...The Battlefield Rest will always have a very special place in my heart. It was there that my husband and I had our first ever date together (he lived across the road and he was still late!). We ate there with both sets of parents to celebrate my long awaited pregnancy. We have eaten there with friends and family on numerous occasions and it was there that our girls had their first eating out experience. LOCATION Situated in the Southside of Glasgow, in the shadow of the Victoria Hospital, on what is effectively a roundabout, The Rest does not have the most picturesque or peaceful of settings. The wail of sirens as ambulances bustle by and the buses thundering past in all directions, would, in most circumstances detract from the ambience of such an establishment, but it actually seems to emphasis the cosy atmosphere inside...

The Anglers Rest, Derbyshire

Advantages: Good Sunday Lunch, Nice Pub And Lovely Setting

...The Angler?s Rest is one of three Public Houses/Restaurants in the little picturesque Village of Bamford, in an area of Derbyshire?s Peak District National Park known as the High Peak. I visited the Angler?s Rest in Bamford recently for Sunday Lunch, although I must confess that this was not actually my first choice of venue. I had intended to visit a place called the Yorkshire Bridge, which is a popular place and has a good reputation for food. In fact, the Yorkshire Bridge was so popular that we could not find an empty table, hence we headed back up the road about a mile to the Angler?s Rest. I have eaten at the Angler?s Rest before but this was many years ago. Back then this place served excellent food but I had heard that its standards had fallen since that time. I had however heard that this place had recently changed owners...

A proper rest from £35.00 a night

...(very common) Flat beer Uncontrollable kids causing havoc in the restaurant Uncontrollable parents causing havoc in the restaurant Enough is enough & I started looking for an alternative in the area, my mother recommend the Travellers Rest located between Hexham & a little village called Slaley. On the map they are about half way between Newcastle upon Tyne in the east & Carlisle in the west. She said they were really good; however the last time she was there was in 1954!!! Apparently she worked down there & her & pals used to frequent the Travellers Rest every Saturday night. She said, that she didn't think it had changed much since 1954!! I wasn't convinced, in 1954 Elvis Presley was still unknown, the Ford Zephyr was a popular car & we still used old money!! However a call to the Travellers Rest secured a room for the night...

Advantages: Erm... they didn't smell too bad
Disadvantages: Takes advantage of the first time buyer! never calls - see below for rest of story...

Lee also managed to sell us "Countrywide Assured" buildings and contents insurance, even though the buildings insurance is included in the maintanence charges for the flat - we've only just found out, 2 years later - all that money wasted :`( And they never phone when they say they will - ever! I'll never again use them to buy or sell a property, and advise all first time buyers to take someone who has been through this process before when viewing properties/speaking to estate agents etc... and if they are told something which seems too good to be true, like wooden flooring, ask for it in writing!!! Then at least you have proof to complain if you need to....

...Alaskan metallers 36 crazyfists have definatley outdone themselves here on their third album the follow up from 2004's 'A Snow Capped Romance'. 'Rest inside the flames' shows the impressive musical progression they have made, also incorporating trademark tight riffs and a new, more epic and melodic sound. Includes the single 'I'll Go Until My Heart Stops'. With the quick, fast and exciting intro of the first track "I'll go untill my heart stops" it would be a difficult task to then not listen to the rest of the album, which is safe to say, dosn't dissapoint. Outstanding melodic riffs and vocals, the screaming and singing are balanced perfectly, and to an excellent standerd. From the first to the last song, no quality is lost and this will be a cd you listen to over and over again. Not at all a huge amount of money to spend...

...I broke my wrist about 10 years ago when I was in year 6, and since then it gets quite painful when i overwork it or put too much pressure on it. This includes using the computer and in particular my mouse, I think becuase you have to hold you hand in the same posistion and no blood can circulate, also your wrist needs more support. Ideally your hand and arm should remain level, when I visited my sister I used her mouse pad with a hand rest. It was very comfortable so I decided to invest in one myself, this one only cost me about £4 from Amazon. The pad is a nice dark blus colour, it looks just like a regular mouse pad apart from the gel cusion at the bottom that you rest your wrist on. I think it has definately helped me but unfortunatelty I have a 'mini souris' (little mouse), which is very cute but I think it means that my wrsit...
