantages: Great location and friendly welcome
Disadvantages: None

RENAISSANCE HOTEL - LOCATION AT ITS BEST

Advantages: Prime location - near malls and within the financial district
Disadvantages: none

Great Renaissance Hotel in Brussels

Advantages: Beautiful hotel and great value
Disadvantages: Not too near the city centre

I stayed at this hotel whilst on holiday in Brussels in August 2003 and found the hotel to be really good value in Summer (as all the business people are on holidays so the best time and cheapest time to visit Brussels is this time of year!) The room: The hotel bedroom that we had was well furnished and came with two Queen size beds, although room are available with one larger King Size bed. The room had a TV with satellite TV and a few okay English channels including BBC World. Advantages: Close to the airport, very grand, good facilities
Disadvantages: Rather bland, very average food, expensive

...I have had a one night stay here recently. I had never been to Istanbul before so was excited about my visit. This hotel is a five star hotel owned by the Marriott group. It's located 11 miles from the centre of Istanbul which is easy to get to by public transport or taxi. The airport is about 3 miles away and the hotel runs a free shuttle bus. Renaissance Penta Vienna Hotel

Advantages: Not too near the city centre
Disadvantages: Great value weekend deals and lovely hotel

...The Renaissance Penta Vienna Hotel in Austria is not located too near the city centre but there is an excellent public transport facility in operation. It is about 18 miles from the airport and it took us about 35 minutes by taxi ad cost about 40 Euros (£30). The hotel itself has recently been refurbished but is charming and welcoming. All the staff speak excellent English and the level of customer care and attention to detail is excellent. Check in is from 2pm and check out by 12 noon although they let us keep the room until 3pm when we were checking out as we had a late flight home. Arriving by coach after a fabulous two days on The Rocky Mountaineer train, we entered the busy Renaissance hotel lobby and spied one of our cases, linked with others and all padlocked together. Stay in the heart of Manchester at the Renaissance

Advantages: Great location and nice rooms
Disadvantages: Little bit expensive, but good value overall

...waiting around. I found the room beautiful and a lot better standard than other renaissance hotels. It was modern and spacious with large lcd television, desk area and table with two comfy chairs. THe bathroom was also modern and well done out with an excellent range of complimentry toiletries. As part of the package we booked under we had access to the club lounge. I would recommend anybody to do this as it is fantastic. The club lounge is a room only open to those with a club lounge keycard and offers a private comfy place to sit away from most of the other guests. Not many guests come here mostly business men so is quiet and extremely quiet in the day. Club lounge benefits offers free soft drinks and coffee all day with continental breakfast and snacks through the day. Between 5.30pm and 9.30pm alcoholic drinks are also free which...

Great 5 star hotel

Advantages: Great service and cheap for a 5 star hotel
Disadvantages: May need to book a room in advance

...There are two sites to the Renaissance Hotel. There is the Renaissance Wing Deluxe and the New World Wing Superior. There is not much difference, Renaissance Wing Deluxe is a little more luxury, which each room will cost more. I stay at the New World Wing Superior. I paid RM 185 (approx £26) excluding service charge and 5% gov tax. Rates will changes depending on the month of the year (See below). The hotel is based close to the city centre, were it is 10 minute walking distance to the Twin Tower and 20 minute walk to the a shopping area. There are taxis and buses if you don't feel like walking. But I recommend using the Monorail, which is close by. The view is great, I was on the 17th floor and I had a brilliant view of the Twin Towers. I would think if you were at the Renaissance Wing Deluxe site, you would get the view of the KL...
