...This is an excellent revision guide for any GCSE pupil who needs last minute revision help. Available from all good bookshops and most books sites online, it costs just under £11 and is well worth paying for. Written by Graham Booth this guide is an excellent helping hand for revision. The chapters cover most of the GCSE topics for Physics but the good thing about this study guide is that at the end of each chapter you get questions, to check what you have learnt. With your own notes from lessons and this guide, you should then hopefully be able to challenge most of the Physics question on your exam paper. The questions are a good tester to put your formula’s/equations and theory into practice. ...on the exams, exam technique and questions they might be asked. This is invaluable because many people, (myself included) do not really know how to revise. The guides are available for most subjects and tiers at GCSE, and workbooks are also available in some subjects. These are books of worksheets with answers included that are very useful for checking what you know. There are also study guides for non-examination subjects in the range, guides for Key Stages 2 and 3, and an AS-level Maths guide. CGP revision guides are available fairly cheaply from most book stores, and also through many schools at a discount. Advantages: Good context for the poems
Disadvantages: Not detailed enough in term of language

...For a GCSE in English Language, Paper 2 requires an essay on Poems from DIfferent Cultures. This CGP book mentions the key points which are needed about each poem, including themes, context, information about the author, emotions, and language. Although the context of each poem is useful, I do not feel the language points made for each poem are enough to obtain a top-end grade. I would recommend York Notes instead. However, it is a good starting point if beginning revision early, although the student must build on the notes provided, and perhaps include their own annotations. This book is particularly useful in providing model essays at the end, which are good for learning how to structure the essay, as well as help in choosing the best poems for the question. ...old notes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It has been proved that just reading through notes is not a good way of revising although it can be helpful to read through notes but then actively revise using them. For example, read through them and then summarise them or ask yourself questions on them. Once you have read the information, do something with it! Instead of just hoping it sticks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Revision sessions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In some ways, revising with friends can be really helpful as you can ask each other questions and do little presentations on topics to help each other revise. However! If you are not very strong willed (like me lol!) then you will end up chatting rather than revising and you waste valuable time!! ...Letts GCSE Science Revision Guides Retail £11.99 Known to be one of the "UK's Best-selling study guides". Thats what they say; well what do you expect, thats the one that all the schools seem to reccomend due to its factuality and simplicity. I however feel differently, after using others on the market that I felt were a lot better. This was one of a few science revision books that were on my bookshelf for last years GCSE exams. It was not my favourite, but I found it very useful never the less. Many people say you should get a revision book in the couple of weeks leading up to the exams, but in my opinion you should get it right at the beginning of the course due to the help it gives you with homework and understanding the course before it is getting too late to worry.
