Resident evil 1
Advantages: Story!
Disadvantages: same theme as many before it
...Introduction
Resident evil is a Science fiction horror film which was made in 2002 and was based on video games Resident evil 1 and resident evil 2.
Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of computer games and I had never heard of the games until recently. And I did not see the film when it first came out...I was too young! (Bless)
However, when the third one came out, I was old enough, so after seeing it at the cinema, being impressed and having someone explain the first two parts to me I rented the first two on DVD.
Story
The story is about a secret research company which is located about a mile underground and is owned by a firm called the ?Umbrella Corporation? the lab researches illegal things like genetics and viruses. The lab is given the name ?the Hive?.
Due to the secretive nature of the research, everyone who lives in the lab...

Resident Evil 5
Advantages: great graphics, lots of weapons, lots of different mutants to keep you interested
Disadvantages: can be too easy on some levels
...Most of us have heard of the Resident Evil franchise whether it be the movies comics or console games, Resident evil began back in 1996 with the Playstation it was a global success that eventually led to Resident Evil 5.
Resident Evil 5 has come a long way from the spooky old mansion with zombies and mutant dogs, it has now got bigger and better.
You are Chris Redfield assigned to go to Africa and find a man about some pretty crazy bio chemicals that could alter the whole of human race. Some will be happy to know that you now have a partner (Sheva Alomar) it really helps a lot but for those who are looking for a challenge this could be the downside to the game, reason? because it makes it too dam easy.
You will notice some new mutants and some old from Resident evil 4 this is the type of game to keep you on the edge of your seat if you...

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Advantages: Great arcade style game
Disadvantages: could have more levels
...Resident evil umbrella chronicles is an arcade style fps shooter, your characters have a set path that you cannot break and you shoot anything that moves or looks dodgey.
You play through Resident evil 0, 1 and 3 they have the same storylines and characters as the original games. You get to play side missions as different characters such as albert wesker (im not all clued up on resident evil backstory but what i do know is this is a guy gone crazy for power)
The graphics in the game are pretty good by the wii's standards but in the world that is HD dont be expecting it to compete against xbox 360 graphics for ps3 graphics. Regardless of this the visual screen is still good enough by my standards, The levels are dark to provide that even more creepy somethings gonna come round the corner and eat your face off feeling.
The music...

Evil in Residence
Advantages: Twists at the start
Disadvantages: You've seen almost all of it before elsewhere
...either. The twist at the end of Resident Evil: Apocalypse doesn't seem to have been used much which may annoy or confuse some viewers who were expecting it to be developed on.
There are a few nods back to it now and then and Alice seems to have developed telekinetic abilities as well from no-where (no idea if that was ever used in any of the games having only played 1 of them). There is a lovely old school nod in homage back to the Hitchcock classic "The Birds" at one point during the movie.
One scene doesn't quite ring true, where their attacked by the zombies in the container in Las Vegas. Now this is a well co-ordinated group who have clearly survived and held their own for a good long time against the zombies but here they are panicking, firing randomly and firing on automatic when ammunition is clearly in short supply.
They would have...

Resident Evil 4 - But Prettier!
Advantages: Superb Graphics, new features
Disadvantages: Still feels like RE4
...Ever since the first game shocked us with brand new gameplay elements to the genre, we've always been expecting yet another leap!
Resident Evil 4 did this, it was an amazing feat! Full 3D action, new camera viewpoints, much better voice acting (Seriously, the voice acting in the first few games was beyond dire!) and a whole new type of enemy! It was loved by the critics, fans and even pulled in previous skeptics of the series.
So, when I heard Resident Evil 5 was coming out on next gen consoles, I was expecting something special, yet another huge leap in the right direction, maybe lots of new innovations, a whole new type of enemy, even better voice acting!
Unfortunately, this isn't the case with Resident Evil 5. This sequel should simply be called 'Resident Evil 4 - But Prettier!'.
The only actual huge improvement are the graphics...

Resident Evil: Bloodbath!
Advantages: Fantastic game, BREATHTAKING graphics, exciting and tense
Disadvantages: comes out for ps2 in october, will scare you like no game has done before!
...Finally, Resident Evil is back, and this time, it's here to be the best horror game there is on the playstation 2, and maybe all the other consoles as well! The Resident Evil series has being going on for years now, but there has always being something missing that has made the game incomplete, maybe it was the dodgy graphics, maybe it was the awful 10 minute opening door sequence. All of those things: GONE!!! The graphics are superb, (possibly the best in any game ever) and there are no 10-minute breaks while the door is opening. This may sound weird for fans of the Resident Evil series, but in this game, there are also no zombies and no t-virus, (more later)!
<Story>
In Resident Evil 4, you play as Leon S Kennedy, one of Racoon City's police officers, Resident Evil fans will remember him from Resident Evil 2. It has been six...

Resident Evil Again
Advantages: Classic game
Disadvantages: No real changes made to the original
...When it arrived, Resident Evil grabbed us all by the throats like the ravenous zombies it depicted, and shoved a brand new genre down our mouths. Survival Horror - where the player stands alone against a horde of evil, and has nothing but his wits and a minimal supply of weaponry to keep himself alive. It was a smash hit, nothing short of unique brilliance, and although Capcom bled the franchise dry with a horde of sequels (some of them as dead as their monsters they contained), they dusted it off and turned it three-sixty with Resident Evil 4, which dumped the awkward controls and angles of the original engine, thrust the camera behind the protagonist and sprinkled a liberal adult theme on top. With this one standing on top as the game to play, why would one want to slip back into the past to play Resident Evil 2? Because it's one...

Resident Evil Phwoar!
Advantages: Grpahics, Game play, Great Plot
Disadvantages: Not enough copies in the stores, Not for the faint hearted
...Resident Evil has been the most famous and most popular horror/adventure game for some time now. Hollywood realised the cult status and so far two Resident Evil films have been made.
Capcom signed as exclusive deal with Nintendo a few years back and as a result released Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 for the Game Cube. It also released Resident Evil Zero (a prequel to the 1st game) and Code Veronica X (taking place after Nemesis). This deal meant that Capcom would only release Resident evil games on Game Cube, bad news for Playstation 2 owners, great news for Game Cube owners. So the full range of Resident Evil games on the Game Cube is:
Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X
However, on the 18th March 2005 Capcom launched the eagerly anticipated Resident Evil 4...

resident evil redifined!!1
Advantages: fun to play, challenging, great graphics and gameplay, improved voice acting
Disadvantages: there are none!
...Game title: Resident evil 4
Certificate: 15
Genre: survival horror/puzzle adventure
Made by: Capcom
Resident evil 4 the latest instalment of the series, Capcom have done it again and made another great sequel. So one day I was flicking through a new play magazine only to find an article on the up and coming resident evil 4, but what concerned me at the time was not "new resident evil game" but what was written under it
"There are no zombies what so ever"
Now being a hardcore resident evil fan myself, this was rather alarming to read, resident evil? "With no zombies?" I started to doubt myself, should I buy it? In the end I did buy it and jumped at the chance at owning a special collectors edition and to my surprise wow! The game and every aspect of it was brilliant, no faults what so ever.
So here's the low down...

It's Resident Evil all grown up
Advantages: Stellar graphics, interesting new take on the game, better voice acting
Disadvantages: Loses a little of the original's charm
...Remakes. Remakes are the classic double edged sword of the computer game world. On the one hand, most people like the idea of seeing their favourite games from yesteryear remade with cutting edge graphics and sound, and maybe even the odd tweak to make the gameplay more exciting. But on the other hand, changing the look and feel of a classic game robs it of the retro charm that most people find so appealing. It's like taking a girl you had an adolescent crush on and giving her a new face, new hair and new clothes while keeping only the most basic aspects of her personality - yeah, she might look better, but it's not really her anymore.
Thus it was with somewhat mixed feelings that I inserted the Resident Evil disc into my Gamecube and fired it up. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if I'd like it or hate it. Considering...
