One of my favourite hotels in Pattaya

Advantages: Palm trees, close to the beach and comfortable
Disadvantages: Can be a bit busy

...This is one of those hotels where, the longer you stay, the longer you want to stay. I stayed here in May 05. The pool and facilities are second to none and you meet a wide variety of people. It is worth getting up a bit early to grab a sun lounger but you will find yourself in the pool more than on it. The food was gorgeous and room service is extremly quick. It is in an ideal location (close enough to walking street but far enough from it if you wish to avoid it), there is a shopping centre less than three minutes away with everything you need and great bargains. It will take you about 2 minutes to get to the beach and to other restaurants. There is a great restaurant across the street which hosts live traditional thai dancing! Hauza Resort - overview

Advantages: Cheap and lovely atmosphere
Disadvantages: Too much entertainment

Structure of the resort In the morning it was easy to see that actually our monster of a resort was going to be easy to move around, the whole resort was made of a huge reception and main entrance, around 30 hotel buildings, a main restaurant, a man made stream and lake, two swimming pools which were huge a beach and beach bar and lots of greenery and things i have probably forgotten. The Beach We spent a few days of our holiday on the beach, it was a long stretch and full of sun beds and umbrellas. Luckily thanks to the time of year it was, even though the resort was very full of people, it was easy to find a quiet corner if we needed one.   Sanctuary Amongst Chaos

Disadvantages: No internet, few if you consider what you're paying, mixed opinions on cleanliness

...the room as there is so much to see and experience in and around Pattaya. But if you do, then do not rely on the television. There are a large number of channels but the reception can be very poor on the majority of these. At times there is no picture at all. This is a common feature of every hotel I have known in in the city. However, I don't sacrifice all possible comforts for the previous year or two so that I can fly to Thailand just to watch TV. But one thing that is worth a look is the Pattaya News. The resort is far safer than most cities in terms of crime but anything that happens will be on the news bulletin, a programme which doesn't seem to have our censorship when it comes to gore. There is usually something quite amusing aswell such as the tiny eighty five year old who walked in to Pattaya police station with a gun just to inform...

Sharm El Sheikh Sharm is a man made resort on the red sea coast and is basically just one straight road in the desert, running parrallel with the coast, with the airport in the middle and then many hotels either side of it. The hotels themselves are more like mini resorts than just hotels, and are either on the sea side of the road with sea frontage or the desert side with none but access to a beach over the road.
