It really is a small world. Flying to Slovenia, I sat beside a woman whose husband had been at school with one of my brothers, in Australia, fifteen years ago. Still, whilst it's a small world, some places are definitely smaller than others, and for a Capital City, Slovenia's Ljubljana is positively tiny.
We flew across central Europe on a frigidly cold December day...

Ptuj - the jewel in Slovenia's tourism crown?
Advantages: Pretty, compact, not too busy, easy to get to, lots to see
Disadvantages: Eating places not brilliant

Lendava - a pleasant surpise in Eastern Slovenia
Advantages: Interesting castle, Jewish history, cheap, good food, spa excellent for swimming
Disadvantages: Remoteness, language can be an issue
....75! The staff were very friendly and even showed the children the courtyard out the back, where some traditional furniture was being made. The café is three doors down from the tourist information office.
The Restaurant Korona was recommended to us, and the food was excellent, if a little more experimental than we came across elsewhere in Slovenia. I am not sure the black spaghetti was a success, but my...
