Renault Laguna 1.9 dCi - The User's Review

Advantages: 5* Safety Rating, Good Drive, Cheap
Disadvantages: Broken Sensors, Cheap Interior

...My parents have owned a Renault Laguna since 2004. We decided that since our accident, we would need a car with a very high safety standard. The Laguna ticked all of the boxes with its excellent five-star european safety rating and sufficient boot space. In general, the Laguna is a good drive which is very smooth and durable on lengthy journeys but there are some major problems. The main two problems that we have experienced is that the tyre sensors always break and we have to take it in to our local Renault garage for repair at £75 a time. We have now stopped going to the garage and just put up with the annoying unfixable sensors. The second problem is fixings within the car seem very cheap and can be removed very easily and many of the speaker covers etc. within our car are virtually hanging off. Overall though, I believe that...

RENAULT LAGUNA MK2 1.9DCi

Advantages: 5* Safety rating many extras good mpg
Disadvantages: repair cost noisy plastic trim

...I bought my laguna back in 2007 from a secondhand dealer in Perterborough it came with a years MOT and had 63,000 on the clock and had previously been owned by two former keepers. So i parted with my £4,000 and off we went i noticed over the next few weeks that everytime i drove over a bump i heard a bang from the rear, so off i went to my local garage not Renaults and they said that my bushes on the back axle had gone and needed replacing at a cost of £200 the warranty with the car was for major engine parts so i had to get the wallet out. After 13 months the same thing happened again so i went to another garage and was quoted £188 fitted, apparently this is a common fault with this car and as i do 20-30,000 miles a year it looks like this will be an annual cost. The car goes 18,000 miles between servicing but it's the bit between...

Laguna 1.9dCi Hatchback

Advantages: Safe
Disadvantages: Uncomfortable

...I drive a reasonable number of miles in my work (around 3000/month) and have recently had the opportunity to sample several cars in this class. The Laguna has been my least favourite for a number of reasons. Firstly, I have been driving this particular vehicle for around 5 months. It is a hire car, and I am unsure of the trim level - there are no other markings on the car other than 1.9dCi. It is an up to date model - 05 plate. My main issue is comfort. I am just over 6ft & I find that the door handle is constantly rubbing my knee. This sounds minor, but when you are in a car for a couple of hours it becomes a huge annoyance. I have tried every adjustment but have yet to find a comfortable seating position. Also note that boot space is less than I expected. Another area worth mentioning is the sun visor. When this is down, it...

Renault Laguna a great family estate.

Advantages: A geat family car for those who dont want a people carrier
Disadvantages: Car key is a card pricy to replace

...I brought a Renault Laguna 1.9TD Sport Tourer In April of this year. I paid £2300 for an 03reg. You get a high quality car for a relativly small amount of money. The Sport Tourer comes with part leather interior, three 3 point seatbelts which is a must for anybody with children, a cd player, air con, Abs, 6 speed gears, heated front and rear windscreens and lots more. I have three young children and didn't want to purchase a people carrier instead I opted for this estate and so far have been extremely pleased with my purchase. It has a fantastically large boot which fits my double buggy in with ease and still has enough room for shopping. As far as safety ratings go this is by far one of the best it has several airbags and you are able to turn the passenger airbag off at a switch if you need to place a rear facing child seat in...

The Renault Laguna Estate, sorry, Sports Tourer

Advantages: Stylish, well equipped, technology laden car
Disadvantages: Not the most practical of estates and the engine is a little fussy

..., Renault's BMW 5-Series challenger will hit the streets and heads will turn so far, there will be a lot of strained muscles around Britain. It's futuristic looks have divided opinion, but either way, the Vel Satis saloon is definately an interesting alternative to it's German rivals. A wacky new Megane, Scenic and Espace is set to be on sale next year and a Clio isn't far off. They are also returning to F1 next year and big things are expected. Renaults future has never been better. THE OPINION THE CAR:RENAULT LAGUNA SPORTS TOURER 1.9dCI PRIVILEGE LAUNCH:2000 RIVALS: FORD MONDEO VW PASSAT NEW NISSAN PRIMERA NEW VAUXHALL VECTRA EXTERIOR STYLING Before the launch of the new Laguna, the Renault range was in need of a boost. Still happy with Renault Scenic 1.9 Dci

Advantages: Smooth, comfortable drive.
Disadvantages: Hubby complains it is not a turbo diesel!

...This time last year we purchased a 1 year old, ex demonstration Renault Scenic 1.9 Dci, luxury version with leather seats etc. (Monaco model) Let me warn you in advance: Once you have a scenic, there is no way back! It has changed the way in which we look at cars as any other regular car suddenly seems cramped and uncomfortable. It is somewhat Tardis like - appearing compact from the outside but is roomy inside. The Scenic has a typical French ride - very smooth and comfortable. The seating position is upright with a good view over other (or should I say, inferior?) cars. The front seats are fully adjustable for height and distance from front. In addition, the drivers seat also has an adjustable lumbar support. The steering wheel is also adjustable, making the chance that you find a good position very high! In the rear...

Renault Clio dCi Dynamique!!

Advantages: Very Economical and stylish
Disadvantages: None

...Wow!! What a excellent little car !? I have just passed my driving test, so after many months? if not years of scrimping and scraping so that I could save up for a car I went out and bought the first car that I like the look of. And I choose this beauty! (I know that was foolish as I should have done my research but that gut instinct was correct and I'm pleased with my choice.) The car I choose was a Renault Clio Dynamique (100) 1.5 dCi Its features: Standard Renault alloy wheels Remote central locking Powered steering Air bags ABS brakes Along with the standard spec of a Renault Clio but ? what sets the Dynamique version apart from others is its sports styling; It has 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, front foglamps and sports seats. Automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers as standard...

Review of Renault Clio 1.5 dCi

Have you ever tried an Initiale?

Advantages: The spec, the price, economical and practical
Disadvantages: Boot a little limited, lack of feel, nondescript looks

...checked, and this is briefly shown on the display. The engine is not as quiet as you might expect, and is certainly noisier than I expected, though at speed it is not excessive. The 1.9 and 2.2 DCI cars are Turbo Diesel and suffer quite badly with Turbo Lag. This is especially noticeable in 2nd and 3rd, when it takes around two seconds before you get the acceleration you wanted - two seconds ago!. This means a little more care is needed for some driving such as busy islands, motorway driving etc. The suspension is very soft, indeed it feels like I am driving my sofa it is so soft. Great for long distances but it means you have practically no 'feel' for the car on the road. This I feel it perhaps the biggest weakness in the car, and does mar the driving experience to some extent. However, I am a major fan of motor racing, and take the car...

The New Renault Laguna

Advantages: See opinion
Disadvantages: See opinion

...;fastback”, and which Renault state will give as much carrying capacity as a large estate car. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS AND DRIVABILITY The model I drove was the 1.9 turbo diesel version. It is also available in a 1.6 and 1.8 petrol and a 3.0 litre V6 version. Renault has now switched no less than 50% of their production capacity into producing diesel cars. They obviously believe that this is the way of the future, and if this car is anything to judge by, it would be hard to argue with that notion. For an “oil-burner” this was a real mover. It has a 0 to 60mph time of only 10.7 seconds, which is nearly a second faster than the 1.6 petrol, and will zip you up to a top speed of 125mph. (where, you may well ask) It’s nice to know it’s there when you need it though. Maximum torque kicks in at only 2000rpm...

Review of Renault Laguna 1.9 dTi Rt

Love it!.........Hate It!!

Advantages: Comfortble, good performance good economy
Disadvantages: Poor reliability

...I've had my Laguna 1.9 dci dynamique 51 plate, for about a month now. Now il Start With The good bits, i do really like this car. i have been a car salesman and as one i have driven almost every car on general sale today. There are better cars but it is very good. In my Dynamique it has very nice part leather sports seats, with good side support. Plenty of adjustment for the Seat And steering wheel im 6'5 and im supremely comfortable. it, despite 17" alloys and low profile tyres it rides well. still handles ok too. My Car Came with Sat Nav which although handy is far too fiddly to use and you can only have a boring mans voice for direction :( (the French woman speaks.... french though) It has good torque 200ft/lbs which give good accleration even up to around 110mph its still strong(on autobahns) And the 6-speed box...
