...Snozone Milton Keynes is a fantastic facility to be enjoyed by a variety of different people. Unfortunately there are many people who feel that it is expensive and nothing compared to a real snow slope- but what can you expect from an artificial slope? We're not talking about a mountain, and in all honesty I feel that Snozone in Milton Keynes offers a brilliant day out for beginners to intermediate skiers/boarders. The slope can get busy in peak times (evenings and weekends), so avoid these times if possible, during the day is the best time to go for recreational time. Lessons however are Snozone's best product. The customer service team in the call centre were very knowledgable on the lessons offered and were very helpful. ...When I lived in Northamptonshire I visited Milton Keynes quite often. I went there basically for the shopping. It really is impressive. Firstly there is a huge shopping mall where you can shop til you drop and most of the big High Street names are there. What else do I like about Milton Keynes ? In a way I think it is rather like Singapore without the sun. It is arguably the most impressive of Britain's new towns and really has been well planned. Most of the facilities are very modern including the railway station and the housing is very good indeed. Critics say its lacks character and there may be some truth in that but it is I believe a good place to live and work in. The Japanese certainly think that for there has been quite large inflows of investment from Japan into Milton Keynes.The Open University is located there...

...For my Birthday last year, I received a Boots experience for LivingWell (£50); I chose to go to the LivingWell in Milton Keynes close to where my sister lives as she came with me. We arrived at 9am and were greeted by a friendly receptionist, who gave us some forms to fill in. (For health and medical reasons). Whilst filling in the forms we were offered a drink from the café, when completed we were given a lunch menu to chose from (Included in the price), and asked what time we would like to eat. Lunch was a choice of sandwiches, fruit juice, or a glass of wine or bucks fizz. We were than presented with a white towelling robe and two towels for our use during the day. Milton Keynes Theatre is situated in the centre of Milton Keynes, close to the already excellent but still-improving shopping centre. It is a part of a modern theatre and art gallery complex opened in October 1999 and attracts very large numbers of visitors. Around the theatre itself there has grown up an area of bars and restaurants so there are plenty of opportunities to meet up for a drink before or dine after an evening in the theatre. ...The Quality Hotel in Milton Keynes is a super hotel to stay in even if it is a bit pricey for Milton Keynes, not that i've got anything against milton Keynes before you all start on me!! I had a double room with single occupancy and this cost me £85 per night and didn't even include Breakfast - this was another £10 if you wanted it. However i was working in Wolverton and the Tesco there did a full english breakfast with a coffee for £3.00. So unfortunatly i can not comment on the standard of the food made available for breakfast. Advantages: SUITABLE FOR THE DISABLED VISITOR/UNDER ONE ROOF

...As a resident in Milton Keynes I visit the Centre MK on a regular basis, and thought I would update you on what's happening. Firstly the Centre MK is all on one level, which makes it easier for wheelchair users and mums with buggies to get around. The Centre is split into 4 main shopping areas and 2 leisure areas: The original part which is about 1/2 a mile long with two main walk ways either side with Marks and Spencer one end and John Lewis the other. A large square area near to John Lewis called Middleton Hall is where the Christmas displays & exhibitions take place. The Christmas display always delights young and old. The Food Hall which is adjacent to the main building on the open market side contains mainly Supermarkets and some specialist food & wine stores. I visited this restaurant last week with my fiancée while out shopping in Milton Keynes. The restaurant is located near the shops with pubs and other restaurants next to it. Appearance --------------- On walking through the doors, you are greeted with a two level restaurant, actually very large, it could probably fit between 80 and 100 people in it! The décor was very nice and well kept, in an Italian style, all brown and beige colours. Novotel (Milton Keynes)

Advantages: Very clean. Large spacious rooms with sofa. Well decorated. Pool and sauna. Huge bed. Very friendly bar staff. Great food.
Disadvantages: Advertised on website that they are a mile from Milton Keynes station. Considerably longer. Needed to get a cab. Small towels. Tricksy pay to view. No mini bar. Odd little cupboard toilet. Tiny towels. Poor reception staff. Pool closed by 11pm.

...I needed to spend a night in Milton Keynes as my wife and I were travelling up from London to see a show at the theatre then going further north the next morning. Manage to get quite a good deal at lastminute.com, only £49.00 for one night, based on a room only fee. After a hectic journey up to Milton Keynes by coach due to rail engineering I was disappointed to find that the hotel is not within walking distance from the station, even though it claims to be only a mile. It costs £3-£5 in a cab depending whether you are travelling from the city centre or the station. The hotel seems quite modern, pretty characterless from the outside as most business hotels seem to be. The foyer was large and open plan, leading on to the bar and restaurant to the right. Review of Novotel Milton Keynes

Come to Milton Keynes but week days only

Advantages: Good selection of shops - easy to get to
Disadvantages: Weekends are mobbed, cyclists, skateboarders

...If you live in Northampton and have to suffer shopping there, a trip to Milton Keynes can be a treat. However I can only recommend a trip during the week, as the weekends are suffocatingly busy. Everybody talks about the dreaded Milton Keynes roundabouts and how Americanised the streets and street-names are, but actually the road signs at all these roundabouts are helpful, and you cannot miss the shopping centre. The main shops are signed from as far back as the M1 and there is even a free park and ride although I have not used this so cannot comment. I would certainly suggest using this facility at the weekends as parking does become a problem. If you do decide to park the prices have actually gone up from today (15 October 2001) to 80p per hour however it’s not as simple as that as you cannot pay £3.20 for four hours...
