Advantages: Nice thought, and a good place in which to think it
Disadvantages: Not much to see, except perhaps on April 1st

...People in Britain tend to think of the three ex-Soviet Baltic republics, if they think of them at all, as a uniform group and to assume they're much of a muchness. I have to admit that before I went to the region I rather shared that assumption. Once there, one learns a bit about their individual histories and ethnicities, and observes their differing national characters. The Estonians are polite and efficient, but perhaps somewhat stolid. The Latvians are brisker, sharper and less forthcoming; compared to Tallinn, Riga has an edgy feel. And the Lithuanians? They are sometimes described as the Italians of the region, though I'm not sure that quite does them - or the Italians - justice. But they do seem more easy-going than their neighbours, and there is an offbeat, unconventional side to their nature. Why else would...

Republic of quality clothing.

Advantages: nice variety of quality clothes and mega fast delivery.
Disadvantages: Some of the clothes are too expensive

...with paypal. I don't mind using a credit card, but it is so much quicker than entering all your details and numbers. You can also pay with a card if you prefer or if you don't have paypal, but I do recommend that you get it. The dress came just two days after she bought it which I thought was nice and fast. The packaging had republic on it so I knew what it was and the dress was lovely. I am very pleased with the quality of their clothing and their speedy delivery. I also recieved an email-reciept and they told me when the order had been dispatched so they really do have great communication skills so you always know what is happening. The dress wasn't creased and she put it on straight away because they had folded it nicely with her reciept in the bag. ...Republic is a shop that sells designer clothes really cheap, they sell soul cal, G-star, Niso, Fenchurch, Bench, Crafted and Henleys. the great thing about republic is they have deals like 2 for £10, 2 for £30, 2 for £50 or 3 for £45. 2 for £10 the things that come in the 2 for £10 arent amazing there just vests and stuff but good for the price. anything in this range will cost £6 if you just want one 2 for £30 hings that come in the 2 for £30 are really good, they have a big range of stuff in there and anything you buy will impress your friends. anything in this price range will cost £20 if you just want one, which is still quite a good price. 2 for £50 things in the 2 for £50 are really good and will definately impress your friends. they have a big range of different stuff like jeans and coats. anything in this price range...

Cabarete - Dominican Republic (north)

Advantages: nice relaxing holiday, friendly people, great weather.
Disadvantages: hassle by the beach vendors, some shop keepers and time share people

...We have just spent two fabulous weeks in Cabarete on the North coast of Dominican Republic, and I want to tell you all about it. We flew with Thomson and it cost us approx £600 each. Spending money, we probably spent around £400, not including our diving course. First off a bit of geography, DomRep occupies one half of the island of Hispaniola. One of the larger islands in the Caribean. The other half of it being Haiti. It is approximately 8 1/2 hrs away from the UK, but is well worth the time taken to get there. Remember hurricane Jeanne, of September 2004 hitting and devastating Haiti and Dom Rep, well we got there about 7 days after she did expecting to find devestation and in fact had wanted to cancel our holiday, but didn't as we would have lost all our money. Vive La Republic

Advantages: All those beers

...I had already read about The Republic Bier Halle on the net so, when doing a spot of Christmas shopping in Glasgow, I was thinking less about 'The first Noël' and more about 'Bush Noël' (it's a beer). The Republic opened in October 1999, a welcome change to the usual, ubiquitous, trendy bars in central Glasgow and is going from strength to strength. Recently the owner, Colin Barr (now there's a name to suit a chosen occupation!), opened a new bar in Glasgow's south-side called The Bier Stube. He has plans to open another in Sauchiehall St., and one in Edinburgh (can't come soon enough) with more to follow. The bar can be hard to find but it needn't be. It is situated at 9 Gordon St., just a few metres off Buchanan St., Glasgow's main pedestrianized shopping thoroughfare. It could be easy to miss as there's only a doorway...

Plato-The Republic

Advantages: Worth reading for anyone interested in Politics or Philosophy
Disadvantages: A little longwinded

...The republic is a unique and slightly unusual book in terms of written presentation. The book is academic in one sense, with Plato presenting his views and opinions on governance to the reader, yet he implies a more typically fictional style to do so. His ideas are presented through a conversation, veering on argument, where his characters talk around particular points. invariably the characters come round to Plato's (though his views are presented via Socrates) viewpoint. In some ways it makes the republic slightly longwinded, however it is easy to read, and not to heavy so I am undecided whether I like his choice of presentation. In terms of content, the republic is a key text for anyone interested in philosophy or politics and looks into the quest for a perfect society with perfect governance. Knights of the Old Republic.

Advantages: Great Story, Strong Gameplay, Good Graphics, Lightsabers

Czech Republic, A Time Machine of Adventure

Advantages: Varied Culture, Warm people

Prague is like most major cities in Europe, its big, beautiful, and has its own certain cultures to attract tourists, it is however, too commercial for my liking (read my other reviews about what I do, and where I go) I favour the other side of the coin, and my journey\'s reflect that. Flying to the Czech Republic is easy, and many do it using it at as a lilly pad to hop to another country, but for me, the only way to experience the world, is by road. Entering at the German border from Annaberg Buchholz, south ish of Germany, I crossed over to Bozi dar, the same entry point Adolf Hitler used. The border is as sureal as it gets, on the one side are the German Polizei with their new Police cars, surrounded by oppulence and large old cold war observation points...
