...Remember those brainless yet enjoyable eighties action fests that involved pointing and firing guns that never ran out of ammo and cars that ramdomly exploded when they got shot up or crashed? Yes? No? Approaching toward the ninties we still had dumb action flicks but we also had more sophisticated films out there to view and enjoy. Slowly but surely, the action flick where one seemingly bulletproof hero up against hundreds of trained evil badmen dried up and were replaced with action films with a little more substance in the storyline. In a sea of current slasher films and melodramas screaming for oscar recognition, it's a relief to see the more action driven cliched ventures again. Some of course are complete tosh, but "The Replacement Killers" is certainly above average. The seemingly bulletproof hero in this case is kung fu...

Disadvantages: The implants only last 10 years.

Knee Replacement Surgery.

Advantages: Gives you a new lease of life free from chronic pain.
Disadvantages: The implants may need replacing meaning more surgery.

Medically we have come a long way though and a patient with damage to the knee now has options to choose from, if only one part of the knee joint is worn badly then only that can be replaced this is Uni-Compartmental or Patello Femoral replacement and is a much simpler operation than having a full replacement. Advantages: Well written fiction, with an historically accurate background.
Disadvantages: More harrowing plot than usual for this series.

A noticeable difference with this film is that it presents two parallel storylines. One involves the now head of the Corleone family, Michael (Al Pacino), from 1958 to 1959 as he tries to expand the family's business by opening up a casino in Las Vegas, the other is a flashback showing his father, Vito "Don" Corleone from his childhood in Sicily to his founding of the Corleone crime family in New York. Hostel part two - Twice as bad!

...must confess, however, that I had my reservations. The first film was unique, and self contained. What could they do to improve on it? It seems to be, that Eli Roth has a singular vision. A vision that, though once remarkable, has now become dull and boring. His inability to look around the box, has led him to have a much shorter career than he should. He should have taken more time creating hostel part two, or else not have bothered with a sequel at all. The plot, which is thinner than Homer Simpsons' hair, is basically the exact same one from the first film. The events of the film, are 'similar, but not as scary. The acting is perhaps slightly worse, and all he has done to try and make this a film in its own right, is give it an all female lead cast, and provided a Taratinoesque twist, at the end.
