...OK this is a review on a light bulb! "How do you write more than a sentence"? I hear you ask, "Not a clue" says I. Although there are some things you probably don''t know about them. Firstly, the bulbs are more properly called lamps, bulbs are the things that grow in the garden. Secondly, the lamps that are used here are designed to be used in a harsh environment than usual, they are made to stand a lot of abuse, vibration, shocks, and extremes of temperature. They cost a little more, but are designed not to fail as easy as ordinary lamps. These lamps are always "Pearl" ones, not clear that could dazzle. They are made of slightly thicker glass than household ones, and the filaments are able to withstand a little more abuse. They are actually called "Rough service lamps". Hip Replacement.

Advantages: Increased mobility and relief from long term pain.
Disadvantages: The implants only last 10 years.

...Sorry folks but this is another medical review, I don't want to become too well known for these but on the other hand there was no category for this and hence no advice for me to look up before I went into hospital recently for this operation, so first of all thanks to the Ciao Proposal Team for getting this sorted out so quickly for me, roughly 24 hours is good going considering your so busy. The only problem was I had not got it all onto my wordpad yet but I got there. I have tried to keep this review as clear and free from too many technical terms because half of them are only understood by members of the medical profession and that is not what this is for, this is intended to help people who are going to be having a Hip Replacement. Kill Or Be Replaced

...Remember those brainless yet enjoyable eighties action fests that involved pointing and firing guns that never ran out of ammo and cars that ramdomly exploded when they got shot up or crashed? Yes? No? Approaching toward the ninties we still had dumb action flicks but we also had more sophisticated films out there to view and enjoy. Slowly but surely, the action flick where one seemingly bulletproof hero up against hundreds of trained evil badmen dried up and were replaced with action films with a little more substance in the storyline. In a sea of current slasher films and melodramas screaming for oscar recognition, it's a relief to see the more action driven cliched ventures again. Some of course are complete tosh, but "The Replacement Killers" is certainly above average. The seemingly bulletproof hero in this case is kung fu...

Knee Replacement Surgery.

Advantages: Gives you a new lease of life free from chronic pain.
Disadvantages: The implants may need replacing meaning more surgery.

...First of all I am surprised this category has not been filled and as I have actually had Knee Replacement surgery more or less a year ago now, they took it back when I had my leg amputated but I did have it done. Me being me of course I thought what the heck I am resting in hospital after my Hip Replacement so what better time and place is there for me to write some help and advice for anyone else facing this kind of surgery. I have already written about my knee in a previous review but this one is very different I assure you. They say that time makes you think of things differently and I have to agree, I also wanted to have this advice in this category so that it is easy to find for anyone who needs it. One other thing I have to mention is that my operation was done by the N.H.S and I had a 2 year wait. I do not agree...

And there was Light !

Advantages: Light on tap.
Disadvantages: Nothing major.

...a great step forward. We are still running on the first four batteries but I am sure that it costs less than a couple of pounds to replace four AA's anyway. The whole idea is a good one and it works well for us, the sticky backed pad that was supposed to hold the back panel in place needs further thought or maybe it would be better to state that the panel needs to be screwed into place. We have always had problems with sticky anything, we have stuck up countless hand towel hooks only to watch them flop onto the floor after a few days. The JML Stick up light bulb could come in handy in many places and we have said that we are going to get another for the attic, that will save us getting the lead lamp out all of the time. JML, this is a gadget that is very useful....

Light in the Darkest Places

...Until last Christmas when I received the Fresh Air Globe as a present, I had never really been a great fan of JML nor, in fact, was I aware of just how many items they make. The StickUp Bulb is one such item, and I believe one of their newest as I first received information via their website newsletter. Since then however, it has been advertised to some extent on television. At first I will admit that I didn't consider the item as I had seen this type of thing previously - that is, until I found a use for it, then suddenly it seemed to be exactly what I had been looking for. Throwing a Little Light on The Subject

...identical lamps, one of which I fitted with the Sainsbury bulb, the other with an Osram. The remaining Sainsbury bulb was placed in the other lamp. This feat was accomplished on 2nd September. My lounge is quite dark and as I work from home and rarely go to bed before 2am, I calculate all the lamps were in use for 8-10 hours per day and I made sure the lamps were switched on and off at the same time each day .Three and a half weeks later, on the 26th September, the Sainsbury bulb in the twin lamp expired. The other Sainsbury bulb lasted a week longer until fizzling out on 4th October. The original Osram bulb finally gave up the ghost on 5th November and the two I used to replace the defunct Sainsbury bulbs are still going strong some eight weeks later. Of course this was not a scientific test under laboratory conditions but it does suggest...
